    Default Colorado Members Read

Alright, I THOUGHT there was a way to start a "group", but I'm having problems finding it.

So, instead.... here's a Colorado Members Thread so we can check in here and decided where to meet, etc.

I've no problem is trying to meet up with folks on one-on-one basis if you like, or we can all meet someplace to have a couple beers. I think we all like beer. If not, you can't live in Colorado so pack up and go

I think we should pick a semi-central location, and it has been suggested Castle Rock. That's kinda far from Westminester I think, isn't it?

On the other hand it is about 40 miles from where I am located now. I know Aplomb lives about 70 miles from me northern side of Denver.

Here's a google search for locations in which me might meet if everyone is game. I'd like to do it before Catfish leaves town, so sometime when it is good for him, probably a weekend? (I'm available weekends usually).

    Comments, suggestions, etc?

I guess from a purely financial standpoint, Chili's or Red Robin is good for most. There's a couple of "nice" places, but they will be more expensive, and of course there's always Wendy's, MickeyD's and a Taco Hell. LOL.

The latter few do not serve beer, wine, etc. The two I suggested however, do server beer. I saw a couple of reviews on a place called the Augustine Grill. It's a Victorian Home. Here's a clip from the web site...

Nestled in the heart of Castle Rock, an early 1900's Victorian home beckons guests into a cozy European setting where Roasted Rack of Lamb, Beef Tenderloin Medallions, Seared Tuna, homemade soups and savory pasta dishes fulfill your every culinary wish.
Probably a bit more than we wanna spend. Oh, and it is RESERVATION only.

RD; Thanks for setting this thread up. I think Castle Rock is a pretty central location between north metro Denver and the Springs, if everyone else agrees. There's bound to be a bar that serves beer and burgers or some such, I'll check on that.

I think getting as many of the group together would be the coolest. Everyone is free to do whatever, but a party sounds good to me.

Here's a possibility: Castle Rock Bar & Grill, 302 Wilcox. Food, music, booze, the three main ingredients. Easy to find. Map:

Littleton meeting would be much better for me considering my vehicle issues. Game for that, Rick? I'm going to try to arrange to follow Catfish, if we are going to firm Castlerock. Daytime will work best for me, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. What are your schedules like?

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Littleton is easy on me, I'm already there. Didn't know you had auto issues, Aplomb, arranging a ride for you is no problem.

Alright, I'm open to suggestions. Let's pick a date. And also, let's pick a spot. I suggest Castle Rock because it is pretty central.

As posted above about 4 posts, how about the Castle Rock Bar and Grill? Easy to find, link above.

I'm open on a date and time, let's hear from Aplomb, who had some timing and transportation issues.

Hey all, I've been busy as h*** and not posting, but aren't we running out of time, or did I miss the party? If not, let's put this thing together. I'll be without email capability until Monday, but I'm still interested in a get-together if anyone else is...

    Hi guys.

    You missed the party!!!!!

Actually, Catfish came through the Springs the other day. He came down to meet a cousin and called me to meet up with me for an hour or so. Not sure if he made it to the cousin or not.

He, his girl friend and I met over at Old Chicago's for about an hour and a half and had a couple beers/drinks, and he basically interviewed me for most of the time

I asked him at the end, when we were doing pictures, "So, even though I really need a haircut and don't have the 'nazi skinhead look' (that most probably think I have), am I the monster that most make me out to be?"

    He said... "no"

I'll leave the rest for him to post some other time.

Hey all, back in Minnesota and couldnt be happier, except my girl is still in Colorado. Had a great time meeting Rick, had a couple drinks and talked for about an hour or so. Would have liked to spend more time talking but Rick had to go and my girlfriend wanted to see some sights before the sun went down.

Never did get to see my cousin, oh well, and by the time we found the garden of the gods it was dark. Colorado Springs looks like a pretty cool city, pretty much right at the base of the mountains unlike where I lived in Westminster which was much further from the mountains.

Wish I could have met more of you but time wouldnt allow. Maybe when I visit there again we can all get together. Im sure I will be back there many times in the future, visiting in-laws and maybe even doing some skiing.

Hope to have the picture of Rick and me up in a couple weeks.

Hehhehhe, there are some at Anomalies that would have a field day with that almost Hitler-esque mustache and the camo pants on Rick. Flower King comes to mind...
