Bear stopped by today. He apparently wanted some gasoline for bug repellent.
Note, this is right next to my house on the path and he rolled a bit in the back yard.
He's got a big set of choppers.....

That is really cool!
The bear looks real healthy too.
Beetle - Give me liberty or give me something to aim at.
A monster lies in wait for me
A stew of pain and misery
But feircer still in life and limb
the me that lays in wait for him

I hear ya... I think the NRA and others were working on getting bear hunts reinstated in NJ.
Man, he's big for a blackie. He's gotta go 500 or 600 pounds. I thought big blacks only hung out here in Colorado.
After a second look, I think he's near-sighted and has fallen in love with your gas can. I wonder where that can has been?

This pic-a-nic basket tastes funny BooBoo.
Really cool photos by the way. I believe that New Jersey of all places has an abundence of black bears?
At one time Missouri had a large population, hence the 2 bears in our State flag, but they have nearly been wiped out now. I also believe that their is a movement to bring them back in southern Mo. I think the conservation department may want to think that through a little more.
Myself, I figure if we had more bears we would have less deer, but who knows. Bears, like raccons are omnivores I think. They do love the trash we humans throw away.
I bearly know enough about them to post intelligently.
"Still waitin on the Judgement Day"
The bears don't eat them but since they share habitat, the bears tend to roust them from their day slumber so they move on.Myself, I figure if we had more bears we would have less deer, but who knows. Bears,
I consider these things to be large Raccoons who can enter your house if they choose.
