    Pigeon Hole?

Does Glenn Beck know something's coming and is trying to insulate himself?

Now he asks for everyone to pledge an oath of non-violence and give their name and town location,
    regardless what the governments does.

What was it that Patrick Henry said at the House of Burgesses?

    Pledge of Nonviolence

    April 23, 2010 - 5:16 ET

Below is the Pledge of Nonviolence that Martin Luther King, Jr. asked those who believed in his message to abide by as well as his core principles of nonviolence.
I am going to ask you to make the same commitment to nonviolence and give you the opportunity to make that pledge public by having you ‘sign’ these documents below. -glenn

    Pledge of Nonviolence
    1. As you prepare to march meditate on the life and teachings of Jesus
    2. Remember the nonviolent movement seeks justice and reconciliation - not victory.
    3. Walk and talk in the manner of love; for God is love.
    4. Pray daily to be used by God that all men and women might be free.
    5. Sacrifice personal wishes that all might be free.
    6. Observe with friend and foes the ordinary rules of courtesy.
    7. Perform regular service for others and the world.
    8. Refrain from violence of fist, tongue and heart.
    9. Strive to be in good spiritual and bodily health.
    10. Follow the directions of the movement leaders and of the captains on demonstrations.

    The Five Principles of Nonviolence

    1. Non-violent resistance is not a method for cowards. It does resist. The nonviolent resister is just as strongly opposed to the evil against which he protests, as is the person who uses violence.

His method is passive or nonaggressive in the sense that he is not physically aggressive toward his opponent, but his mind and emotions are always active, constantly seeking to persuade the opponent that he is mistaken.

This method is passive physically but strongly active spiritually; it is nonaggressive physically but dynamically aggressive spiritually.

    2. Nonviolent resistance does not seek to defeat or humiliate the opponent, but to win his friendship and understanding.

The nonviolent resister must often express his protest through noncooperation but he realizes that noncooperation is not the ends itself; it is merely means to awaken a sense of moral shame in the opponent.

    3. The attack is directed against forces of evil rather than against persons who are caught in those forces. It is a struggle between justice and injustice, between the forces of light and the forces of darkness.

    4. Nonviolent resistance avoids not only external physical violence, but also internal violence of spirit. At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.

    5. Nonviolence is based on the conviction that the universe is on the side of justice. It is the deep faith in the future that allows a nonviolent resister to accept suffering without retaliation. The nonviolent resister knows that in his struggle for justice, he has a cosmic companionship.

Five arrested in Gwinnett, Georgia for having explosive devices

    By Mike Morris

    The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Five arrested in Gwinnett for having explosive devices

Five people were arrested by Gwinnett County police after an officer discovered explosive devices in their vehicle during a routine traffic stop.

After making the traffic stop Monday on North Price Road, the officer "developed suspicions that the vehicle he had encountered might be ferrying some sort of contraband," Gwinnett police spokesman Brian Kelly said Wednesday.

The officer asked for consent to search the vehicle and "discovered two suspicious objects in the passenger compartment," Kelly said.

A bomb squad and firefighters were sent to the scene, and officers x-rayed the objects "and were able to quickly confirm that they were explosive devices," Kelly said.

"After examination and analysis, fire investigators concluded that the two devices were manufactured with the intent to cause great bodily harm or even death," Kelly said.

Police arrested four people at the scene of the traffic stop, and took a fifth person into custody when they went to search a Buford home associated with those arrested.

Kelly said that at the house on Line Street, officers found more items "consistent with the materials used to manufacture the two destructive devices."

Police arrested William Dale Parten, 41, of Buford, Phillip Ray Duncan, 54, of Buford, Shirley Maddox, 62, of Buford, Michael Brewer, 42, of Winder and Matthew Henry Rothove, 44, of Flowery Branch. All are being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond, charged with possession of an explosives device.

"The true intent and motive for the manufacturing and possession of the destructive devices is still unknown at this time," Kelly said.

Obama's Long and Evolving Enemies List

    by Chris Stirewalt | October 12, 2010

Since taking office President Obama and his team have been through a litany of Republican targets before the current crusade against Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Going back to the early weeks of the Obama administration, Power Play can detect a shifting and sometimes obscure demonology of the president's political foes.

Lots of Republicans have criticized President Obama or Democratic policies over the past two years, but the administration has been selective about deciding which criticism to answer, and which to not elevate by response.

Witness how the administration has treaded carefully around Sarah Palin questions since Robert Gibbs' bringing up her "death panels" accusation in August of 2009. Gibbs took a Palin tweet and made it into the buzzword for the long, angry months leading up to the eventual passage of the president's health care law. That's not good branding.

While Gibbs would mock Palin five months later for writing notes on her hand, questions about the former Alaska governor are now mostly met by those in the administration with words like "interesting" or "fascinating." Obama campaign manager David Plouffe did suggest in a strategy call with reporters last week that Palin was Obama's preferred 2012 foe, but the administration has been at pains not to create a Obama-Palin rivalry.

The same can be said of other Republicans who take shots at the administration: Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana during the battle over oil spill response, Gov. Chris Christie of Louisiana and the fight over federal funding for schools, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas and Obama restrictions on the oil industry, and even Gov. Jan Brewer on the subject of illegal immigration.

A foe who represents a potential rival or is attacking on an issue that looks bad for the president may be brushed off, while the criticism of one the administration thinks a more attractive target gets both barrels from Team Obama.

The target is one who in which excites great anger among the president's liberal base.

    First there was Rush Limbaugh:

"He is the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. And he has been upfront about what he views and hasn't stepped back from that, which is he hopes for failure. He said it, and I compliment him for his honesty, but that's their philosophy that is enunciated by Rush Limbaugh."

-- Then-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel on "Face the Nation," March 1, 2009.

    Then there was Dick Cheney:

"Well, I guess Rush Limbaugh was busy, so they trotted out the next most popular member of the Republican cabal."

-- Press secretary Robert Gibbs in the March 16, 2009 press briefing when asked about an interview featuring Cheney on CNN the previous day.

There has always been George W. Bush:

"On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics."

-- President Obama, inaugural address, Jan 20, 2009.

Of late, and in quick succession have been House Minority Leader John Boehner:

"For years, Republicans have fought to keep these corporate loopholes open. In fact, when Mr. Boehner was here in Cleveland he attacked us for closing a few of these loopholes -- and using the money to help states like Ohio keep hundreds of thousands of teachers and cops and firefighters on the job. Mr. Boehner dismissed these jobs we saved -- teaching our kids, patrolling our streets, rushing into burning buildings -- as "government jobs" -- jobs I guess he thought just weren't worth saving."

-- President Obama, speaking at a campaign even in Parma, Ohio, Sept. 8, 2010.

    Karl Rove:

"Right here in Illinois, in this Senate race, two groups funded and advised by Karl Rove have outspent the Democratic Party two to one in an attempt to beat Alexi -- two to one. Funded and advised by Karl Rove. Just this week, we learned that one of the largest groups paying for these ads regularly takes in money from foreign sources. So the question for the people of Illinois is, are you going to let special interests from Wall Street and Washington and maybe places beyond our shores come to this state and tell us who our senator should be?

That's not just a threat to Democrats. That's a threat to our democracy."

-- President Obama at a campaign event in Chicago, Oct. 7, 2010.

    Ed Gillespie:

"What we've seen in part because of a loophole that the Supreme Court allowed earlier this year, we now see tens of millions of dollars being spent by ... a number of organizations, some of which just cropped up.

Ed Gillespie and Karl Rove run one of them. Tens of millions of dollars from undisclosed donors under benign names like the American Crossroads Fund. And they're spending heavily in all of these elections."

-- Senior White House Adviser David Axelrod on "Face the Nation," Oct. 10, 2010.

And the U.S. Chamber of Commerce:

"I challenge the Chamber of Commerce to tell us how much of the money they're investing is from foreign sources." "I challenge them, if I'm wrong I will stand corrected. But show me, show me."

-- Vice President Joe Biden speaking at a campaign event in Scranton, Pa, Oct. 11, 2010

Ted Nugent: "I Will Be Dead Or In Jail" If Obama Is Re-Elected

Photo Credit: Doug James / Shutterstock.com

Rocker, noted conservative and speaker of "self-evident truth and irrefutable logic" Ted Nugent already endorsed Mitt Romney for President last month, while saying some things about President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton that would have landed an average man on the Secret Service's watch list by now.
The Motor City Madman—emphasis on "madman"—spoke at the National Rifle Association's annual convention over the weekend and urged attendees to vote for Mitt, and added he would not tolerate another four years of an Obama administration.
"If Barack Obama becomes the President in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said over the weekend, urging each person to get a "couple of thousand" people to cast their ballot for Mitt Romney. "If you can't galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, we're done," Nugent said, at one point adding, "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
Nugent, who freely exercises his right to bear arms and call the president "a piece of shit" who should "suck on his machine gun" at concerts, accused the government of "wiping its ass" with the Constitution. He only endorsed Romney after extracting a promise from the former Massachusetts governor that he would not propose any gun laws if elected. We miss the days when he sang only of "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang."

Nugent's comments from the NRA convention are below.

[Update] 1:10 p.m. And the Secret Service is investigating Nugent's remarks. A Secret Service spokesman confirmed to New York magazine's "Daily Intel" blog, "We are aware of it, and we'll conduct an appropriate follow up."

If the Secret Service's self-evident truth and irrefutable logic concludes that Nugent's remarks are a threat to the president, that is a Class D felony that carries a prison sentence of five-to-10 years.

There has been precedent in this over the years. Most recently Brian Dean MIller, a Dallas man upset with Congress' passage of health care reform, was charged in 2010 with making threatening remarks to President Obama after he posted an ad on Craigslist calling for Obama's death. Later in 2010 Michael Stephen Bowden, a 77-year-old veteran who kept loaded guns at his bedside, was arrested with threatening to kill Obama because "he is not doing enough to help African Americans." (Bowden is white.)

Secret Service looking into Ted Nugent's violent anti-Obama rant

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Secret Service is reportedly investigating faded '70s rock star Ted Nugent for his recent insistence he'll be "dead or in jail" in a year's time if President Barack Obama is re-elected in November.

At a convention of the National Rifle Association over the weekend, the longtime gun advocate compared Obama and the Democrats to a coyote who should be shot.

"It isn't the enemy that ruined America," he said as he reaffirmed his endorsement of Republican front-runner Mitt Romney.

"It's good people who bent over and let the enemy in. If the coyote's in your living room pissing on your couch, it's not the coyote's fault. It's your fault for not shooting him."

He accused the Obama administration of being "evil" and "America-hating."

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," he said angrily. "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November."

He then told his audience of proud gun-owners that if they failed to "clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

The Secret Service says it's aware of the weekend remarks and is looking into them.

The Romney campaign, meantime, attempted to distance itself from Nugent on Tuesday, undoubtedly regretting the former Massachusetts governor's comments last month to a Missouri radio show: "It's been fun getting to know Ted Nugent."

"Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from," Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in an email to reporters. "Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil."

The Democratic National Committee called on Romney to strongly condemn the remarks by Nugent, best known for his late '70s hit "Cat Scratch Fever."

"Threatening violence — or whatever it is that Nugent's threatening — is clearly beyond the pale, but Nugent's not the one running for president," said DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

At the daily White House press briefing on Tuesday, spokesman Jay Carney wouldn't comment on Nugent's remarks.

"We can't be policing the statement of supporters across the board. The president is focused on the issues," he said.

Nugent, however, was unapologetic, telling conservative radio host Dana Loesch that his incendiary remarks were "100 per cent positive."

"I will stand by my speech," he said, and then upped the ante by heaping more scorn on Democrats, describing Wasserman Schultz as a "brain-dead, soulless, heartless idiot."

Nancy Pelosi, minority leader for the House of Representatives, he added, is a "sub-human scoundrel."

Nugent also claimed the generally mild-mannered Romney agreed with his remarks.

"Mitt Romney knows what I'm saying is true. He puts it into words for him, I put it into words for me," he said.

The Secret Service Is Looking Into Ted Nugent's Potential Threat Against President Obama

    Brett LoGiurato | Apr. 17, 2012, 5:25 PM | 1,381 | 35

So, over the weekend at the National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis, Ted Nugent said that "if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

Now the Secret Service is looking into the comment.

"We are aware of it, and we are conducting an appropriate follow-up," Secret Service spokesman told Business Insider via phone. He did not say if the agency was treating the statement as a threat against the President.

Oh, and Nugent has also endorsed Mitt Romney, which has prompted Democrats to turn this into their own sort of Hilary Rosen situation.

Nugent's interview, video of which is below via Right Wing Watch, is one of mind-boggling proportions, even for the outlandish statements the "Motor City Madman" has made in the past. He gets into it around the 1:40 mark in the first video, and calls the Obama administration "vile, evil and America-hating." He calls Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "criminals." And he warns that if Obama is elected, the U.S. will become "a suburb of Indonesia."

Before that statement, which caused the most controversy, there is the completely plausible (read: not plausible at all) analogy of Obama and other Democrats to coyotes.

"If the coyote's in your living room, p*ssing on your couch, it's not the coyotes fault. It's your fault for not shooting him," Nugent said. Several supporters in the background say, "That's right."

He moves onto more mainstream, but crucial, talking points of "I'm not taking this crap anymore" and "Leave my paycheck alone" before he goes back to the crazy — a Braveheart analogy.

"We are patriots. We are Braveheart," Nugent said. "We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions?"
Well, yes, a lot of questions, actually.

Anyway, the Democratic National Committee has released a statement from Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz calling on Romney to condemn Nugent's statements. She also refers to Nugent as a "Romney surrogate."

"Mitt Romney surrogate Ted Nugent made offensive comments about President Obama and November’s elections this weekend that are despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale. He called the Administration 'vile,' 'evil' and 'America-hating,' and said much worse. Yet what have we heard from Mitt Romney and the Republican Party, who should be outraged that someone representing them is using language like this to make a political point? Absolutely nothing."

You might remember back in 2007, when Ted Nugent was again being crazy and made what some thought were threats against Obama. He told him then to "suck on" a couple of machine guns he was holding up.

He endorsed Mitt Romney back when it still wasn't completely cool to do so, after a "long heart&soul conversation." That's when his son, Tagg, tweeted this:

Secret Service Investigates Ted Nugent Remarks on Obama

Email 0 Smaller Font Text Larger Text | Print

The U.S. Secret Service is looking into the incendiary and potentially threatening remarks made by rocker and Mitt Romney-backer Ted Nugent at the National Rifle Association convention over the weekend.

“We are aware of them and we are conducting the appropriate follow-up now,” Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie told ABC News.

Nugent told a crowd of convention goers that “if Barack Obama becomes the president in November, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

“If you can’t go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don’t even know what you’re made of,” he said. The comments were caught on tape and posted online by the website Right Wing Watch.

The Democratic National Committee and Obama campaign have launched a multimedia offensive against Romney over Nugent, demanding that the presumptive GOP nominee disavow the statements of his high-profile supporter.

But the White House today refused to join in the condemnation and said that it won’t be “policing the statements of supporters across the board.”

“The president is focused on the issues,” said White House spokesman Jay Carney, when asked by ABC News about Nugent’s remarks.

“I think a lot of this other stuff is noise. And I think most Americans are pretty sophisticated consumers of the news, especially as we get closer to the elections, and pretty sophisticated evaluators of the men and women who put themselves forward to be president,” he said.

When asked whether the president supports demands from DNC officials, Carney deflected the question.

“I haven’t seen the comments that you’re referring to by others. The president’s focused on doing his job. He has made the point that, you know — you know, we can’t as a general rule police the statements of every supporter. I think best to just abide by the kind of standards of behavior and rhetoric yourself,” he said.

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul on Tuesday offered the first public comment on the Nugent controversy, saying that “everyone needs to be civil.”

“Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from,” Saul said in a statement.

Nugent endorsed Romney on Twitter in March after apparently having a “long heart and soul conversation” with the former governor and has been an outspoken advocate for his election to the presidency.

Secret Service Probing Ted Nugent’s Obama Comments After DNC Rep. Goes on 30-Tweet Rampage

Posted on April 17, 2012 at 4:57pm by Becket Adams

    Comments (458)

Note: the Secret Service is now apparently involved. See the update at the bottom of the story.

First it was DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz who was awfully upset with Tea Partying rock star Ted Nugent for comments he made at the NRA’s national convention in St. Louis on Saturday.

Now it’s DNC Press Secretary Melanie Roussell’s turn to be shocked that Ted Nugent, nicknamed “The Motor City Madman,” made some controversial remarks.

“Our government is wiping it’s a– with the Constitution,” Nugent said before a gathering of NRA attendees this past weekend.

“We’ve got four Supreme Court justices who don’t believe in the Constitution. Does everyone here know that four of the Supreme Court justices not only determined you don’t have the right to keep and bear arms, four Supreme Court justices signed their name to a declaration that Americans have no fundamental right to self-defense?” Nugent asked.

Watch excerpts from the Nuge’s interview here [Caution- mild language]:

Nugent called on the NRA attendees to go home and recruit “everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration.”

“If you can’t galvanize and promote and recruit people to vote for Mitt Romney, we’re done. We’ll be a suburb of Indonesia next year,” Nugent said. “Our president, attorney general, vice president, Hillary Clinton–they’re criminals. They’re criminals. Who doesn’t know the crimes our government are committing?”

“If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” Nugent added.

“And if you take that adamant ‘we the people’ defiance,” Nugent continued, “We’re Americans because we defy the king. We didn’t negotiate and compromise with the king. We defied the emperors. We are patriots. We are bravehearts.”

He concluded with a battle metaphor: “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November! Any questions?”

Not long after the NRA interview, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Tweeted the following:

But that was mild compared to what Melanie Roussell was about to unleash.

“Not content to let Debbie Wasserman Schultz have all the mock-worthy thunder regarding Ted Nugent’s comments,” the Twitchy staff writes, “DNC press secretary Melanie Roussell took to Twitter in a bit of a snit.”

At last count, there were over 30 Tweets from Roussell’s account concerning Nugent. As the story grows, there will probably be more.

“No word yet if she’s planning a snit over the despicable Bill Maher or Hilary Rosen,” the Twitchy staff writes, “but The Nuge? ZOMG worst thing ever!”
“Look to your own backyard first, cupcake,” the site added. “This includes vile people whose money the President refuses to return and mom-bashers who have visited him at the White House at least thirty-five times.”

Click here to see plenty more Tweets from the DNC press secretary calling for Mitt Romney to decry Ted Nugent.

    UPDATE:
Apparently, Ted Nugent’s “in jail or dead” comment isn’t sitting well with Secret Service.

“We are aware of it, and we’ll conduct an appropriate follow up,” a spokesman for the Secret Service told New York magazine.

In addition, the DNC has drafted an online petition demanding Mitt Romney denounce “Nugent’s hateful speech.”

Nugent talked about the controversy with frequent Beck radio guest host Joe “Pags” Pagliarulo:

Lastly, while being interviewed by conservative talk show host Dana Loesch Tuesday, Nugent refused to apologize for Saturday’s remarks and said they were “100 percent positive,” the New York Times reports.

    Update II:

Nugent is definitely not backing down from his comments.

“I will stand by my speech,” Nugent told Loesch, adding that Wasserman Schultz as a “brain-dead, soulless, heartless idiot.”

    Update III:
Hear Nugent’s interview with Dana Loesch:

When in doubt, Ted'll whip it out.

But seriously, I read Ted's comments more along the lines of him referring to gun ownership becoming criminalized during a second Obama term and him simply taking "from my cold, dead hands" to heart. No direct threat to Zero.

Who knows? Maybe Nugent's comments and his position will become a fountainhead for a new political movement, one with some conviction. When in doubt, read comments spoken by Samuel Adams back in the Revolutionary War era. Lends some perspective. If only we were as enthusiastic about our liberty now as most were then.

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.

Ponder this, why is a carrot more orange than an Orange? Ted speaks his mind, so when he speaks sunshine, he breathes fire.

I think in the end, he's just a good natured Emma.

Secret Service on Nugent Meeting: ‘The Issue Has Been Resolved’

    Posted on April 19, 2012 at 4:28pm

    AP

Ted Nugent’s interview with the Secret Service over comments he made about President Barack Obama’s re-election concluded Thursday, with the agency saying “the issue has been resolved” and that it “does not anticipate any further action.”

“I met with two fine, professional Secret Service agents in [Oklahoma] today,” Nugent, 63, said in a statement after the meeting. “Good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better. I thanked them for their service, we shook hands and went about our business. God bless the good federal agents wherever they may be.”

Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary told the Washington Post after the interview that “the issue has been resolved” and the agency “does not anticipate any further action.”

Nugent said during an NRA convention over the weekend that if the president is re-elected in November, “I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

He first revealed on Glenn Beck’s radio program that he was set to meet with agents.

Military cancels Ted Nugent show citing anti-Obama comments

    Steve Marcus / Reuters

By Paul Bond, The Hollywood Reporter

Citing inflammatory language while expressing his displeasure with President Barack Obama, the military has uninvited rock star and conservative political activist Ted Nugent from performing at Fort Knox in Kentucky, according to the U.S. Army post’s Facebook page.

“After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation," it's Facebook posting says.

So far, the June 23 concert remains on the Fort Knox schedule, with REO Speedwagon and Styx listed as “co-headliners,” but army personnel said they will grant requests for refunds in light of their decision to nix the opening act.

The cancellation is the latest wrinkle in a controversy that has engulfed Nugent since last weekend when, speaking at an NRA convention, the rocker said that he would be “dead or in jail” if Obama is reelected in November.

Also referring to Obama and Democratic candidates in general, he told the NRA faithful: “We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.”

Use of the violent metaphors earned Nugent a visit from Secret Service agents on Thursday. He said Friday on his website that he had with them a “good, solid professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence toward anyone.”

A spokesman for Fort Knox told TheBlaze.com that having Nugent perform “would be a conflict of interest since the military has the obligation to be apolitical.”

Such a claim, though, seems dubious when it comes to choosing entertainers, who oftentimes show their partisanship. At its website, for example, Fort Knox is touting an appearance this month by comedian Jay Phillips who is supportive of Obama through his Twitter activities. And Ludacris has performed at U.S. Army bases even after the 2008 release of his pro-Obama song “Politics As Usual,” which calls Hillary Clinton, who was running against Obama at the time, a “bitch” who is “irrelevant.” The ultra-partisan song also called President George W. Bush “mentally handicapped” and says that Sen. John McCain "don't belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed.”

Nugent: Secret Service meeting 'couldn't have gone better'

Fort Knox personnel did not return calls or emails requesting clarification on their “obligation to be apolitical” in their entertainment selections.

Comments at the Fort Knox Facebook page have been running about 3-1 against the decision to boot Nugent from the concert.

“He is such a supporter of the troops. Such a shame that he was canceled for expressing his freedom of speech. This is America, if you have not forgot,” one commenter wrote.

“I thought that freedom of speech was one of the very same things that our military fought for. When Obama said he was going to change the military, he did. He made them cowards. Shame on you Fort Knox,” said another.

And on the flip side: “Anyone who threatens a U.S. president like that should not be allowed on a military installation. No matter which party he affiliates himself with. Good decision.”
