Washington, USA - The New Healthcare bill they want to sign into law in the US contains some interesting information. According to the bill there will be required to:

“The Secretary shall establish a national medical device registry (in this subsection referred to as the ‘registry’) to facilitate analysis of postmarket safety and outcomes data on each device that—‘‘(A) is or has been used in or on a patient; and ‘‘(B) is a class III device; or ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable.”

This could be that the US is the first nation in the world to require all citizens to where a "device that is implantable"

Interesting things are happening on that side of the world, it turns out Obama is bringing some change. Not exactly change you want to believe in though.

(Please note. We think it could just mean things like: pacemakers, spinal cord stimulators or such so take that in consideration when reading this.) You decide.

Bill (PDF) in a non-discussed section titled: Subtitle C-11 Sec. 2521
National Medical Device Registry, and which states its purpose as:

Just Like Obama’s Dogs

The item under question here has shown up in a few rumor blogs and in other less reputable sites as yet another diabolical scheme by Obama to enslave the US. Really? Let’s look at the language…

The Obama Health care bill under Class II (Paragraph 1, Section B) specifically includes in its lists of things that must be in registered in the NATIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE REGISTRY: ‘‘(ii) a class II device that is implantable.”

Then on page 1004 it describes what the term “data” means in paragraph 1, section B:

14 ‘‘(B) In this paragraph, the term ‘data’ refers to in
15 information respecting a device described in paragraph (1),
16 including claims data, patient survey data, standardized
17 analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of
18 data from disparate data environments, electronic health
19 records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the
20 Secretary”

What is meant by the term, “class II device that is implantable”?

According to the FDA, a class II implantable device is a “implantable radiofrequency transponder system for patient identification and health information.” The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.” In other words an RFID chip such as are used in a number of dogs and cats. Just like Obama’s dogs.

Nearly every liberal blog out there is currently in high dudgeon, outraged over the “vicious, mean-spirited rumor mongering of the far right”. They claim that this subtext of the bill merely exists as an example of the thoroughness of the healthcare legislation, and that if doctors are going to use RFID chips to monitor their patients’ health than those devices should be regulated.

On its surface this seems perfectly reasonable, but then I think about the people who would have the power to decide what “other data” is deemed appropriate.

Real ID Act of 2005

A lot of people have forgotten about the Real ID Act of 2005. A good number of the members of Congress and the Senate who were pushing that bit of legislative disaster would also be involved in the implementation of this steaming heap. If they had gotten their way then every one of us would have to be using a card with an RFID chip in it. We would not be allowed to travel, buy or sell without using that card and all of that data would tell the government where we are and where we are going 24 hours a day. Yes, they really do care about our freedom, don’t they? Excuse me if I don’t run right out and reregister as a Democrat.

Liberals tend to laugh and sneer whenever the “slippery slope” argument is used by a conservative, even though they have used the same argument innumerable times for their side, but in this case it is right on. Considering the people behind the bill, considering that they have tried along every step to hide the content of the legislation from the voters, considering that, when asked where their power to mandate to citizens what the citizenry will buy they refused to answer, I cannot and will not trust a word they say.

Chris Matthews seemed shocked that people thought Major Hasan’s emails to a terrorist organization might be suspicious. Ted Turner lamented that there weren’t enough communist countries in the world.

Michelle Obama stated that she was ashamed of this country before the election. Nearly every member of the Democrat leadership has stated at one time that we brought 911 on ourselves and not one of them has offered one word of praise to the female Army Sergeant who stopped Hassan’s bloody jihad against his own fellow soldiers. No, this current administration is not to be trusted.

Liberals are supposed to be all about choice, so why don’t they want to give us one in this case? When Nancy Pelosi was asked about the legal penalties waiting for those of us who will not be purchasing the government’s approved insurance she refused to answer the question, moving instead to say that the bill gave people a choice. Choosing to become a slave is no choice at all.

The Washington Post editorial board finally catches up to the big three-card Monte that Nancy Pelosi conducted in passing her ObamaCare bill over week ago. Last week, Byron York reported that Pelosi hid almost $300 billion in new health-care costs by burying the “doctor fix” in the debate rules for her Pelosi Plan. Now the Post blasts Congress for its dishonesty, and for mishandling the expensive addition that would make a mockery of the new deficit-hawk posing at the White House (via Conn Carroll):

HAVING PASSED a health reform bill that is, at least theoretically, paid for, the House of Representatives is poised this week to blow a quarter-trillion-dollar hole in the federal budget involving, you guessed it, health care. This is the so-called doc fix, to prevent scheduled cuts in Medicare reimbursements to physicians from taking effect. …

By the way, don’t be fooled by the incredible shrinking “cost” of the fix. The official Congressional Budget Office estimate used to be $245 billion over 10 years. Now it’s $210 billion. In fact, the real hit to the budget will be closer to $300 billion. The lower CBO numbers stem primarily from the administration’s move to change the rules about which physician payments are subject to the cuts. The administration proposed a regulation to exempt drugs administered in doctor’s offices, such as chemotherapy, from the spending ceiling. That has the effect of making the cost of the fix look smaller, but it doesn’t change the ultimate drain on the treasury: Medicare will end up paying out the same amount of money.

All of this is, to some degree, Medicare kabuki to placate the American Medical Association.

Obamacare Prepares to Slam the States

Anxious to avoid raising taxes too much to pay for their health care proposals, the Obama administration and its congressional allies hit on a great new idea: Make the states raise their taxes to fund the program, instead.

Both the House and the Senate bills require that states cover a larger percentage of their people under Medicaid — a joint state and federally funded program. The idea was to force states to raise their taxes to cover a big part of the health care bill for treating poor people. Since the Feds can simply charge any increase in spending to their already overdrawn bank account, but the states have to balance their budgets, the increased state spending for Medicaid will cause sharp increases in state taxes. And the governors will get the blame, not Obama and not the Congress.

The House bill requires states to give Medicaid to those whose incomes are less than 150 percent of the poverty level, while the Senate will settle for only 125 percent. For most states, this is a hefty increase.

In some states, like New York, where Medicaid covers everyone making 150 percent of the poverty level already, there will not be any extra required spending.

But not so in California, which only covers 100 percent of the poverty level. Were the House bill to pass, the already fiscally beleaguered state would have to increase its Medicaid spending on poor people by 50 percent, at least an extra $2 billion a year and perhaps more.

In many Southern states, the Medicaid program only covers a portion of those living below the poverty level. For these states, the requirement to cover all those in poverty and then 50 percent more will cause enormous increases in taxes. In Arkansas and Louisiana, where swing-Senators Pryor, Lincoln and Landrieu come from, the cost could exceed $1 billion for each state each year.

Unfunded mandates for state spending imposed from on high in Washington have always rankled governors.

The senators and congressmen in Washington get the credit for spreading largesse, but the governors in the states get the blame for the taxes that are needed to pay for it.

Since Democrats currently control the vast majority of governorships, this process of making their own party members take the rap for raising taxes is politically self-destructive in the extreme. But Obama is so desperate to pass his health care legislation that he doesn’t care what havoc in his party he reaps in the process.

The question now is whether the governors of the 50 states, particularly the Democrats, are going to sit idly by and let their budgets be destroyed by the health care bill.

When the Republicans in Congress insisted on tacking big cuts in aid to legal immigrant benefits for disability and other areas onto the welfare reform bill, it was the Republican governors who forced them to repeal the pernicious cuts the very next year. They did not want to have to raise taxes to make up for the withdrawal of federal funding.

Now, the Democratic governors face the same situation. If Obamacare passes with its expansion of Medicaid benefits — but with no federal funding of the extra spending — it is these Democrats and their legislatures that will have to bite the bullet and pass new taxes to pay for it.

Since states are already facing mammoth financial problems as a result of dwindling revenues and swelling expenditures in the recession, these additional burdens could be politically fatal. Unless Democratic governors want to avoid the fate of one of their late brethren, former Gov. Jon Corzine of New Jersey, whose political career was ended in a blaze of new taxes, they might want to call their buddies in Congress and ask them to lay off the unfunded mandates, particularly during this recession.

Was Democrats’ Health Care Strategy Written In Federal Prison?

by Joel B. Pollak On August 31, I headed to the health care town hall meeting of my congressional representative, Jan Schakowsky (D-IL). I suspected that she planned to stack the meeting with paid organizers, after she vowed on Real Time with Bill Maher to bring “millions” of people into the streets to support the so-called “public option.” So I brought a video camera.

A friend and I took turns filming protesters on both sides of the issue. We caught an organizer from the group Health Care for America Now (HCAN) instructing followers to block dissenting views: “So if they stand up and start asking questions, and you’re in that area, simply stand up, and start chanting… ‘Health care now! Health care now!’”

My experience at Rep. Schakowsky’s town hall meeting that night convinced me to challenge her in the 2010 election. I had already stood up to Rep. Barney Frank at Harvard University, when I asked him about his role in the financial crisis. I could not simply watch thugs drown out the people of my own community back home, and do nothing.

The HCAN video became a YouTube sensation, the “smoking gun” in the controversy over which side of the debate was “Astroturfing”—i.e. creating a false image of grass roots support. I have since discovered that the video contains clues about how the entire nationwide health care campaign was planned and executed by congressional Democrats and the White House.

It turns out that the organizer in the video is John Gaudette, the Illinois director of HCAN. Gaudette also works for a left-wing group linked to ACORN called Citizen Action/Illinois. Rep. Schakowsky sits on the Policy Council of the group, which suggests that she may have known about or even coordinated the suppression of her own constituents’ views by HCAN.

The plot thickens.

Rep. Schakowsky’s husband, Robert Creamer, used to be the leader of Citizen Action/Illinois. He also founded its predecessor, Illinois Public Action, in which Ms. Schakowsky served as Program Director. He runs a political consulting firm, the Strategic Consulting Group, which lists ACORN and the SEIU among its clients and which made $541,000 working for disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.

Creamer resigned from Citizen Action/Illinois after the FBI began investigating him for bank fraud and tax evasion at Illinois Public Action. He was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to five months in federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, plus eleven months of house arrest.

While in prison—or “forced sabbatical,” he called it—Creamer wrote a lengthy political manual, Listen to Your Mother: Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win (Seven Locks Press, 2007).

The book was endorsed by leading Democrats and their allies, including SEIU boss Andy Stern—the most frequent visitor thus far to the Obama White House—and chief Obama strategist David Axelrod, who noted that Creamer’s tome “provides a blueprint for future victories.”

In the book, Creamer draws lessons from decades of experience on the radical left, including the teachings of arch-radical Saul Alinsky, and several episodes from Rep. Schakowsky’s political career. He also lays out a “Progressive Agenda for Structural Change,” which includes a ten-point plan for foisting universal health care on the American people in 2009:

• “We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right.”
• “We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”
• “Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health insurance industry and focusing on the failure of private health insurance.”
• “We need to systematically forge relationships with large sectors of the business/employer community.”
• “We need to convince political leaders that they owe their elections, at least in part, to the groundswell of support of [sic] universal health care, and that they face political peril if they fail to deliver on universal health care in 2009.”
• “We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”
• “Over the next two years, we must design and organize a massive national field program.”
• “We must focus especially on the mobilization of the labor movement and the faith community.”
• “We must systematically leverage the connections and resources of a massive array of institutions and organizations of all types.”
• “To be successful, we must put in place commitments for hundreds of millions of dollars to be used to finance paid communications and mobilization once the battle is joined.”

Creamer adds: “To win we must not just generate understanding, but emotion—fear, revulsion, anger, disgust.”

Democrats have followed Creamer’s plan to the letter. They have claimed our health care system is in crisis despite polls showing the overwhelming majority of Americans are happy with the care they receive. They have—with the help of President Obama—circulated false horror stories about Americans dying for lack of health care and health insurance.

They have targeted the health insurance industry, with Rep. Schakowsky herself promising to “put the private insurance industry out of business,” though it is a top employer in Illinois.

Democrats have cut deals with the pharmaceutical industry and the American Medical Association, among others. They have brought in the President himself to tell wavering “Blue Dog” Democrats that their re-election chances depend on passing health care reform. They have bused in SEIU members to town hall meetings, and used rabbis and pastors to back health care reform from the pulpit.

They have used a complex, interconnected web of organizations—including HCAN and Organizing For America, the former Obama campaign arm—to whip up support and silence opposition. And they have benefited from hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising to convince the public to support bills that their representatives have never read themselves.

Creamer wrote his plan in 2006, explicitly proposing that it be carried out in 2009, once a “progressive Democrat is elected President” and once Democrats could count on 60 votes in the Senate. It is curious that Creamer, sitting in prison, could have predicted the details and the timing of President Obama’s legislative agenda so precisely.

The likeliest explanation is that Creamer helped design the Democrats’ health care strategy. That would explain why President Obama made health care an obsession in 2009, when it was only one among many issues he raised on the campaign trail in 2008. It would explain the role of several overlapping left-wing groups, including Creamer’s own Citizen Action/Illinois.

It would explain why HCAN was particularly aggressive at Rep. Schakowsky’s own town hall meeting. And Creamer’s involvement would also explain his high profile after being released from prison. He worked for the Obama campaign, training volunteers at “Camp Obama.” He has continued his work at the Strategic Consulting Group, leading “many of the country’s most significant issue campaigns,” he claims. He was also at the White House state dinner last month—together with Stern, Axelrod, and other cronies—despite the fact that ex-convicts are usually barred from such events.

Creamer’s broader aim, as laid out in his book, is the “democratization of wealth” in America and “progressive control of governments around the world.” As he recently wrote on his blog at the Huffington Post: “If we succeed in winning health insurance reform we will have breached the gates of the status quo. We will demonstrate that fundamental change is possible. Into that breach will flow a wave of progressive change.”

It is a radical agenda, making use of Rep. Schakowsky’s public profile, a network of far-left organizations, and Creamer’s old friends in the White House. It began in federal prison, and has unfolded exactly as intended, over the protests of thousands of ordinary Americans across the nation. It will not end with health care. It will continue until Mr. Creamer’s Alinskyite dream of radical change is realized—or until voters stand up and put a stop to it in 2010.

Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery

The Nevada Democrat, in a sweeping set of accusations on the Senate floor, also compared health care foes to those who opposed women's suffrage and the civil rights movement -- even though it was Sen. Strom Thurmond, then a Democrat, who unsuccessfully tried to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and it was Republicans who led the charge against slavery.

Senate Republicans on Monday called Reid's comments "offensive" and "unbelievable."

But Reid argued that Republicans are using the same stalling tactics employed in the pre-Civil War era.

"Instead of joining us on the right side of history, all the Republicans can come up with is, 'slow down, stop everything, let's start over.' If you think you've heard these same excuses before, you're right," Reid said Monday. "When this country belatedly recognized the wrongs of slavery, there were those who dug in their heels and said 'slow down, it's too early, things aren't bad enough.'"

He continued: "When women spoke up for the right to speak up, they wanted to vote, some insisted they simply, slow down, there will be a better day to do that, today isn't quite right.

"When this body was on the verge of guaranteeing equal civil rights to everyone regardless of the color of their skin, some senators resorted to the same filibuster threats that we hear today."

That seemed to be a reference to Thurmond's famous 1957 filibuster -- the late senator switched parties several years later.

Reid's office stood by the remarks, with spokesman Jim Manley saying Republicans have "done nothing but obstruct health care" in the Senate.
"Today's feigned outrage is nothing but a ploy to distract from the fact they have no plan to lower the cost of health care, stop insurance company abuses or protect Medicare," Manley said.

But Republicans said they were genuinely appalled. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said Reid's remarks were over the top.

"That is extremely offensive," he told Fox News. "It's language that should never be used, never be used. ... Those days are not here now."

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who on the Senate floor read from this FoxNews.com article and asked that it be placed in the record, called on Reid to return to the floor and, if not apologize, at least explain what he meant.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., suggested Reid was starting to "crack" under the pressure of the health care reform debate.

"I think it's beneath the dignity of the majority leader," Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., said. "I personally am insulted."

The 'Convicted Felon' behind Obama's socialist blueprint for health care...

roll in Obama's healthcare agenda. In fact, he wrote the
blueprint for the socialist takeover of health care while he
was in prison.




Creamer was the leader of an ACORN related left-wing group
called Citizen Action Illinois. And after an FBI investigation
of Creamer for embezzlement, bank fraud, and tax evasion, he
was convicted and served a year and a half in prison, where
he wrote the blueprint for the progressive (socialist) takeover
of the health care system, in his book: "Listen to Your Mother:
Stand Up Straight! How Progressives Can Win."

But, just like the the spy scandal involving Democratic
Congresswoman Jane Harman (D-Calif.), Schakowsky's scandal
is being swept under the rug, perhaps because of her husband's
key involvement with Obamacare.

Congress has literally turned into a cesspool.

And Americans are slowly awakening to the fact that our political
system is broken beyond repair, and has ceased to work for the
people.

And the reason why it's ceased to work for the people, is
because Congress has been bribed, blackmailed, and completely
bought and paid for by lobbyists.

Illinois Democratic Senator Dick Durbin even openly admitted
it in a moment of frustration when battling for foreclosure
reform, saying...

"And the banks -- hard to believe in a time when we're facing
a banking crisis that many of the banks created -- are still
the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill. And they frankly own the place."

And just in case you think Durbin was exaggerating, here's

There's 15,000 registered lobbyists in Washington D.C., which means
there's 30 lobbyists for every single Senator and Congressman.

And those 15,000 paid lobbyists spend on average $6.5 million
dollars per each member of Congress, who make on average, about
$175k per year.

Do the math...

30 to 1, and $6,500,000.00 to $175k.

You pay them $175k a year, and the lobbyists are throwing
$6.5 million at them. Who do you think they're going to
listen to? Especially when the lobbyists dangle higher
paying jobs as lobbyists, or with NGO's and policy Think Tanks,
if they get voted out of office.

There's no downside for them in ignoring the people when they
are guaranteed higher paying jobs if they get voted out of office.

Why do you think they're rolling over to reform 16% of the
U.S. economy, when 85% of all Americans are perfectly satisfied
with the present US healthcare system?

Why do you think they went ahead with the bankster bailout
when calls and emails were 60:1 against the bill?

Why do you think they passed the Waxman-Markey Cap & Trade
energy bill without ever reading it, when the public was
over-whelmingly against it?

Here's a reality check on how broken our system is.

Did you know that 94% of all legislation passed by the U.S.
Senate is written by lobbyists, is done so in secrecy ( in
committee), and is passed without a vote, and without any
public discussion, or debate?

What is the feeling towards Joe Lieberman? I mean how do you, you know, go into a room without punching the guy out after what he’s done to the progressive movement in this country? I mean, that’s how I think a lot of people feel. What attitude, what attitude — is he still just a beloved, friendly, fraternal senator, or is he a jerk in the room?

The courageous Brown, after hearing the violent tirade against his colleague, replied:

After a boring few weeks, when MSNBC brass must have told the rabid ratings failure to hold things down, Ed’s showing his true colors again. At least he only threatened to clock Lieberman; he invited a Rep. Michelle Bachmann to slit her wrists on his program.

White House using base-closure process to extort Nelson’s vote on ObamaCare?

How desperate has the White House become to get anything passed under the name of health-care reform? According to Michael Goldfarb’s source on Capitol Hill, the Obama administration has targeted the last remaining Democratic holdout, at least among moderates — and they’re willing to damage national security to extort his support. The White House has threatened Ben Nelson (D-NE) with the closure of Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if he opposes Reid’s latest version, despite its status as the headquarters of US Strategic Command:

According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.

Indeed, Offutt is the headquarters for US Strategic Command, the successor to Strategic Air Command, and not by accident.

STRATCOM was located in the middle of the country for strategic reasons. Its closure would be a massive blow to the economy of the state of Nebraska, but it would also be another example of this administration playing politics with our national security.

The Obama administration has little left to use for leverage. Why not national security? After all, if we’re going to bring terrorists into Illinois, what does it matter if we put the US Strategic Command on wheels for a few years?

One reason for the extortion attempt is that the latest version still hasn’t won any converts among the GOP. Susan Collins (R-ME), once considered a likely supporter of ObamaCare, announced today that the elimination of the public option and the Medicare buy-in isn’t enough to rescue the bill:

Today Collins told reporters that the bill under consideration in the Senate is “too deeply flawed for me to support it.”
“I don’t see voting for the current bill that is on the floor, even with the improvements that have been made,” Collins said. “I’m very leery of the impact of nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts, particularly the cuts in home health care, which are completely counterproductive to the goal of lowering costs.”
Collins explained that she is continuing to work on the bill not because she intends to vote for it but because, “I think something is going to pass, and I would like to make that bill as good as possible, even if ultimately it’s not a bill that I can support.”

Collins’ colleague from Maine, Olympia Snowe, is not likely to contradict her, and no other Republicans will cast a vote for this monstrosity. Without the language prohibiting abortion funding, Nelson’s not likely to go for it, either, which leaves Reid at 59 votes — maybe. He may face some rebellion from the progressive side of his caucus, several of whom pledged not to vote for a bill without any kind of public option. Getting Lieberman on board may wind up creating just another problem for Reid … unless the White House intends on threatening more base closures and disruption for national security.

Harkin: Health bill in Nelson's hands

WASHINGTON - Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, said today the health care bill is now in the hands of Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb.

Another holdout, Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, has warmed to the legislation after Democratic leaders agreed to drop both a new government health insurance plan, called the public option, and a proposal to expand Medicare.

"That kind of leaves Mr. Nelson, Senator Nelson, as the last man standing here," Harkin said during a conference call with reporters.

Unless they can find a Republican senator to support the bill, Democrats need every single member of their caucus to stand united to reach the 60 votes necessary to break a filibuster and move the bill forward.

"We’re all working with Ben to try to get him to be our 60th vote," Harkin said.

Nelson has been pushing for the Senate to adopt the same tight restrictions on federal funding of abortion coverage that were approved by the House. Those restrictions are commonly referred to as the "Stupak language."

Nelson has been mulling a compromise on the abortion coverage issue negotiated by anti-abortion Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa. The proposal involves an attempt to separate private and public funds used to purchase insurance coverage.

But Nelson sounded skeptical of the Casey proposal Thursday morning.

"I think Stupak language is the right language," Nelson said on KFOR.

Nelson said other senators are continuing to look for a compromise on the abortion issue.

"I don’t know that they’ll be successful," he said.

On Wednesday, Sen. Mike Johanns and 19 other Republican senators Wednesday called for a hearing into reports that the Obama administration used the future of Offutt Air Force Base as bargaining chip in the health care debate.

Nelson has repeatedly said the rumors are completely false. The White House has called them “absurd.”

A defense analyst said Wednesday that base closures simply don't work that way.

Even Johanns himself said he doesn't believe the rumors.

“When Senator Nelson says it didn't happen, I trust Senator Nelson. I have no reason not to trust him,” Johanns said.

It is true that Nelson is one of the last Democratic holdouts on the health care bill and that he has been in ongoing discussions with the White House. Conservative pundits have cited anonymous sources saying that the White House threatened to close Offutt, home of U.S. Strategic Command, if Nelson did not support the bill.

Johanns said the rumors have reached a level where people in Nebraska are wondering if they're valid.

“It's kind of taken on a life of its own and I think that is very unfortunate,” Johanns said. “So, my hope is that the White House will respond and say ‘This is not how we make these kinds of decisions.'”

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer already released a statement Tuesday that said the rumors were “completely baseless and false.” Pfeiffer issued a fresh statement Wednesday:

“This rumor is absolutely false, as the people spreading it well know. This is nothing but a cynical, crass political game that is designed to maintain the status quo. Let's be clear: the people spreading these falsehoods think nothing is wrong with a system under which families and businesses continue to bear the brunt of skyrocketing costs, insurance companies are allowed to discriminate and drop at will, and thousands of Americans lose their coverage every single day.”

But Johanns said the White House needs to work directly with senators.

"The White House can work with us and say ‘Look, folks, this did not happen. We're happy to appear before whatever committee,'” Johanns said. “I think that really does put this to rest.”

Nelson spokesman Jake Thompson declined to comment on Johanns' call for a hearing on the matter. Earlier Wednesday, Nelson told reporters that the rumors are completely unfounded and are being spread by people with political agendas.

“Their goal is only to derail the serious debate that we're having on health care reform,” Nelson said.

Nelson said that Nebraskans know he cannot be threatened and that if anyone tried to do so, he would go public with it.

Johanns said it's not unusual for politicians to be put in a position where they have to respond to false reports.

Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., said he supports the senators' call for a hearing. “A threat like this would usually sound absurd, except that there has been a culture of strong-arm, Chicago-style politics,” he said.

John Pike, director of GlobalSecurity.org and a leading defense analyst, dismissed the idea that any White House would threaten to close a base for one simple reason — it's too hard to do and it takes too long.

“It would take all the king's horses and all the king's men to close an Air Force base,” Pike said. “While I'm all in favor of a vendetta and vengeance and all that other kind of stuff, I just don't think they could keep up the head of steam for very long.”

Too many people would be in a position to halt the closing of the base and, even if it were eventually closed, Nelson could be well out of office by that time, Pike said.

“The notion that they're just going to go out there and turn the lights off — it doesn't work that way.”

Probe Called for in Sen. Nelson Offutt AFB Blackmail Allegations

A couple of days ago, Michael Goldfarb at the Weekly Standard revealed a quote from a Senate source which said the White House is blackmailing Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) with the threat of putting Offutt Air Force Base in his home state on the next Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) list if Nelson doesn’t support the government health care bill in the Senate.

In the wake of the firestorm created by this allegation, 20 senators including Senator John Thune (R-SD) are calling for a probe into the allegations.

From the Omaha World Herald:

Nebraska’s Sen. Mike Johanns and 19 other Republican senators Wednesday called for a hearing into reports that the Obama administration used the future of Offutt Air Force Base as bargaining chip in the health care debate.

These 20 senators have sent a letter to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) asking for this to be investigated.
According to Action 3 News out of Omaha where the base is located, Nelson says his vote is not for sale.

And of course, both the White House and Nelson are saying the threat never happened.

This is certainly understandable; the White House doesn’t want people openly realizing the kind of Chicago politics they play, and Nelson doesn’t want people thinking he’s vulnerable. And if he gives in and votes for this assault on the American way of life, he doesn’t want people thinking he did it because of the threat.

But Goldfarb isn’t buying it, and neither am I. He said at the Weekly Standard late yesterday

They protest a little too much. I do not know this story is “absolutely false.” To the contrary, I’m confident it’s true. Twenty senators are now calling for an investigation, and each is presumably pretty well sourced in the Senate. If the charges are “absolutely false,” maybe the White House will encourage Senate Democrats to call this Republican bluff. I won’t hold my breath.

Goldfarb also points out what we all know about how liberals see national defense: for them, it’s all about jobs rather than keeping the nation safe. Goldfarb says the White House sees Offutt in terms of the jobs there (and how they can use those as a bargaining chip) rather than the vital role Offutt plays in national defense.

To learn a little more about the importance of Offutt AFB to national defense, read my piece from two days ago; I was stationed there during my 10 years in the Air Force.

Some say the threat would be hard to carry out, and there is some legitimacy to that statement. However, with the White House and Congress in the hands of the same political party, it wouldn’t be difficult at all to get the right dimes dropped to the right people.

Offutt AFB is also not a natural target for BRAC…but then, neither was Ellsworth Air Force Base a few years ago. It somehow ended up on the BRAC list, and Senator John Thune had to work extremely hard (along with a little help from Senator Tim Johnson and Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin) to prove the defense value that should have been obvious.

We know the liberal power players in D.C. aren’t above both bribery and intimidation to get their radical agenda passed. This is just one more allegation that’s in character for how they do business.

The business of freedom, health care and national defense are far too important to be used as playthings by socialist Chicago thugs. This bunch and all like them need to go in 2010 and 2012.

Obama: Do Not Fear; This Health-Care Bill Puts Us on the Edge of a Large, Scary Cliff

It was with an odd statement that Obama announced the progress he had made in meetings with Senate Democrats today on the health-care bill he's desperate to pass by Christmas, no matter what's in it.

“We are on the precipice of an achievement that has eluded Congresses and presidents for generations,” Obama told reporters after meeting with Senate Democrats for about an hour at the White House complex.

If you're thinking to yourself that the word "precipice" has negative connotations, and you're wondering why the great orator would use it to illustrate his grand victory, you have reason to wonder. Here are the two definitions of the word, both quite unnerving when applied to the health-care debate:

1. a cliff with a vertical, nearly vertical, or overhanging face.
2. a situation of great peril:

If Bush had done it, the clip would have been on loop as Freudian proof of Bush's dislike of Americans and his intention to get rid of them via risky health-care overhaul, but when the greatest orator of our time stumbles over his words, nary a newscaster will mention it.
But maybe I'm underestimating Obama. Perhaps his intent was to delve into our collective cultural memory to evoke famous, inspiring cliff imagery from American cinema as a metaphor for his great generational health-care triumph.

You know, like, this one:

Hmm, maybe that's not the one he was going for. What about something more recent?

Nope, still not terribly excited about the precipice, Mr. President.

Well, that's just depressing. One more try:

Well, in that last one, they do at least get out alive, so maybe the President is trying out a new pitch. "Obamacare: You could get off this frightening, sheer cliff face alive, but you will hang in terror for a while unsure about your fate." Come to think of it, that is rather apt. Touché, Mr. President. Touché. Welcome to the precipice.

Obama & Senate Christmas Present to We-the-People: Enslavement

With the phony Senator Ben Nelson’s (D-NE) vote now secured, the Senate and its tyrannical leader Barack Hussein Obama can finally move forward swiftly in its application of forced bondage upon the American people.

Nelson was a pretender to pro-life and anti-abortion measures and held back his “yes” vote on the not-even-completely-written Senate version of ObamaCare until he was also offered—as were other Senators—a huge bribe (with monies from American taxpayers) to secure his being on board with the rest of the Senate’s corrupt members. Nelson’s bribe was that the federal government will—into perpetuity—cover any and all Medicaid expansion costs for the state of Nebraska. The other forty-nine states will be forced to pick up Nebraska’s portion of the bill.

Nelson had acted (with true emphasis given to that word) as the “sole conscience” pro-life holdout in the US Senate. As we now know, Nelson didn’t care about abortion in any way—whatsoever. As the others before him, he just wanted his piece of the Reid & Obama Bribe Pie. Even Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders—an avowed Socialist in the Senate—was promised a $10 Billions bribe for his vote. He, like the others before him, sold what was left of his soul for the money. And please remember, folks, this bribery is being accomplished with OUR money. Therefore We-the-People, whether we like it or not, have been made co-conspirators in the illegal and unconstitutional power play being affected by our now openly-corrupt-and-proud-of-it ‘leaders’. For decades, the US Legislative body (AKA Congress) has been utilizing unconstitutional measures to “get its way” around US laws. Its members’ arrogant response has been that they know its unconstitutional—‘so what?’ and (knowing full well this is not the way checks and balances work) they offer ‘if the judiciary wants it stopped, SCOTUS can step in and stop us’.

With the passage of the ObamaCare Death Plan—vote slated Monday—the Executive and Legislative branches of the US government will now OWN our bodies and will determine what we may and may not do with them, eat and whether or not many of us will even be allowed to live.

Note: If you didn’t vote for or don’t plan to vote for the tyrant next time, your life and the lives of your loved ones may very well be on the line. And don’t forget, Obama has no intention of increasing jobs in the private sector or even getting yours back for you. A poorer, smaller, less-educated and “victimized” population is more easily dominated and controlled by its masters.

Still think Obama’s Cap & Trade won’t pass via the same plan? That’s the bill that will make it virtually impossible for most Americans to afford electricity and Obama’s plan to permanently cripple us and keep us in servitude to him and his minions—forever. As I’ve written and said since before Dictator-in-Chief Obama was elected, in order to ensure he remains in power for an indefinite period of time, Obama and Co will push for illegals’ Amnesty. That will, also, be shoved down our throats via bribes to the Legislators. Again, these are bribes using YOUR money. Votes will no longer be important. We are now almost Venezuela-2 anyway.

Sure…you can continue to send faxes, snail mail, sign petitions, call your lawmakers, march on D.C., protest at Town Hall meetings etc. But, eventually you have to ask yourselves: Have these tactics really worked? The fact is that Congress and the Pretender-to-the-throne Obama refuse to listen. And as long as they have almost all—soon to be ALL—of our money, why would they care? The fact is that they have not cared about anything we have said or done, thus far, and their history tells us that they will not in the future. The vast majority of the American people don’t want the ObamaCare Death Plan or any of the other oppressive programs these governmental bodies are forcing upon us.

So what?

The “leaders” in D.C. view us as a powerless and ineffectual mob. We will be forced to pay for the ObamaCare Death Plan—or go to jail—years before any nebulous benefit is realized by the people; now correctly known as the proletariat. Congress and The Obama will pass any bills they like—whether they have read them or not—if the money and their perks are what they want. The attitude of our rulers is now firmly and overtly: “The American people and their country be damned! They work for us!”

Sen. Whitehouse: foes of health care bill are birthers, right-wing militias, aryan groups

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) today took shots at those who are not supporting the health care legislation. During a floor speech, he excoriated Senate GOP members for up holding the pending health care bill and accused their supporters of being birthers and fanatics in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups. He started off by citing an editorial from the Manchester Journal Inquirer, which used insults like "lunatic fringe.":

Recently, The Editor Of The Manchester Journal Inquirer Editorial Page Wrote Of The Current G.O.P. Which He Called ‘This Once Great And Now Mostly Shameful Party,’ That ‘It Has Gone Crazy, Is More And More Dominated By The Lunatic Fringe And Has Poisoned Itself With Hate.’ He Concluded, ‘They No Longer Want To Govern. They Want To Emote.’ A Well Regarded Philadelphia Columnist Recently Wrote Of The Conservative Paranoia And Lunacy On The Republican Right.”

After explaining why absent GOP members who did not vote for the Department of Defense spending bill was tantamount to a "no" vote, he went on to say that Republicans and their supporters just want to "break" the momentum of President Obama.:

"Voting 'no' and hiding from the vote are the same result. Those of us on the floor see it. It was clear the three of them who did not cast their yes votes until all 60 Senate votes had been tallied and it was clear that the result was a foregone conclusion. And why? Why all this discord and discourtesy, all this unprecedented destructive action? All to break the momentum of our new young president.

They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one."

I approached (AUDIO) Senator Whitehouse following his speech on the floor, and his responses to my questions were puzzling, to say the say the least. Mr. Whitehouse said he stood by his speech, but would not admit that he was accusing anyone who was against the health care bill as racist. He did reiterate that birthers are part of the group that is against the bill and are attacking president However, when I asked the Senator from Rhode Island what he meant by describing those who do not support the bill as "aryan," he responded "No, I didn't say that....again, pay attention to the speech."

According to the transcript above, Mr. Whitehouse did say what he seems to be denying. Perhaps he should pay more attention to what he says on the floor.

Reid: Senate needs to have a 'Rodney King' moment

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday the Senate needs to have a "Rodney King" moment in its healthcare debate.

During a speech on the Senate floor this morning, Reid channeled King, the victim of a 1991 police brutality incident, who made his famous plea for unity after courts acquitted police officers in his beating, sparking the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

"I’ve said to a number of people, Rodney King: ‘Let's just all try to get along,'" Reid said this morning on the Senate floor.

"I said when the Senate opened today and I’ll say again because of the long hours we've spent here for weeks now, there's a lot of tension in the Senate," Reid said. "And feelings are high. And that's fine. Everybody has very strong concerns about everything we have done and have to do."

Rancor has indeed increased during the Senate debate, with a host of recent incidents highlighting the tension between both sides.

This past weekend, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), accused healthcare opponents of being right-wing extremists, while Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) asked people to pray that a senator couldn't make a key vote. (Democrats took that to mean a shot at the sickly Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.).)

"But I would hope that everyone would go back to their gentlemanly ways and I would hope that -- I was trying to figure out how to say this," Reid said, before making his Rodney King remark.

Harry Reid slipped in a provision into the health care legislation prohibiting future Congresses from changing any regulations imposed on Americans by the Independent Medical Advisory Boards, which are commonly called the Death Panels. It is section 3403 from pages 1,000 to 1,0007 of the Reid substitute.

There is established an independent board to be known as the ‘Independent Medicare Advisory Board:
PURPOSE.—It is the purpose of this section to, in accordance with the following provisions of this section, reduce the per capita rate of growth in Medicare spending.

• by requiring the Chief Actuary of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to determine in each year to which this section applies the projected per capita growth rate under Medicare for the second year following the determination year.
• If the projection for the implementation year exceeds the target growth rate for that year, by requiring the Board to develop and submit during the first year following the determination year this a proposal containing recommendations to reduce the Medicare per capita growth rate to the extent required by this section by requiring the Secretary to implement such proposals unless Congress enacts legislation pursuant to this section.

Funny how the liberals at Politifact (Death Panels: Lie of the Year) or the St. Petersburg Times are so blinded by their liberalism they actually do no fact checking. On top of that they miss the underlining characteristics of all government agencies and the services they provide. All governments are incredibly inefficient, wasteful and always provide lower quality compared to the private sector faced with competition. To lower costs they are incapable of becoming efficient and will always resort to reducing services. Government health care is no different but our lives are directly affected. Death Panels have been in every health care bill which includes dozens of advisory boards, panels and committees with the responsibility of reducing costs at our expense.

But what can you say, like any gullible fool who thought for even a milli-second that Obama is qualified or worthy to be president has severe judgement problems. So when those that voted for and supported the disaster Obama speak of Sarah Palin all we need to do is simply apply the opposite.

Senate Marxist Reid To make it almost Impossible to Repeal ObamaCare

Every day the news coming out of Washington D.C. just gets worse and worse. Just when I thought I could no longer be shocked by the totalitarian Senate and Executive branch, I was…and am. On Monday, the Marxist-run Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid decided that he would make it virtually impossible for the American people to overcome Congress’ Machiavellian ObamaCare Death Plan. Betrayal is now the operating agenda of both the US Congress and Executive branch.

On the advice of the Marxist Senate “Parliamentarian”, using an illegal “procedural” measure, Marxist Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) wrote an amendment to ObamaCare Section 3403 that states “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.” RedState reports that this “applies to regulations imposed on doctors and patients by the Independent Medicare Advisory Boards a/k/a the Death Panels.”

Although this change in Senate rules requires 67 senatorial votes, Reid decided to pass it as a ‘procedural matter’. Clearly, Reid is illegally and unconstitutionally changing the rules to better ensure that his and Obama’s totalitarian control of the American people is absolute and forever. It will require 67 votes to overturn the portion of ObamaCare that provides for the Medicare Death Panels that will decide who will die. But, the 67 votes required to make this change has been ignored by our Marxist government.

Does anyone out there still think the government is working FOR us?
