Sometimes a dastardly conspiracy is just a dastardly conspiracy. Indeed the Benghazi episode, at least the response to the attack, is beginning to look more and more like the work of a partisan cabal afraid of upsetting the president’s reelection prospects, exactly as conservative critics have been saying for two months.

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) is providing a glimpse of what occurred in hearings today in which former CIA director David Petraeus testified: Fox News reports:
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who spoke to reporters after Petraeus testified before the House Intelligence Committee, indicated he and other lawmakers still have plenty of questions about the aftermath of the attack.
“No one knows yet exactly who came up with the final version of the talking points,” he said.
Petraeus was heading next to the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify. At the same time, lawmakers unexpectedly convened a briefing with top members of various committees to examine a Sept. 25 letter to President Obama that asked a series of classified questions on Benghazi.
Petraeus’ testimony both challenges the Obama administration’s repeated claims that the attack was a “spontaneous” protest over an anti-Islam video, and according to King conflicts with his own briefing to lawmakers on Sept. 14. Sources have said Petraeus, in that briefing, also described the attack as a protest that spun out of control.
“His testimony today was that from the start, he had told us that this was a terrorist attack,” King said, adding that he told Petraeus he had a “different recollection.”
Still, the claim that the CIA’s original talking points were changed is sure to stoke controversy on the Hill.
“The original talking points were much more specific about Al Qaeda involvement. And yet the final ones just said indications of extremists,” King said, adding that the final version was the product of a vague “inter-agency process.”
Further, King said a CIA analyst specifically told lawmakers that the Al Qaeda affiliates line “was taken out.”
Watergate had the tape with the 18 1/2-minute gap, and now we have the mystery of the talking points. This raises a slew of questions including these:

    * If they were changed, who changed them?
    * Why were they changed?

    * Did the president know or approve of the changes?

    * If Petraeus saw that they were changed, why did he not come forward sooner?
    * If other senior officials were aware of the change in story, why didn’t they alert others, Congress or the American people?
    * What was national security adviser Thomas Donilon’s role in this?
    * Did U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice have access to the original talking points and/or was she aware they had been changed?
    * If she didn’t know anything other than the talking points and had no operational responsibility for Benghazi, what was she doing on the talk-show circuit on Sept. 16?
    * What information did the secretary of state have and when did she have it. If she, like Petraeus, knew what the real origin of the attack was, why weren’t she and her press staff being more forthright with the public?
    * Fox reports that Petraeus’s agency “determined immediately that ‘Al Qaeda involvement’ was suspected.” If the CIA knew immediately that it was a terrorist attack, why did the White House press secretary insist on Sept. 14 it was all about the anti-Muslim video? Why did the president take the same approach in interviews with Univision and “60 Minutes”?

Keep in mind the aftermath of Benghazi is only one aspect of the Benghazi debacle. Other important areas to explore are why the White House was seemingly unaware of the deteriorating security situation in Libya and whether our “delay and then lead-from-behind” strategy left us without accurate intelligence and allowed jihadists a running start in Libya (not to mention Syria, Mali, Yemen and elsewhere).

Frankly until Congress gets to the bottom of this, no one in the administration should be slotted into any new senior national security office. Maybe Rice was an innocent dupe, but we dare not reward her for insufficient curiosity or elevate any other officials if they were involved in misdeeds or demonstrated gross incompetence. And if White House officials are implicated in intentional dishonesty (or just plain cluelessness), they should step down as well.

The good news for the president is that all the current national security slots are filled (albeit the CIA’s by an acting chief). Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has generously agreed to stay on, which she should, until a replacement can be found. In this case, that should follow a full accounting of the Benghazi fiasco.

Default Re: General David Petraeus tipped to take over CIA

At the risk of sounding like I'm beating a dead horse on this... who the HELL is this Kelley woman... and why is she involved, how did this happen? This article sheds even MORE light on something... I'll highlight it.

News Column Who Is the Real Jill Kelley?

    November 16, 2012
    GUY ADAMS

She first hit the news as the apparently innocent victim of abusive emails from the lover of David Petraeus. But the more we've found out about the other, other woman, the greater the mystery.

On day one, she wore a bright yellow dress with diamond earrings and a stratospherically expensive handbag. On day two, a pink designer outfit complete with killer heels. All week long, her hair, nails and make-up have been so consistently immaculate, and her catwalk strut so polished, that grizzled paparazzi at the bottom of her driveway are calling her the "Tampa Kardashian".

Pretty much every loose end to the freewheeling scandal that has rocked the White House, claimed the career of CIA director David Petraeus, and may yet take down General John Allen, the US Commander in Afghanistan, now leads to the vast red brick mansion, a short drive from Florida's MacDill Air Force Base, that the 37-year-old Jill Kelley calls home.

The expansive lawn is where Mr Petraeus and his wife, Holly, draped "party beads" around their necks before posing for a now- notorious photograph with Ms Kelley and her husband, Scott. The office is where Ms Kelley read emails that spawned the FBI investigation which exposed Petraeus's extra-marital fling. The living room, below a vast oil painting of herself, is where Ms Kelley stood to dial 911 when reporters began knocking on her door on Sunday. "I'm an honorary consul general, so I have inviolability, so they should not be able to cross my property," she told the operator.

Since that bizarre phone call, Ms Kelley has become the key player in a saga which is sending ripples through the military establishment. Her social relationship with several senior army and intelligence figures is now under the spotlight. And what we learn about her public and private lives may have far-reaching implications for America's national security.

To all outward appearances, Ms Kelley is the wife of a successful Tampa surgeon. She moved to the city roughly a decade ago and has since become one of its most energetic socialites. A fixture on the local party scene, and occasional reality TV star, she became an unofficial "social liaison" for top brass at MacDill, where the military oversees its operations in Afghanistan.

When she isn't bringing up her three children, Ms Kelley, the daughter of Lebanese immigrants, devotes her life to raising money for charity and brightening up the cocktail circuit. She is also South Korea's "honorary consul" to Tampa, a ceremonial role which, contrary to the claim she made to the emergency services, does not give her any diplomatic status.

The editor of society magazine Tampa Bay says that lavish parties thrown at Ms Kelley's home, on Bayshore Boulevard, the city's smartest street, has made her a fixture in his pages. One army officer told the Washington Post that she was famed locally as a "rich socialite who likes to hang around with four-star generals".

Yet despite the outward appearance of wealth, Ms Kelley and her husband appear to be millions of dollars in debt. Moreover, her relationship with several senior men in uniform is now at the centre of an FBI investigation.

Trouble began in May when Ms Kelley and several of her contacts began receiving emails from someone writing under the pseudonym "Kelleypatrol". One sent to John Allen warned that she was "trouble". The messages sent to her were more threatening, and reportedly contained such phrases as: "I know what you did" and "Keep off my man!"

Ms Kelley flagged them with Frederick Humphries, an FBI agent she had met in 2011. He passed them on to the Bureau's cybercrime unit. Concerned that someone had inside information about the movements of both Mr Petraeus and General Allen, they launched a full investigation.

It was this inquiry which uncovered the fact that the threatening emails came from Paula Broadwell, the biographer of Mr Petraeus, and then revealed that she was his lover. It also turned up some 20- 30,000 pages of what the FBI called "potentially inappropriate" email messages that Ms Kelley had exchanged with General Allen.

Some sources have called those messages "simply flirtatious". Others believe they are more serious. Fox News cited an unnamed official alleging some of General Allen's emails to Ms Kelley were comparable to "phone sex". Elsewhere on her hard drive was a shirtless photograph of Mr Humphries, the FBI agent.

Reporters have also begun digging into Ms Kelley's chaotic finances. She and her husband appear to be struggling to pay the mortgage on their house, bought for $1.5m in 2004 when they moved to Tampa from Pennsylvania. The lavish parties they threw seem to have been financed by credit.

The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that the couple have been sued for failing to make payments on a $250,000 bank loan, and defaulting on credit card bills of $75,000. Chase Bank has gone after them for $25,000. A property company they established to purchase a $2.1m office building went bankrupt. A medical charity they founded collapsed, after spending more than $70,000 on entertaining and travel.

Meanwhile Ms Kelley's twin sister, Natalie, who lives with the couple - and is an ex-girlfriend of former Florida Governor Charlie Crist - has millions of dollars of her own debts. She is at the centre of a messy divorce that, according to recent court papers, forced her to sell her $15,000 fur coat and $25,000 Rolex watch to live.

Yet Ms Kelley appears to be relishing the spotlight. Dressed to the nines, she has kept the curtains of her home open, allowing assembled snappers to steal almost daily photographs and enjoyed several outings in her Mercedes, with its personalised number plate reading "honorary consul".

She has also announced the appointment of a Washington lawyer, Abbe Lowell, and a "crisis management" PR person, Judy Smith. Mr Lowell previously represented disgraced Presidential candidate John Edwards and jailed lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Ms Smith's most famous former client is Monica Lewinsky. Given the questions that continue to be asked about the mysterious Ms Kelley, they seem likely to have their work cut out.

For the record, Charlie Crist was once a Republican. He turned "Independent" and has been hit up recently to "run as Democrat" in the near future to unseat the current Republican Governor there... and he has NOT SAID NO... in fact he said, "Anything could happen".

Ms. Kelley's Sister apparently dated him... and Crist is DENYING this suddenly.

All of the "Kelley's" are apparently DEEP IN DEBT!

Folks in debt using credit to make themselves look bigger, better, richer and more "connected" are almost ALWAYS Conartists. Always.

Quotes below are from several different articles, I don't have the time to lay it all out like a map right now.

Jill Kelley's twin sister has had her mental health called into question in light of a recent child custody battle. The Daily Mail reported that the judge who denied Natalie Khawam custody of her children said " ... he had serious concerns and reservations over her mental stability and her grasp on reality" in a judgement approximately one year ago. She is in the process of trying to have that ruling overturned.
Jill Kelley's bogus charity and her demands for diplomatic protection are two of the latest developments in the Petraeus scandal. The socialite ran a charity called the Doctor Kelley Cancer Foundation. Its purpose, according to tax forms, was to " ... be operated exclusively to conduct cancer research and to grant wishes to terminally ill adult cancer patients," according to The Huffington Post. The charity was named for her husband Scott Kelley, a surgeon.
However, instead of spending funds on research and fulfilling dying wishes, it seems that Jill Kelley's bogus charity was using money to throw lavish parties, provide entertainment and fund travel in addition to paying legal fees. The charity both began and ended in 2007. Started with $157,284 in seed money from undisclosed sources, it ended later the same year with precisely $157,284 in expenses. The charity went bankrupt within a year.
    (Sign of a conartist)

Finally, I provide this found in the Tampa Bay Times... this woman is a manipulator, a cheat, a con artist, liar and probably a thief as well and I would NOT put it past her to be a Democratic operator being used to screw people, literally as well as figuratively....

Jill and Scott Kelley cultivated politicians as well as generals

TAMPA — The emails were anguished, pleading and sent straight to the mayor.
"Bob, hope all is well," Jill Kelley wrote at 5:57 a.m. Tuesday to Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, whom she knows socially.
What came next offers a glimpse into Kelley's state of mind as a national scandal blew up in her front yard.
"My kids are scared, and need their 'home' back," she wrote, asking for help with "paparazzi" at her Bayshore Boulevard mansion.
At 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, she emailed again.
"Dear Mayor Bob," she wrote, saying that her name, along with those of former CIA director David Petraeus and Gen. John R. Allen, "have been exploited by the media."
"I wouldn't care — if they got the facts right and the focus was on the criminal that stalked all of us," she added in an apparent reference to Petraeus biographer and mistress Paula Broadwell. "But the truth will one day prevail."
Then she complained, "to put insult to injury, your police dept gave the local 911 tapes to the press!"
The police dispatch recordings included her cell phone number, she said, so now "I have been receiving threats all night."
Kelley said she was not sending her daughters to school and her husband, Dr. Scott Kelley, was sleeping at the hospital, "because it's just gotten too difficult to even pull out of our own driveway."
"I'm scared and cannot believe what my city — in which I have contributed so much of my love, time, money and leadership, has now done to me and my innocent family," Kelley wrote.
Asked Thursday if he did anything in response to Kelley's complaint, Buckhorn said no. "Public record," he said of the police calls.
But the emails reveal a facet of the Kelleys' life in Tampa that has until now received little notice.
The couple not only lavished attention on top officers from MacDill Air Force Base, but cultivated friendships with Florida politicians — even if it meant being pushy.
Thursday, a photo of then-U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio, with Jill Kelley and her twin sister, Natalie Khawam, on each arm, made the rounds on Twitter.
Republican Angelette Aviles tweeted the photo. She said it was taken at a March 2010 fundraiser for Rubio at an office in Tampa. The cost was $1,000 a plate.
But the twins didn't pay anything, said Aviles.
"They weren't on the guest list," she said. "They came in, took a photo with him, and left. . . . I had no idea who they were" — until she saw the women's faces in the news this week.
Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said the senator met the twins during his 2010 campaign.
"Mrs. Kelley has sent his Senate office invitations to social events, but he hasn't attended any," Conant said.
Kelley did not contribute to Rubio's campaign. Jill Kelley did give $500 to the Florida Republican Party in 2010, and Scott Kelley and Natalie Khawam each gave $250 in 2009 to Todd Marks, a Republican who ran unsuccessfully for the state House.
Also this week, the Daily Telegraph of London, citing an unnamed Republican source, said Khawam once dated former Gov. Charlie Crist.
Reached by phone, Crist said: "Consider the source."
"Didn't happen," he said. "I may have met her."
Crist said he met the Kelleys, along with Petreaus and wife, Holly, for a dinner at Bern's Steak House in Tampa. Jill Kelley — "a delightful person," Crist said — arranged the dinner.
The Kelleys didn't support Buckhorn during his race for mayor, and he said he had never met them. But they reached out to him soon after he was elected in March 2011.
Three weeks after Buckhorn was sworn in, the couple hosted a cocktail reception for him on the front yard of their home.
Since then, Jill Kelley has kept in touch with the mayor, often extending social invitations, according to emails released by the city late Thursday.
Less than a month after the reception in the mayor's honor, Kelley emailed Buckhorn that she hoped to see him and his wife, Dr. Cathy Lynch Buckhorn, at a dinner party that evening for the King of Jordan.
"The King and his sister (the Princess) are awesome people!" she wrote a few days later. "Actually your name was brought up by the Generals when they were showing off the party I hosted you! (everyone loved that party)"
"Especially me," responded Buckhorn, who said he counts Kelley as an acquaintance.
He said he has not been able to accept any of Kelley's invitations since the reception in his honor, but he — along with his wife and police driver — did give her a ride home after a MacDill function when her husband was working late and was unable to meet her.
"Gen Mattis" — an apparent reference to Marine Gen. James Mattis, who succeeded Petraeus as commander of CentCom — "was so kind to offer, but I realized you two were passing my way," Jill Kelley wrote to Buckhorn the next day.
Kelley also messaged the mayor early this year after reports that American personnel in Afghanistan had burned Korans, enraging Muslims.
Soon after, Tampa Bay shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem said "we are going to deep fat fry" the Koran, according to a news report from WMNF-88.5 FM radio.
In response, top officers at MacDill reached out to the mayor to try to talk the DJ out of a publicity stunt that could have endangered troops.
Buckhorn also heard from Kelley, who said she had just gotten off a phone call with Gen. Allen and Vice Adm. Robert Harward, the deputy commander of CentCom, and needed the mayor's help "with the potential crises we'll be dealing with."
"If it involves the radio station, we are working on it," Buckhorn replied.
"They asked me to get involved, like I did when it happened with the Pastor last year," she emailed back.
"This Bubba the Love Sponge is a complete moron," Buckhorn told her in response.
    The Koran-burning never took place.
One thing that comes through in many of Kelley's emails is how chummy she is with top generals.
A month after the threatened Koran burning, she invited Buckhorn to a noontime reception, hosted by Harward, being held in her honor at MacDill.
And in October 2011 she invited Buckhorn and his family to her daughter's sixth birthday party.
Buckhorn begged off, saying his daughters had swim meets that day, though he added: "would definitely rather be lounging on Bayshore with an adult beverage."
"I agree!" Kelley said, and then added a note referring to Petraeus. "I'll be sure to send the Director your regards — should be another fabulous weekend in DC."
Times researcher Caryn Baird and staff writers Alex Leary and Ben Montgomery contributed to this report.

    Nov. 15, 2012

A New York businessman who discussed a multi-billion-dollar Korean business deal with Jill Kelley said the Tampa woman at the center of the Petraeus scandal told him Gen. Petraeus had arranged for her to become an honorary consul for South Korea and promote free trade, and then asked him for $80 million to complete the deal.
"Ms. Kelley made it clear to me that General Petraeus put her in this position, and that's why she was able to have access to such senior levels [of the Korean government]," said Adam Victor, president and CEO of TransGas Development Systems, "that they were essentially doing a favor for General Petraeus, and that she had access solely because of her relationship with General Petraeus."
Victor, who met Kelley at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August, said he was disappointed in Gen. Petraeus for helping Kelley become an honorary consul. "Frankly, I blame Gen. Petraeus for this as a lapse of judgment," he said. "The general should have known better."
Gen. Petraeus resigned as CIA director last Friday after an FBI investigation turned up evidence of an affair between Petraeus and Paula Broadwell, co-author of the Petraeus biography "All In." The investigation began when Kelley, a Tampa socialite, told an FBI agent she knew about "harassing" emails that turned out to originate from Broadwell.

According to Victor, he went to Tampa to promote coal gasification and met a friend of Kelley's who suggested that they meet to discuss a possible international deal. "The person who introduced me to her said that she was well known to be a very close friend of Gen. Petraeus," said Victor.
Victor said that he and Kelley met in "the VIP section" at the convention, where Kelly said that "she was a very good friend of Gen. Petraeus," and that "he arranged for her to get this position of honorary consul for South Korea" to promote free trade. She also allegedly said she had access to senior government officials in Korea.
Victor said he thought it made sense that Petraeus would want to put a trusted aide in charge of promoting free trade. When Kelley named her fee for brokering the deal, however, Victor balked. The coal gasification plants under discussion were worth $4 billion, said Victor -- and Kelley wanted a two percent cut. "That's an $80 million fee," he said. "And I mean that is problematic . . . No broker gets $80 million. I mean that's two whole orders of magnitude higher than what they would get."
Victor said he "terminated the relationship" after Kelley asked for $80 million. He decided that while she was not making an inappropriate request on purpose, it showed she was inexperienced and unqualified for the job. He also began to wonder about Petraeus's judgment.
"It became clear that it did not smell right," he said. "Gen. Petraeus should not have put an inexperienced person in charge of the Free Trade Agreement with such an important ally as South Korea."
"It's a sad day for the country," concluded Victor. "Gen. Petraeus has served this country well."
A spokesperson for Jill Kelley did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Retired Army Col. Steve Boylan, a friend and former spokesperson for ex-CIA Director Petraeus, said it was "nonsense" that Petraeus had any part in Kelley's alleged Korean deal. "He knows nothing about it," insisted Boylan. "What other people do he can't control." Another source told ABC News that Petraeus had asked Kelley to stop throwing his name around.

Tampa, Florida - This photo is the latest Jill Kelley picture making the rounds on Twitter. It's posted by a user named Angelette Aviles (@angelette) who writes, "JKelley @ our private office Rubio fundraiser. Dress 2 revealing? We never invited her, didn't contribute or greet us!"
Rubio's office told the Tampa Bay Times, "Sen. Rubio met Mrs. Kelley on the campaign trail in 2010, and that may have been where that picture was taken. Mrs. Kelley has sent his Senate office invitations to social events, but he hasn't attended any."
10 News Investigative Reporter Noah Pransky took a look at the campaign contributions made by the Kelleys and tells us, "Jill gave $500 to the Republican Part of Florida in August 2010. Scott Kelley and Natalie Khawam - both listing the 1005 Bayshore address - gave $250 each to Republican Todd Marks in 2009, and Scott also gave $500 to Paula Dockery in 2004."

Korean Official Laughs at Jill Kelley’s Diplomatic Prowess

Email 4 Smaller Font Text Larger Text | Print

A South Korean official laughed today when asked about the international influence of Jill Kelley, the woman named honorary consul general to the Asian nation just months before an FBI investigation she sparked led to a national scandal and the resignation of CIA head Gen. David Petraeus.

Kelley, a high-profile Florida socialite, had apparently parlayed her popularity among American military and government officials into the honorary appointment in August and quickly began taking her title seriously.

Though Kelley had no official connection to the State Department, one U.S. official told ABC News she would often drop the “honorary” part of her title in conversation. In a 911 tape from over the weekend, Kelley complained about trespassers on her property and said that since she was an honorary consul, she was subject to “inviolability.”

A New York businessman told The Associated Press Wednesday that after he met Kelley at the Republican National Convention in August, she told him she would be in a position to help broker a billion-dollar deal directly with the president of South Korea and wanted a two-percent commission in return – a multi-million-dollar payday.

But T.J. Kim, a spokesperson for the South Korean Embassy in Washington, laughed today when he learned of Kelley’s alleged claim of access.

“She only assumed this honorary position in August, and in three months we saw no activity from her or for the Korean government or the Korean community in Florida,” he told ABC News.

The New York business man concluded after a subsequent meeting with Kelley that she “had little to offer in the way of deal-making expertise or connections with Korean leaders,” as the AP put it.

Kelley was thrust into the international spotlight earlier this week when it was revealed an FBI investigation that uncovered an affair between Petraeus and his biographer, Paula Broadwell, all started with Kelley. Kelley had alerted an FBI friend about “harassing” emails she was receiving from an anonymous sender. The FBI tracked the emails to Broadwell and then stumbled on the affair, U.S. officials said.

Petraeus, a married man, admitted the affair and stepped down from arguably the world’s most powerful spy agency Saturday.

Kelley has declined to speak to the media in recent days except for a statement, released Sunday, in which she said her family has “been friends with Gen. Petraeus and his family for over five years.”

“We respect his and his family’s privacy and want the same for us and our three children,” the statement said.

Jill Kelley's sister $3 million in debt, has habit of 'dishonesty,' judge says

Natalie Khawam “appears to lack any appreciation or respect for the importance of honesty and integrity," a judge wrote.

    Amy Scherzer/Tampa Bay Times

(From L to R) Natalie Khawam, Gen. David Petraeus, Dr. Scott Kelley, his wife Jill Kelley and Holly Petraeus, the wife of Gen. David Petraeus, on the Kelleys front lawn on Jan. 30. 2010, in Tampa, Fla. Kelley and her sister Khawam are deeply in debt, records show.

Jill Kelley isn’t the only member of her family with money problems and a propensity to embellish her credentials, according to published reports and court records.

Kelley’s twin sister Natalie Khawam “appears to lack any appreciation or respect for the importance of honesty and integrity in her interactions with her family, employers, and others with whom she comes in contact,” a judge in Washington D.C. wrote last year.

The harsh words came as Khawam fought to regain custody of her 4-year-old child after a messy divorce, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Khawam even enlisted former CIA Director David Petraeus and Marine Gen. John Allen to write letters to the court in September testifying to her solid character and ability to parent.

But after a “litany of hearings and psychological evaluations” Associate Judge Neal E. Kravitz ruled Khawam “has extreme personal deficits in the areas of honesty and integrity.”

She also displayed a “willingness to say anything, even under oath, to advance her own personal interests at the expense of others.”

Like her sister, Jill Kelley, Khawam was deeply in debt – to the tune of $3 million.

    KELLEY CALLS COPS ON MEDIA

She had four jobs in five years and sued a former employer for sexual harassment, the Times reported. That employer, prominent Tampa lawyer Barry Cohen, fought back calling her complaints “lie after unabashed lie.”

Khawam did not issue a comment to the newspaper.

Her personal life has also been marked by three failed engagements. After her recent divorce, she moved in with Kelley in Tampa where she began “hobnobbing” with military elite, the Times reported.

Khawam is being sued by her former lawyers in Montgomery County Circuit Court for about $100,000 in unpaid legal fees, Capital News Service reported.

How is it that an Arab broad is allowed to throw parties for anyone? I mean...how does this process start? It's not like a bunch of generals cruised a neighborhood looking for a kegger. Someone introduced someone to someone else and got this started.

Also, these broads are kinda thick and with their Lebanese or whatever background, I expect they'd rival the first wookie in hairiness.

    Ah... VERY good QUESTION!

She's not "an Arab broad" you see.. her name is "Kelley" - and OBVIOUSLY Irish name. And she's... umm.. well, stacked up in the right places, outgoing and able to fit into high class joints, parties etc. And married to a Doctor.

In my time in service I ran into women like this - my wife usually picked them out instantly and warned me and friends to 'stay away' because they were bad news.

But those were the military groupies who hung with "friends of friends", got invited to the keggers you mentioned and wound up sleeping with somebody or another, and in general causing problems among the troops, their wives, the commanders and everyone in general.

This is just a high level groupie if you ask me - BUT she has ulterior motives.

Look at the connections to politicians, military people (Nothing "lower" of course than a Colonel!)

Military officers (appointed/commissioned as opposed to us lowly "non-commissioned" officers) are keen to get political appointments to higher offices, or make outside contacts for "later" when they "retire" and move to "corporate life".

So you have to understand that Majors, Colonels, Generals and the similar (though civilian) counterparts are constantly looking for ANYONE and ANYTHING and ANYPLACE that will show them in a favorable light, get them connections for "name dropping" and "networking" later.

This is the "Good Old Boy" network still functioning after all these years just on a different basis than it used to me.

This Kelley woman is a plant if you ask me. She's someone who was chosen by some one to be where she is, put herself in this position and take the fall if the shit hits the fan as it did... though, it was HER FAULT the fan was turned on in the first place. Had she not made any connection to the Shirtless FBI dude to the emails from the author of the Bio for the General then nothing at all would have come from this.

From the SOUND of things (the tiny pieces, the little statements etc) I'm gathering it appears to me anyway, that she made a mistake here... however, this could have been the front domino to bring down a hell of a lot of "anti-Obama" military officers. Hell, even Marco Rubio posed with them. He's a Republican. It's just a matter of who she could use, and win over to her stupid "charity" which doesn't even exist - and get money for herself (80 megabucks from a Republican Business owner), a hit or two on the "General" to maybe pull him in (and what the hell, the HEAD of the CIA????? Who wouldn't wanna be buddy buddy with him????).

The Biographer is almost an innocent bystander in all of this (she's not, but compared to this Jill Kelley, her husband and this sister...though, she might as well "just be a biographer" at this point).

Men make mistakes because of bra sizes and abilities in others that we won't detail here. So... an affair is one thing. Getting connected up to some "Arab broad" who has "connections" is the most suspicious thing *I* personally have ever seen (with the noted exception of my close friend, the so-called "Danish"chick who spoke seven languages - including Latin - fluently, whose daddy was a spy, and she was pulling similar things - to my knowledge STILL IS pulling the same things).

See Mal - I'm very jaded on this. The Bio woman is one thing. It's almost NATURAL to assume a General away from home for months at a time might have something going on on the side. But this gal begs a lot more questions than anyone is going to ask (I'm betting this gets swept under the rug soon enough when Benghazi finally goes away).

By the way, Mal, I have to say one more thing... Whatever her background, whatever her agenda (hidden or not) and no matter WHO her connections were - her cover, such as it was is blown and she won't be using ANYTHING that she has learned in the future. (Of course I'm probably giving her a lot more credit for being 'smart' than she truly is.

I think personally she's a bimbo puppet who got connected up in the all the right ways, with the right people and blew it because she made a misstep in her planning (or directions from someone else).

At least it's caught before it could do greater harm to America by her pulling information out of the General.

(She never got it - though Broadwell MIGHT have... some claims she had classified on her personal computers, a really, really big no-no for any of us, regardless if you are military, civilian or contractor).

One other thing I probably should disclose here is my wife and I are about to get actively involved with the Sea Scouts. Believe it or not, we have a Sea Scout divison here in Colorado. Turns out, it's just starting out. We have been invited up to help... why? Because 1) I'm retired military, 2) I was a senior NCO, 3) I am a Ham Radio Operator, 4) My wife and I are both sailors, 5) We have been in and around the Military for a very long time (from the time I went into HS I have been connected with the military, from ROTC, to active duty, the White House, Reserves, Contracting and working on military installations....

We don't have "agenda" other than to help young men and women (kids from 11-17) gain experience in sailing and perhaps decide if we're going to donate our own boat to the Sea Scouts here in Colorado.

Won't be any lavish parties, no drugs, drinking, sex with boys or heavy chested women (ok, well my wife and I might make that last one happen, LOL!)

And we help in the community without being loud, obnoxious or "decadent" about it. We support the AFA sports programs, we support the football team at the Air Force Academy, and we support the troops both leaving and coming back. It's got nothing to do with trying to "get connections" or "make money for a charity"...

The Florida socialite whose report of harassing emails from Paula Broadwell ultimately led to the resignation of CIA director Gen. David Petraeus forged close ties with top military and intelligence officials in Tampa, hosting lavish parties at her waterfront mansion and earning accolades as an "honorary ambassador" to the military and an honorary consul general for Korea.
But detractors say that Jill Kelley, 37, is a social climber whose lavish lifestyle is now threatened by millions of dollars in debt and possible foreclosure on her home, and who tried to exploit her connections, perhaps even enlisting Gen. Petraeus in her sister's bitter child custody fight.
Jill Kelley and her twin sister Natalie Khawam grew up in the Philadelphia area, daughters of a Lebanese immigrant couple who owned a local restaurant. Jill and Natalie would appear together on a 2003 episode of a Food Channel program called "Food Fight," in which they dressed in designer clothes while cooking alligator in a cook-off against two brothers.
After Kelley and her husband Scott, a cancer surgeon, moved to Tampa, Khawam came to live with them and their three children in their $1.5 million home on Bayshore Boulevard.

In Tampa, Kelley volunteered her time to support the military, planning and hosting charitable events for CENTCOM, the Defense Department's Central Command, which is based at Tampa's MacDill Air Force Base and has responsibility for directing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kelley, her husband and her sister Natalie became friendly with major players, including both Gen. Petraeus and Gen. John Allen, commander of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
"Jill is known as a gracious host, a vivacious individual," said Aaron Fodiman, editor and publisher of Tampa Bay Magazine.
Kelley's social efforts on behalf of the military earned her the unpaid title of "honorary ambassador" to Coalition Forces in Afghanistan, and she was also named honorary counsel for South Korea.
In a statement, Kelley and her husband Scott said they are close friends with the Petraeus family. The families have spent the holidays together several times over the years and celebrated Christmas together last year, according to Petraeus' daughter Anne's personal blog.
"Our friends from Tampa (the twins Jill and Natalie, plus Jill's husband Scott and their three little girls, as well as Natalie's 2-year-old son John) were in town and came over for an afternoon feast and presents at our place," she wrote in the blog.
"There was no question they were friends," said Fodiman, "and no reason why they wouldn't be friends." See the timeline of the Petraeus/Broadwell affair HERE.
This summer when Kelley received anonymous e-mails accusing her of flaunting a friendly relationship with military brass in Tampa, she called the FBI, which traced those e-mails back to the computer of Paula Broadwell, co-author of the Petraeus biography "All In." Investigators are said to have found emails in Broadwell's inbox that pointed to an intimate affair with Petraeus. Petraeus announced his resignation as CIA director on Friday.
After the media spotlight turned from Broadwell to Kelley, questions about Kelley's lifestyle and her ties to the military surfaced.

Public schmoozing of Jill Kelley's sister belied chaotic private life

By Ben Montgomery, Times Staff Writer

Natalie Khawam, above, and her twin sister, Jill Kelley, made numerous calls to Tampa police over the past several years.

    [Amy Scherzer | Times (2010)]

TAMPA — The Tampa police pulled up at the giant brick house at 1005 Bayshore Blvd. just after 10 a.m. on Aug. 10. In the driveway, officers found a process server who had been trying diligently to deliver a subpoena to a 37-year-old woman named Natalie Khawam. Her car was in the driveway. The server thought she was inside.

There's no mention of it in the notes the officers would file, but two agents from the FBI were there that day as well.
"She was rather fearful of what was going on," said the process server's boss, Amy San Marco, of San Marco and Associates in St. Petersburg. The server can't remember if the men identified themselves, or if the officers did, but she's certain they were with the FBI.
The episode ended when Jill Kelley came out of the house with wet hair, screaming at the server, then finally accepted the subpoena on her twin sister's behalf, San Marco said. But in retrospect, it was a collision of two worlds.

The FBI had been investigating threatening emails sent by CIA director David Petraeus' mistress to Jill Kelley. And the process server was there to serve Kelley's sister Khawam, who had acquired a staggering amount of debt and legal troubles since she moved to Tampa from Washington, D.C., in early 2009.

Police released the dispatch notes Wednesday, along with other calls for service that shed light on the odd goings-on at the mansion where Jill Kelley, surgeon husband Scott, 46, and Khawam entertained Petraeus and other military leaders from MacDill Air Force Base. The juxtaposition of the personal troubles — including heavy debt and lawsuits — against the public perception of the twins, who dined with the leaders of the free world, has confused some who knew them.

"Some people like to hang around with people perceived as being big shots," said Tampa lawyer Barry Cohen, whose firm had been trying to serve Khawam that August morning. Khawam "does what she thinks is necessary for her to be perceived as being important."

Khawam and her sister made numerous calls to Tampa police over the past several years. Jill Kelley reported break-ins of her cars and her garage. Her identical twin's calls, however, involved much wilder, unsubstantiated allegations.

On May 12, 2010, Khawam called police to report a violation of a domestic violence injunction against her husband, living in Washington, D.C. Khawam told police that her husband had previously threatened to kill her and that he had forced her to watch child pornography. She provided documents concerning an alleged act of abuse in March 2009. One of the witnesses that Khawam named was Susan Fallon, the daughter of former CentCom commander Adm. William J. Fallon. Susan Fallon did not respond to a call for comment.

In June, 2010, Khawam summoned Tampa police to her sister's Bayshore mansion, alleging that a man who "works for her husband" had been "banging on her front door" two nights earlier. Khawam, 37, told the officer that this violated a domestic violence injunction she had taken out against her husband.

Khawam insisted the officer file a report, even though "she did not have any proof … that the subject works for her husband," according to the officer. The officer urged Khawam to gather more evidence in the future. "She advised it was not her job," the officer wrote. Later, the officer checked whether Khawam had called police two nights earlier, as she had claimed, and found she hadn't.

Later that same month Khawam reported another man banging on her door and videotaping through the windows. She told police that this man had been hired by her husband, whom she said was "a terrorist sympathizer … funneling money overseas."

The complaints never went far. In fact, a judge cited them in awarding full custody of her child to her husband.

Khawam filed for bankruptcy in April, noting she owed creditors, banks and associates $3.6 million. Several local attorneys are still trying to get paid for their services.

State documents show she recently became involved in a business, Fullproof LLC. The attorney representing the venture, Todd Marks, said the company was formed to protect intellectual property while they pursued a patent. He wouldn't discuss it further. But Khawam's bankruptcy filing shows she owes a partner in the business, Lisa Krowne, $250,000 for a personal loan.

Petraeus and Gen. John R. Allen both wrote letters to the court on Khawam's behalf, praising her integrity and parenting skills. This for a person the judge said "lacks any appreciation or respect for the importance of honesty and integrity in her interactions with her family, employers and others with whom she comes in contact."

One of those employers was Cohen. The lawyer was asked why men held in such high regard would vouch for Khawam. "I think they knew the side of her that she wanted them to see," he said. "But sadly there's a darker side."

Times researcher Jon Martin contributed to this report. Ben Montgomery can be reached at bmontgomery@tampabay.com or (727) 893-8650.
