I pretty much figured he was a hoaxer by the comments posted here and seeing a large discrepancy in the stuff he said would happen before now.
It was probably wild theater being there when he was spouting this stuff off.

Most of us, Darby and myself to be sure are skeptical - but not "debunkers" per se. We both gave him the benefit of doubt, let him talk, gave him a lot of opportunities to come clean or clear up certain issues.
I have a private definition of skeptic and debunker. They are not the same thing, although a debunker is usually skeptical, a skeptic is not necessarily a debunker.
The debunker is someone who deliberately sets out to prove something is invalid or in some cases to make the story telling look stupid, or question that person's veracity by bringing up issues outside of the subject at hand.
A skeptic is simply someone who doesn't automatically (or automagically as the case might be) believe in something. They will question portions of, if not the whole story in an effort to get more facts surrounding the case.
Then of course you have the "Believers". Pam is a believer as were many others on Anomalies and before that the Art Bell Post-to-Post site. Believers are people are diametrically opposed to debunkers.
Skeptics are in the middle and would tend toward neutrality.
Believers will believe every piece of information regardless of it's accuracy as long as it supports their belief system and will vehemently maintain that the "truth" they have is different from "Your truth" because you are blind, brainwashed, or simply ignorant. (Liberals fall into this category for instance).
Anyway - there was a significant amount of "drama" involved in the whole thing. lol

I am a hopeful skeptic. I want to believe, but I need some proof.

I think we all are, Mal... I have been involved in and followed the UFO phenomenon since I was a child. I've "seen interesting things" over the years (one of the items I have referred to here recently in previous years of my life having to do with ETs).
But, I have never seen physical evidence other than some lights in the sky, and once on the ground.
I've never seen any people/creatures. So, I don't have the "belief" in UFOs and Aliens and alien abductions some people have.
On the other hand there's NO doubt in my mind there is life out there and likely intelligent life. Whether they have visited here remains in question.
Time travel, as far as our modern day physics allows is a power hunger thing that could work - but we don't have the technology to do it.
Unless we have missed something like Titor's micro-singularities, Tippler-Cylinders-spirals or whatever you want to call them (worm holes in layman terms I guess would be accurate). Even so - again, no evidence.
Even a nuclear war with Russia in 2014 or 2015 would be real evidence, merely coincidental.

Back in 2000/2001, Whomever was writing as Titor did use the ideology of warning us about trading our security for freedom, again prior to 9-11 and made a distinct difference between the cities and rural attitudes and what each was like after war.
Pretty broad topics and yes, one could have said the security for freedom thing with 1000% certainty anyway, and yes there has long been a divide between urban and rural. Still, it was a captivating story that I too want as real, if only to know time travel is able to be done. I could do without the non predicted predictions from 'his past'.
Didn't see the new Underworld yet and Jessica Alba...nice and all at a distance, but she's a Valtrex user so I'm out.
