If Rick Perry wants to execute American citizens without getting the left all riled up, he should use Hellfire missiles like Obama does.

michael, I think we're at one of the most scary times (politically speaking) in our nation's history.

If Zero stays in office, I believe the end is nigh.

And the current GOP candidates are better than Zero, but they'll still give the nation away.

Except Paul and Cain, and I don't think either of them has a chance.

    Cain, maybe.

    Paul, nope.

    I fear we're fooked.

Man, I'd really have to think about that one.

The Republic might be on it's last legs, but hell, i'm just hoping Civilization and Humanity survive the next twenty years after all this...
I think that's really where we're at; will those survive?

Humanity seems the most threatened to me.

The governmen has convinced many (? most) folks they are the saviors, the giver of everything good, etc. And those that are convinced will keep electing those doing the convincing.

But it's a house of cards.

The government can't afford to maintain this.

So what happens, folks will start rioting.

But they're not rioting because they realized what the government pulled was a scam; they'll riot because their entitlements stopped.

We're living in a house of cards, and the breeze just picked up.

Let me add some more about humanity.

I just reread Alas Babylon, One Second After, and The Road.

    The Road has perfect examples.

The boy asked the man a few times if they were “carrying the fire” and if they were the “good guys.”

The man answered each time, “yes.”

But the boy wanted to give a stranger some food, and the man was hesitant almost to the point of argument.

The “fire” they commented on was their humanity. It seemed an important to the man and they boy they kept it. I will say the man certainly understood the implications to that much more so than the boy, and it’s a great point the man was trying to pass that idea along to the boy.

But, as evidenced by the man’s hesitancy to give food to a stranger that was gonna die anyway, humanity will develop a tough external shell. And that shell may be called Self Preservation.

I know folks that have already developed that shell. Myself included. I did medical stuff in the mil for years, and I have a great sense of compassion, empathy, and sympathy. But I’ll shoot you dead if you threaten me. That shell protects me.

I see that shell being developed in others today.

How much that shell develops is anybody’s guess. Things may get worse, and that shell turns into something right out of The Road. Then maybe things will turn around in this country.

    I kinda doubt it though.

I just want to pip in for a second.

You should read Farnham's Freehold. It's a nice fit with those other books you just read.

I like facts, and try my best to find them.

It appears to me that Rick Perry was NOT Gore's Campaign Manager.

I now believe previous reports were wrong, and quite possibly a Left tactic.

There are quite a few sources, here's 2:

    http://www.politifact.com/texas/arti...exas-campaign/

Rick Perry backed Al Gore, didn't lead his Texas campaign

    SNIP

But interviews with political players in Texas and Tennessee and news articles from 1988 have convinced us that, although Perry endorsed Gore, he was not his Texas chairman.

Ray Sullivan, a spokesman for Perry’s presidential campaign, recently told us by email: "We have no record or recollection of any leadership position" for Perry in Gore’s 1988 campaign.

    SNIP

    http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnal...erleader-.aspx

    SNIP

As the website Politifact.com points out, Perry, while having endorsed Gore, was far from being his Texas campaign manager. Perry's "chairmanship" appears to have originated as a 1998 campaign attack when Perry ran for lieutenant governor.

Democrat John Sharp made the charge about Perry's leadership role in the Gore campaign when Sharp faced Perry in that 1998 race. Sharp recently acknowledged Perry wasn't chairman of Gore's 1988 Texas campaign. When reminded that he said otherwise on the hustings, Sharp said: "Never could prove it."

Rick Perry is getting lots of support around here from the Latinos.

    Why?

Because of his open borders dream and the fact he gave in-state tuition to illegal immigrants.

If he makes it to the White House, I'm fairly convinced there's enough folks in both Houses to disolve what borders we do have.

    We're fucked.

    His video will:

    1. Piss off those that don't want to hear about religion in an election.

    2. Piss off the gays in the mil.

    3. Piss off the aethists; they may not vote for a Christian who talks about it.

    4. Piss off those that think religion and politics don't mix.

    5. Piss off those that think there should be no prayer in school.

    Transcript:

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.

As President, I'll end Obama's war on religion. And I'll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.

Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.

I'm Rick Perry and I approve this message.

I'm sorry, I didn't see the video link in there while at work. My apologies. I've seen that video.

I wasn't pissed at him, but a little perturbed at his remarks.

But he IS right. You CAN serve in the military and be openly gay now...a nd I know some of them. And you can't go anywhere without assholes telling you to shut up about Christmas.

So, for that part I agree with him.

Now, this one, I haven't seen yet.

Perry failed to get in the Virginia Primary ballot for March. Unlike Newt he is not crying too loudly about it.
