    Default vacum tubes

I am looking for an inexpensive place to purchase vacum tubes. E-Bay and Craigslist seem to be the cheapest so far. In particular I am wanting to replace the tubes in my old Sears Silvertone 1484 2-12 amplifer. Oddly enough it seems there doesn't seem to be many places manufactoring tubes for 40 year old electronics.

I've heard eBay is the place to go for tubes. Did a cursory search one time to see since I am planning on picking up a tube powered ham radio someday. Looked like a pretty extensive collection to me!

I'll bet Rick knows of a couple sources.

Amateur Radio swap meets usually have someone with a huge stack of tubes. Once, many years ago, I have about 2-3 thousand tubes. Sold it all when I joined the military so that was in 1976.

I got 3000 dollars for my tube collection, Sams Fotofacts and some test equipment, most of which I gathered for free over the years from 16-18 while I was doing TV repair on my own.

I don't know any efficient sources for tubes these days.

Thanks friends, it looks like good ole E-Bay is going to be my best choice. Rick, I would suggest a higher number on the sunscreen, maybe 666 SF?
