Personally I think I would have preferred to have seen men geared up just as well or better than the Feds on the front line as a show of strength.

No. It sends a 'right wing kook" message. Like it or not, the left has painted anyone who wears camo and plate carriers as dangerously insane and the media would have had a field day with it.

Cowboys in hats and jeans sends the message that these are normal working folk opposing an injustice.

The alternative lib media like DU, Huffpo etc were shouting for the feds to light 'em up.

IF the lead starts to fly then camo will be the gear of the patriot and the black ninja suits of the feds will mean traitor.

What you said is very sad because that's NOT how this country should be run.

The citizens stand up to a wrong - perceived wrong anyway - and then they get "wisked away" or whatever.

That is called political tyranny.... and if it happens it will merely confirm what we've all believed all along. The Government is too big and tyrannical.

Political repercussions already happen for whistleblowers, conservative groups and others who oppose the tyranny of the left. There is nothing to confirm that hasn't already been confirmed. It's really just an issue of when the feds start shooting.

I'm not a 3 percenter, but I know how this is going to play out. Someone has to die for the loss of face that occurred to the feds in Nevada. It will likely happen in mysterious ways...like one man accidents on rainy nights.

I do understand that political repercussions have happened already - but most people write those off as "one lone kook bucking the system" or whatever.

When a gathering happens like that in Nevada - and the Left starts screaming for blood you KNOW they are the ones pulling for a fight - and they fail to realize that this is going to backfire on them way worse than it will on the other side.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The rural Nevada showdown between federal government officials and militia members protecting rancher Cliven Bundy has evolved into a battle of government “tyranny,” with many newly arriving militiamen rolling in to draw a line in the dirt about 70 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Many with camouflage clothing and burly beards, the militiamen coming from as far as Montana are being welcomed by Bundy’s local family and friends who have already set up camp on the sun-scorched plot of land to protest the Bureau of Land Management’s controlling of the 150 miles of desert where Bundy says his family has ranched for decades – long before the BLM was created.

“They’re here to protect Cliven’s family and home,” Lynn Brown, one of Bundy’s daughters, told the Las Vegas Sun.

Tensions boiled over earlier this week, with a series of online videos showing agents using stun guns, German Shepherds, and reports that agents knocked one of Bundy’s daughters to the ground in attacks some are labeling “brutal.”

The standoff has mobilized Operation Mutual Aid, a national militia that draws members from California to Missouri, to “set up camp” to defend the property from what they say is a fight for freedom.

“This is a better education than being in school! I’m glad I brought you. I’m a good mom,” Ilona Ence, a 49-year-old mother from St. George and Bundy relative who brought her four teenage childrento the ranch, told the Las Vegas Sun. “They’re learning about the Constitution.”

Ence’s teenage sons posted up a sign on the land voicing their opinion of what the federal government officials should be doing: “CONTROL OUR BORDERS! NOT OUR RANCHERS!”

Other protesters set up “Free Speech Zones” near the closed-off federal land. Another sign reads, “TYRANNY IS ALIVE” and “WHERE’S THE JUSTICE?”

Images of the forced cattle roundup on a rural Nevada range have sent ripples through the West, prompting elected officials in several states to weigh in, militia members to mobilize and federal land managers to reshape elements of the operation. Videos posted to YouTube and various conservative media outlets are equating the event to the Branch Davidian standoff in Waco, Tex. that left 76 dead in 1993.

Bureau of Land Management officials dismantled designated protest areas as the fight over Cliven Bundy’s cattle widened into a debate about states’ rights and federal land-use policy. Federal officials say Bundy has racked up more than $1.1 million in unpaid grazing fees over the years while disregarding several court orders to remove his animals.

Nevada state Assemblywoman Michele Fiore said Friday that people are standing up for important land rights.

The Republican from Las Vegas says she’s horrified that BLM police used stun guns on one of Bundy’s sons during a Wednesday confrontation on a state highway.

Several Republican lawmakers from Arizona say they plan to travel to the site to protest what they call government heavy-handedness.

MESQUITE, Nev. - A day after blinking in a showdown on the range, federal land managers pledged to pursue efforts to resolve a conflict with a southern Nevada rancher who has refused to pay grazing fees for 20 years.
Bureau of Land Management spokesman Craig Leff said the agency would continue to try to resolve the matter involving rancher Cliven Bundy "administratively and judicially." Bundy owes more than $1 million in grazing fees, according to the bureau.
"The door isn't closed. We'll figure out how to move forward with this," he said Sunday. He declined to comment on possible options.
Bundy did not respond to requests for comment.
The fight between Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management widened into a debate about states' rights and federal land-use policy. Bundy does not recognize federal authority on land he insists belongs to Nevada. The debate over who is right became so heated that a self-described armed local militia has come to his aide.

However, even some of Bundy's own neighbors don't buy his arguments, reports CBS affiliate KLAS in Las Vegas.
"I feel that the rule of law supercedes armed militias coming in from all over the country to stand with a law-breaking rancher, which is what he is" Mesquite resident Elaine Hurd told KLAS.

Nevada rancher gets cattle back after feud with feds

On Saturday, the bureau released about 400 head of cattle it had seized from Bundy back to him only hours after announcing a premature halt to the roundup due to safety concerns. The operation, expected to take up to a month, ended after only a week.
The cattle were freed after hundreds of states' rights protesters, some of them armed militia members, showed up at corrals outside Mesquite to demand the animals' release.
Las Vegas Police Lt. Dan Zehnder told The Associated Press that Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie was able to negotiate a resolution after talking with Bundy.
But Leff stressed that the bureau did not take part in the negotiations.
"The BLM and National Park Service did not cut any deal and negotiate anything," he said. "There was no deal we made."
The several hundred cows gathered during the roundup were short of the BLM's goal of 900 cows that it says have been trespassing on U.S. land without required grazing permits for over 20 years.
The showdown over Bundy's cattle was the latest chapter in the Sagebrush Rebellion, which was launched by Nevada lawmakers in the 1970s in an attempt to turn control of federal land to the states.
Environmentalists accused the bureau of capitulating to threats of violence from armed Bundy supporters and urged them to pursue action against the rancher.
"The BLM has a sacred duty to manage our public lands in the public interest, to treat all users equally and fairly," said Rob Mrowka, senior scientist with the Center for Biological Diversity. "Instead it is allowing a freeloading rancher and armed thugs to seize hundreds of thousands of acres of the people's land as their own fiefdom."
"The BLM is setting a dangerous precedent in announcing that it will pick and choose who has to follow federal laws and who it will reward for violating them," he added.
Leff declined to comment, reiterating that the bureau's top concern was the safety of its employees and the public.
In April 2012, the Center for Biological Diversity filed a notice of intent to sue the bureau for canceling a planned roundup of Bundy's cattle at the last minute.
The dispute that ultimately triggered last week's roundup dates to 1993, when the bureau cited concern for the federally protected desert tortoise in the region.
The bureau was implementing two federal court orders issued last year to remove Bundy's cattle after making repeated efforts to resolve the matter outside court.

Why the Feds Tucked Tail on the Nevada Ranch

Let me obliterate a bit of confusion here: the Obama administration attempted to go to war with a rancher in Nevada. Let me amplify a little bit of truth: They tucked tail and have returned home. And let me add a bit of clarity: they had no choice!


As the nation began to become familiar with the plight of the family of Cliven Bundy, many of us harkened back to another standoff in which the Federal government attempted to bully it's outcome: Waco, Texas and the Branch Davidian massacre.


It is telling that in the Nevada case the feds pulled out so quickly, given all they had indicated they were willing to do to resolve the matter to their satisfaction. They had set up a perimeter around the Bundy's family land, ranch, and home. They had brought in extra artillery, dogs, and snipers. They were beginning the process of stealing more than 300 head of cattle that did not belong to them.


They did so--or so we were told--for the reason of protecting the desert tortoise. But then it was revealed that the Bureau of Land Management had shot far more desert tortoises than the Bundy cattle had even possibly destroyed. We were told they did it because the Bundys had broken federal laws by not paying what amounted to retroactive grazing fees to the federal government. But the Governor of the state of Nevada told us that Bundy had paid every ounce of state tax, met the state requirements, and their family had been improving the property more than 100 years previous.


Finally we were allowed to know the connection between a communist Chinese wind/solar power plant and its connection to that senator named Harry Reid. Evidently a plan had been hatched to use the Bundy property for a solar farm and instead of paying the Bundys, someone, somewhere in the administration believed it was easier to just take what they wanted.


That approach is at least consistent with the readily documented abuse of eminent domain where the government for any number of reasons--few of them valid--have taken to taking what doesn't belong to them. Americans then watch as it gets handed over to some multi-national corporation for the "cause" of the "greater good."


There were a few specific reasons why the feds chickened out in the Nevada desert though.


1. Technology - As the Bundy family members were abused, cameras captured it. Not television network cameras, but dozens of cell phone video devices that gave witness to a Bundy aunt being shoved to the ground, and a Bundy son being tazed. All of this while threatening protestors with dogs, brandished weapons and vehicles was captured, uploaded and made viral to the watching world.


2. States' Rights - As the drama unfolded it became clear that the Governor of Nevada, and the Sheriff of Clark County knew that Cliven Bundy's family had not only not broken any state law regarding the land, but that they had gone to the enth degree to insure compliance with Nevada laws on the property. The Governor and the Sheriff, to their credit, did not favor the feds as a more powerful party in the conflict. Though there must have been pressure from Senator Reid's office, the administration via the Bureau of Land Management, and local officials who were bought and sold like the Clark County Commissioner who told those coming to support the Bundys to have "funeral plans in place."


3. Grassroots Response - As other incidents have transpired in the past, the amount of time it took honest information to reach the grassroots and thus the response to the action came to slow. In the massacre in Waco, most of the nation had been sold a single narrative from the limited media outlets covering the events. Similarly the events surrounding the abduction of Elian Gonzales from his family in Florida and deportation to Cuba took place in such a response vacuum that by the time Americans knew the real story, the damage was done. With the Bundy ranch, internet outlets by the dozen had competing information with the limited "official news" being released by the networks, and in most cases the alternative sources had it correct and usually a full day or so ahead of the news cycle. By the time afternoon drive hit, when the network news rooms in New York were preparing their first stories, talk radio audiences had already been dialing their elected officials in Washington demanding action.

The majority of Americans saw through the efforts to spin the story in Nevada.

The tense stand-off between hundreds of protesters and police has ended in the Nevada desert, forcing the authorities to cancel the round-up of 300 animals and to return the cattle to their owner.
The standoff between rancher Cliven Bundy and the US Bureau of Land Management has lasted over a week, after hundreds of armed agents with the United States Bureau of Land Management and the FBI turned up in the Clark County to execute the court-ordered confiscation of nearly 1,000 cattle. The US government says the animals have trespassed on federal property.
This provoked a fierce backlash from anti-government groups, right-wing politicians and gun-rights activists, who gathered near 67-year-old Cliven Bundy’s farmhouse to support him in the standoff against the government.
At the height of the protests, there were about 1,000 protesters outside the rancher’s home. Among them were militia members from California, Idaho and other US states, camouflaged, with rifles and side arms.
"If we don't show up everywhere, there is no reason to show up anywhere," one of the camouflaged men said, holding an AR-15 rifle. "I'm ready to pull the trigger if fired upon," Scott said.
In an interview before the bureau's announcement, Bundy stated that he was impressed by the level of support he had received. Local cowboys even attempted to retrieve some of his cattle, after the government’s agents wrangled one-third of his cattle Monday.
"I'm excited that we are really fighting for our freedom. We've been losing it for a long time," Bundy said.
The government declared they had decided to free the cattle.
"Based on information about conditions on the ground and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public," the bureau's director, Neil Kornze, said in a statement.
The crowd and the rancher’s family met the news with applause and relief.
"This is what I prayed for," Margaret Houston, one of Bundy's sisters, told Reuters on Saturday. "We are so proud of the American people for being here with us and standing with us."
One of the rancher’s sons, Ammon Bundy, supported his aunt, saying: “We won the battle.”
The dispute between Bundy and federal authorities actually began in 1993 when he stopped paying monthly fees of about $1.35 per cow-calf pair to graze public lands. Plus, the government argues that Bundy has ignored cancelation of his grazing leases and defied federal court orders to remove his cattle.
The authorities said that Bundy still owes taxpayers more than $1 million, and that the government would work to resolve the matter administratively, through the court system.
Several US senators and the state of Nevada this week criticized what has been called the result of an “overreaching” agency acting overzealously, especially after a no-fly zone was enacted for a 3-square-mile area around Bundy's ranch.

Federal land managers abruptly ended a roundup of cattle on public land in southern Nevada from a rancher who has refused to recognize their authority, citing a "serious concern" for the safety of employees and the public.
Bureau of Land Management chief Neil Kornze made the announcement Saturday morning at the same time militia members and others gathered near the roundup site to protest the removal of hundreds of Cliven Bundy's cattle.
The showdown between rancher Bundy and U.S. land managers had brought a team of armed federal rangers to Nevada to seize his 1,000 head of cattle in an unusual roundup that has become a flashpoint for anti-government groups, right-wing politicians and gun-rights activists.
"After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans," Kunze said in a press release.
"Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public," the statement read.
Authorities have returned the last of his confiscated herd, Reuters reported.
Some 400 cows had been gathered during the roundup that began a week ago, short of the BLM's goal of 900 cows that it says were trespassing on public land.
Bundy didn't immediately respond to The Associated Press' request for comment.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, who had complained about the BLM's handling of the roundup, issued a statement praising the agency for its willingness to listen to the state's concerns.
Self-styled militia members and ultra-conservatives rallied Friday to the cause of the defiant rancher, who has been accused by the U.S. government of illegally grazing his cattle for decades on public lands in the southern Nevada desert.
Bob Diehl, head of a group calling itself the Southern Nevada Militia, based in Mesquite, Nev., estimated that as many as 1,500 supporters turned out Friday to protest the government seizure of Bundy's livestock from 600,000 acres of federal range and park lands that he has claimed as his own property.
The dispute that triggered the roundup dates to 1993, when the Interior Department's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) cited concern for the federally protected desert tortoise. The agency later revoked Bundy's grazing rights.
Bundy claims ancestral rights to graze his cattle on lands his Mormon family settled in the 19th century. He stopped paying grazing fees and disregarded several court orders to remove his animals.
Amy Lueders, head of the Nevada BLM office, said the cattle seizure was a last resort to address a rancher who "owes the American people in excess of $1 million" in back fees, penalties and other costs.
"Mr. Bundy is breaking the law and he has been breaking the law for the last 20 years," she told reporters during a telephone news conference Friday.
Local officials disagree.
"I'm seeing a lot of passionate Americans willing to stand up for important rights," said Nevada State Assemblywoman Michele Fiore.
Fiore, a Republican, said Friday she has been making the 80-mile drive from Las Vegas to a growing tent city of militia members, advocates and protesters in dusty but scenic rangeland near Bundy's ranch, just east of the Virgin River. She said she was horrified that BLM police used stun guns on one of Bundy's adult sons during a Wednesday confrontation on a state highway near the Bundy melon farm in the Gold Butte area.
Video of that explicit confrontation has spread on the Internet, along with blog commentary claiming excessive government force and calls to arms from self-described militia leaders.
Some have invoked references to deadly confrontations with federal authorities, including a siege of a ranch home in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, in 1992 and the fiery destruction of a religious compound near Waco, Texas, that killed 76 people in 1993.
Several other Republican elected officials supported Bundy's dispute with the federal government.
Ariz. Rep. Kelly Townsend told local newspaper The Las Vegas Review-Journal that the Bundy dispute is reminiscent of "Tiananmen Square."
U.S. Rep. Bob Thorpe of Flagstaff said he and state legislators weren't arguing whether Bundy broke laws or violated grazing agreements. Thorpe said the Arizona lawmakers were upset the BLM initially restricted protesters to so-called free speech zones.
U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, also a Republican, had also said he was upset with the way the BLM was conducting the roundup.
The Nevada BLM's Lueders said two protesters were detained Thursday, cited for failure to comply with officers at a barricade and then released.
That brought to three the number of arrests. Bundy's son, Dave Bundy, was arrested last Sunday on State Route 170 and released Monday with citations accusing him of refusing to disperse and resisting arrest.
Lueders said 380 cows were collected by Thursday. She declined to provide a cost estimate for the herding operation.
The roundup started last Saturday, after the BLM and National Park Service shut down an area half the size of Delaware to let cowhands using helicopters and vehicles gather about 900 cattle that officials say are trespassing.
Bundy, 67, and his large family cast their resistance to the roundup as a constitutional stand. He says he doesn't recognize federal authority over state land.

LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas/AP) – After a tense standoff with the Bureau of Land Management, the Nevada Rancher at the center of the disagreement proclaimed that “the citizens of America” got his cattle back.


Rancher Cliven Bundy reached a deal with the BLM Saturday allowing the cattle that had been removed from the BLM land to be released back onto the federal lands. But Bundy is still on the hook for the fees he owes for having the animals on the land in the first place.


“There is no deal here. The citizens of America and Clark County went and took their cattle. There was no negotiations. They took these cattle. They are in possession of these cattle and I expect them to come home soon,” Bundy told KLAS-TV.


The standoff Saturday brought hundreds of protesters who attempted to storm the BLM’s cattle gate, but weren’t successful. Some protesters were even armed with weapons.


I-15 was closed in both directions at one point because protesters were blocking the freeway. Roughly two dozen police officers and a SWAT unit were at the scene in Mesquite to help keep the peace.


“We had a lot of fears. Individuals being shot, trampled. Individuals being run over on the highway. So it took a lot of resources, a lot of resources to associate with this,” Assistant Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said to KLAS-TV.

Kornze’s announcement came after Bundy repeatedly promised to “do whatever it takes” to protect his property and after a string of raucous confrontations between his family members and supporters and federal agents during the weeklong operation.


Bundy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.


Republican Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval issued a statement praising the agency for its willingness to listen to the state’s concerns. He earlier criticized the agency for creating “an atmosphere of intimidation” and trying to confine protesters to a fenced-in “First Amendment area” well away from the sprawling roundup area.


“The safety of all individuals involved in this matter has been my highest priority,” Sandoval said. “Given the circumstances, today’s outcome is the best we could have hoped for.”


Nevada’s congressional delegation urged the protesters to be calm and to leave the area.


“The dispute is over, the BLM is leaving, but emotions and tensions are still near the boiling point, and we desperately need a peaceful conclusion to this conflict,” U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., said in a statement. “I urge all the people involved to please return to your homes and allow the BLM officers to collect their equipment and depart without interference.”

Bundy, 67, doesn’t recognize federal authority on land he insists belongs to Nevada. His Mormon family has operated a ranch since the 1870s near the small town of Bunkerville and the Utah and Arizona lines.


“Good morning America, good morning world, isn’t it a beautiful day in Bunkerville?” Bundy told a cheering crowd after his cattle were released, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.


The crowd protesting Saturday recited the pledge of allegiance, and many offered prayers. Others waved placards reading, “This land is your land,” and “We teach our children not to bully. How do we teach our government not to be big bullies?” according to the newspaper.


It’s the latest skirmish since the 1980s when the Sagebrush Rebellion challenged federal ownership of Nevada rangeland ranchers said was rightfully theirs.


A federal judge in Las Vegas first ordered Bundy to remove his trespassing cattle in 1998. The bureau was implementing two federal court orders last year to remove Bundy’s cattle after making repeated efforts to resolve the matter outside court, Kornze said, adding the rancher has not paid grazing fees in 20 years.


“This is a matter of fairness and equity, and we remain disappointed that Cliven Bundy continues to not comply with the same laws that 16,000 public-lands ranchers do every year,” Kornze said. “After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially.”

They let this guy do this for OVER 20 years.

In a court of law in EVERY STATE if a covenant isn't enforced for a "reasonable period of time" it becomes null and void.

The BLM isn't a law making organization. They have no authority to do what they did. Period.

They lost. They are the ones that need to go home.

Reid joined representatives from the Moapa Band of Paiutes, executives from First Solar, Inc. and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for the groundbreaking ceremony on March 21. “First Solar is thrilled to celebrate this important milestone with Sen. Reid and distinguished guests, and honored to work with the Moapa Band of Paiutes on this landmark project,” Jim Hughes, the CEO of First Solar, said at the time. The development of solar farms just like this one is exactly why Sen. Reid was using the BLM, whose director is Reid’s former senior advisor, to push Bundy out of the Gold Butte area his family has worked for over 140 years. As we revealed last Friday in an article that became the #1 news story in the world for 24 hours, the BLM specifically stated that it wanted Bundy and his cattle out of the area as part of the agency’s “regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone.” The BLM attempted a cover-up by deleting documents exposing the plan from its web site, but fortunately contributors at the Free Republic were able to save them for posterity. Others have attempted to whitewash the situation by suggesting that the solar farm development was only limited to the shelved 2012 deal between Sen. Reid and Chinese-owned ENN Energy Group in Laughlin, Nev., but by reading the BLM’s own documents it is quite obvious that this is not the case. “The BLM’s current action builds on the Western Solar Energy Plan, a two-year planning effort conducted on behalf of the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Energy to expand domestic energy production and spur development of solar energy on public lands in six western states,” the BLM announced in a March 14 press release. “The Western Solar Energy Plan provides a blueprint for utility-scale solar energy permitting in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah by establishing Solar Energy Zones with access to existing or planned transmission, incentives for development within those Solar Energy Zones, and a process through which to consider additional Solar Energy Zones and solar projects.” “The Regional Mitigation Strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone is the first of several pilot plans to be developed by the BLM,” the press release added. In summary, the BLM, acting under Sen. Reid’s corrupt interests, wants Cliven Bundy out of the 600,000 acre Gold Butte area so the agency can use the land for future solar projects and de facto buffer zones surrounding the solar farms. This is crony capitalism at its finest and Bundy’s supporters, who numbered in the thousands, knew it. No. It sends a 'right wing kook" message. Like it or not, the left has painted anyone who wears camo and plate carriers as dangerously insane and the media would have had a field day with it.

Cowboys in hats and jeans sends the message that these are normal working folk opposing an injustice.

The alternative lib media like DU, Huffpo etc were shouting for the feds to light 'em up.

IF the lead starts to fly then camo will be the gear of the patriot and the black ninja suits of the feds will mean traitor.

You do make a valid point with this but I guess I'm just at the point I don't give a fuck what anyone says, especially the left. Mainly because I think we've past the point of image making a difference. How we look isn't going to change the minds of the general public when you have Uncle Sugar filling the pockets of the ever increasing numbers of FSA with the producers' money.

If the patriots show up my way, yeah, they'll be right-wing militia kooks. If they show up your way they'll just get painted as dumb, backwards, gun-toting, rednecks. I don't think we win either way.

The only difference I see is that if they show up my way they'll have a fighting chance when the lead starts to fly. Plus you'll have the added advantage of showing clear strength. Your way you end with more dead than is needed (no offense) and take the risk of allowing perceived weakness.

I would also suggest that geared up folks aren't necessarily as out of the norm as they may have been in earlier times...

1) You have a lot of military vets that have gear they brought home or, when they got home purchased what was similar to what they were using. We've been at war for over a decade and there are a lot of vets. Granted not all of them are door-kickers but they trained with certain gear and have a mindset that they'd like to have it, "just in case". I know many that have come home and built rifles nearly identical to what they served with.
2) Gear like plate carriers, armor, helmets, and night vision are the cheapest and most accessible it's ever been. Vets are coming back and selling off surplus gear to make ends meet because of the shitty economy. Companies that were used to supplying gear to the military are seeing war winding down and realizing that government coin is drying up so, they are marketing more and more to civies to keep money flowing in.
3) The up and coming generation of Millenials (for all their other faults) have grown up in a state of war and around hugely popular video games like CoD and Battlefield. They play airsoft and paintball and, really love their Gucci gear. Many of them are familiar with the real deal gear and spend significant money to get it (ever seen any eBay auctions for Navy SEAL AOR camo pattern stuff? Good lord!). They want to be kitted up just like their favorite video game characters. They don't necessarily think the "geared up" look is all that abnormal as opposed to Gladys Kravitz down the street who's probably voting Dem anyway because of her guilt over her "white privilege".
4) EBRs are the biggest selling firearm out there right now. With companies like Palmetto State Armory putting out sub-$500 quality ARs, nearly everyone and their cousin has one. An AR in the hands of Joe Sixpack isn't the head turner it once was.

I guess in the end, I don't think your way or my way is right or wrong because the media will paint us in a poor light regardless. I just prefer peace through superior firepower.

EXCLUSIVE: New Images of BLM War Zone Exposes Fed’s Military Fiasco at Bundy Ranch

New images of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy’s tense standoff with the Federal Bureau of Land Mangement (BLM) on Saturday afternoon reveal how the armed agency’s military operation configured to forcefully engage Bundy cowboys and their supporters who sought to liberate federally confiscated cattle over the weekend.

These exclusive images were taken by a GMN photographer positioned right above the action on the Southbound side of Interstate 15 near Bunkerville, Nevada.
Despite the BLM being instructed to leave the Bundy Ranch and Gold Butte area earlier that morning, the agency still insisted had a legal right to be there and that it would not let go of hundreds of cows it had already taken away from the Bundy Family. Critics are asking if that ‘legal right’ also includes stationing a federal military force in Bunkerville.

Prior to this standoff, the special agent in charge of BLM’s ground operations, Daniel P. Love, had issued a warning that any one who crosses the federal line in order to free the seized cattle – will be arrested. Love went on boasting his agency’s advantage over Bundy supporters when saying, “I’ve seen your numbers right now, you’d better hope that 10,000 show up.”

It turns out that protesters needed far less numbers to overcome Love’s federal army. In the end, a Bundy’s contingent of 150 cowboys on horseback and a few hundred of peaceful supporters – backed by a well-organised volunteer militia, all together, proceed to march past the BLM’s line of demarcation to the entrance of cattle holding area, prompting the platoon of armed federal tactical teams to stand down and fall back.

This is the first collection in a three part series, showing the federal government’s military build-up to Saturday’s climax under US Interstate 15…

Exclusive: Sources Inside The BLM and Las Vegas Metro Say Feds Are Planning A Raid On Bundy Home

Bunkerville, NEVADA, April 14, 2014– As reported yesterday, hundreds of federal agents are still at the Bundy Ranch and the area continues its status as a no-fly zone. Despite major media reports that the Nevada Bureau of Land Management is retreating, the remaining activity that still surrounds the ranch illustrates a different scenario.

Not only is the BLM not actually backing off of Cliven Bundy, Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association has revealed stunning information: on Ben Swann’s radio program, Mack said that he has received intelligence from multiple, credible sources inside the BLM and the Las Vegas Metro that there is “no question” that the federal government is planning a raid on the Bundy home and the homes of their children who live on the property.

According to Mack, the so-called retreat was nothing more than theatrics. “It was a ploy to get people to back off, to get people out of the way. They weren’t expecting us to get this amount of people here. They were surprised by the numbers and so they wanted a way to get us out of here. This was a ploy to get us out of here and then they’re going after the Bundys.” Mack said that when he was at the Bundy ranch on Saturday there were an estimated 600 to 800 protesters present when federal agents were releasing the cattle.

“If they do that kind of raid, I don’t believe there’s any way that could happen without bloodshed,” Mack told Swann.

Mack spoke about the tactic that protesters could use by putting women at the front of the line facing the federal agents to make them think carefully before opening fire.

“I would’ve gone next. I would’ve been the next one to be killed. I’m not afraid to die here. I’m willing to die here,” said Mack.

Mack said that he had been told by Bundy that the federal government is actively shutting down the ranching industry, specifically in Clark County. He also revealed that there used to be 53 ranches in Clark County. All of those ranchers have been put out of business, except for Bundy who is still trying to hold on. “Every American should be outraged by it,” said Mack. The ranch has been in Bundy’s family since 1877.

Mack decried Nevada governor Brian Sandoval for declaring this situation unconstutional while doing nothing to stop it. “He could have called in the state’s national guard, could have called in the sheriff’s office, could have called in highway patrol, and he’s done nothing except assail what’s going on. That’s easy, that’s cowardly.”

Sheriff Mack also called out media including radio host Glenn Beck who he says is siding with the BLM on this issue.

“I can’t believe that there are some Americans, and some media like Glenn Beck, that are supporting the BLM in this and it’s absolutely disgraceful.”

I'd noticed it in other pictures as well as those above...

Anyone know what the window chalk markings on the Federal vehicles above mean? The markings like C4K, C6, ME4, D3. It's clearly some form of ID.


Some other observations...

I'm sure I'm not the only one taking note of all the soft-skin, wheeled vehicles being used. I'd imagine fire and flat tires could be very bad for those. I'm also noting how they like to bunch up their vehicles and groups of personnel. That doesn't seem too sound tactically.

Weapon-wise I don't see anything I'm particularly scared of. Some carbines, rifles, and pistols. Most all of which seem run of the mill with mostly EOTechs, a couple Aimpoints, some MOE handguards and MOE stubby foregrips, a few white lights, some PMAGs. Color me unimpressed. Looks like a couple "less lethal" options like pepper ball guns and some grenade launchers (can't tell if they're 37mm or 40mm I'm not too well versed on them) which I'm sure are loaded with CS.

I'd also mention that I think I can count on one hand the number of guys with provisions for using helmet mounted NV gear. None of which even appear to have any carried on them (maybe because of time of day and planned duration of ops?). Notably the one's that do have NV mounting provisions don't appear to have any IR laser sighting equipment on their rifles. So, even if they did have NV gear I question how useful it would be to them. Certainly no thermal equipment.

Most all of the helmets appear to be ACH which are supposed to be Level 3 rifle resistant, either standard cut or high cut. One guy looked to just have a regular, non-ballistic bump helmet with an NV mount. I suspect their plate carriers have Level 3 and possibly Level 4 plates. Take note, I could be wrong, but I don't see any wearing side plates.

I'm going to say this in public... But I feel fairly confident in saying I'm better equipped than they are. I know there are also many, many others equipped as well and in a lot of cases better, than I am. I'll mention I can also outfit several people to at least their level and others a little bit below.

As an aside, the police helo pictured above is an MD369FF owned by the LVMPD. I'm guessing that is some sort of FLIR/optics pod underneath.

Every one of those federales needs to be identified and outed. If you're on the opposite side of a two way range with American Civilians, your friends, neighbors and the public should know the level of your treasonous behavior.

You can bet that the feds have done exactly the same. They have identified probably 90-99% of every American standing there and have various plans of intimidation, threat, arrest and incarceration lined up already.
