Well, perhaps not precisely.... so, let's just say that people shouldn't allow tracking of themselves or loved ones in this manner. Too easy to be abused.

The Libertarian Party in Missouri is strongly opposed to RFID chips in pets. We have chips in the dogs, but I would draw the line on humans. Some claim them to be the "mark of the beast".

Very specifically it comes down to this.

Right to Privacy. I have the RIGHT to privacy. No one has the right to film me everywhere I go, follow me, know what I am doing, when I go to the grocery store, go sailing, to the bank or go to the bathroom.

Children receiving chips now will not lose them when they are adults. Many years from now the slippery slope has been slid down and all those, NOW ADULT children who had RFID tags put on them can and WILL be tracked by the US Government... or any other government that wants to ABUSE the system.

I don't want something in my body like that.

I don't my kids to have it, and I won't have my animals even have one.

It's a bullshit way for the government to get around our rights and to slow, surely remove those rights from us.

Peterle, I see after reading this thread a few times that I upset you - and it wasn't intentional. Let me try to explain all of what I was saying, it was partially tongue-in-cheek, and partially a kind of sarcastic response to the invasion of privacy this sort of thing brings to mind.

You grew up in Europe. Italy. While Italy is one of the seats of civilization, it is currently more "socialist" than America is. And people have come to accept cameras on the street corners (like England, my GOD they have cameras everywhere!)

They also, generally have been indoctrinated that you only are ALLOWED to do certain things. You must get permission to do some things.

In America, we don't ask permission to do things. But they are trying to force this on us.

This is 'sarcasm'. The government is calling people like me "dangerous" now. I own guns, I am AGAINST big government. I don't mind paying taxes, but I am SICK of exorbitant taxes - it's down right extortion now.

People who "know things" like you, or me... are dangerous. Why? I have information and access to things normal people don't. So do you. NORMAL people don't know how the electrical systems work. You do, you COULD very well be a dangerous man if you chose to be

Students Tagged with RFID Chips in "Smart Badge Program"

High school and Junior High students in Santa Fe are being forced to be tracked like prisoners with RFID badges and have their every movement monitored by the all seeing eye of the state. It's all in the name of 'safety,' says the mentally deficient school's administrator, but students are saying they feel like prisoners.

KHOU 11 News Reports:

SANTA FE— Students in Santa Fe have to wear ID badges to class, complete with a built-in tracking device.

The Smart Badge program started this school year, and is getting mixed reviews from parents and students.

Patrick Mann is a senior and said he feels like he’s in prison.

“Normally, the one people you would track are say prisoners or somebody that’s done something very wrong,” Mann said.

Not only are the students being tracked while they're in the state run jails schools, they're even being tracked while they're out of school as well.

The sensors are in the ceiling on campus, but Mann said they keep tabs of you off campus too.

“At that Shell Station, they can see exactly where I am,” Mann said. “I know that because the school cops came up there and said, ‘Hey, you need to get back to school. We tracked you over here.’”

Of course, in reality, this is to teach the children how to live as wards of the state, that's the real purpose of government-run schools and always has been.

It's an old truism that the "safest" place on earth is in a jail cell, gladly our government-run schools are doing their part to make that a truism a reality.
