Russian Armed Forces Set For Combined Forces Exercises
Russian airborne troops and transport aviation will conduct two-day large-scale exercises in several regions, an official said Wednesday.

Air Force Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky said IL-76 transport aircraft would conduct more than 40 flight missions, dropping about 4,000 paratroopers and 20 combat vehicles.

"Airdrops will be conducted on March 15-16," he said.

Russian military transport aviation has performed about 50 training missions since the beginning of 2006.

Ryan... What do you think they are planning for? A middle east invasion or a re-annex of a satellite state? I'd be interested to see where their short term goals are pointing.
