Message Board Privacy Setting Change

Overnight tonight I will be adjusting the board settings to make it so that the message board will be visible to registered board members only. This is being done to enhance the privacy of members here and their posted content.

If you are a registered member and log in with your screen name, you will not notice any changes. If, however, you are a member that is registered but have a tendency to browse not logged in, you will get an error message asking you to log in to view the board. Lurkers will have to register if they wish to continue viewing the board.

I concur with Backstop and appreciate the privacy aspect.

Loose lips and opiates sink ships. Perhaps it would be better to make more of an effort to tolerate chronic pain. Good to be among electronic friends.

Peterle's post brought up a thought. I'm assuming that this block will also block the search engine spiders. Will this adversly affect people trying to find a board such as this one?

Or are the spiders exempted by the board software?

I don't believe the search spiders are exempted so it will reduce our overall search visibility unfortunately. That is a downside to this change.
