Not a news link thread, but an opinions thread.
What do you think of the North Korean Military?
Personally, I think if push comes to shove and war opens back up, we're going to find we've been facing a strawman. They will strike first and get in a pretty brutal first punch just because the have a good 20,000 artillery pieces on the DMZ. But an under fed, under supplied rank and file will not be able to stand up to the stresses of prolonged combat once the counter attacks and surgical strikes begin.
North Korea won't last 2-3 weeks. UNLESS... China makes the very bold and decisive move of declairing war on the US and providing military support. (bye-bye Wal-Mart) I don't see that happening. Or at least over just North Korea. China is heavily invested in trade and commerce with the US and the West. War with their largest trading block would be economically devistating. To lose that over N. Korea? Not worth it. I'm thinking we'll get a lot of sound and fury out of China, but they won't militarily insert themselves.
