Occupy Supporter Threatens to ‘Storm’ Wall St. and Capitals With Guns in USA Today…Is This Him?
    February 23, 2012

A letter to the editor of USA Today is drawing considerable attention after it calls on protesters to consider using their “Second Amendment-sanctioned guns“ to ”storm Wall Street and our nation’s capitals.”

(Related: Occupier caught bringing gun into NYC courthouse)

The author, Rich Latta from Austin, TX, is upset over a USA Today editorial that characterizes the Occupy movement as “fading into a whimper.”

“But with the recent clearing of encampments in Washington, D.C.— one of the last cities in which they still existed — a movement that came in with a bang appears to be going out with a whimper,” that original editorial reads. “Future political operatives might view it as a case study in how not to organize a lasting movement.”

It continues: “They did nothing day after day, week after week, under the mistaken belief that camping in public plazas would prompt some kind of action from others. … The Occupiers lacked identifiable leaders and clear goals. And they presented bewildering messages to the public, epitomized in the irony of people sitting idle to protest those who had made fortunes.”

For Latta, though, that just wouldn’t do.

“Anyone who claims the ‘Occupy’ movement has no clear message is either trying to discredit it or simply isn’t paying attention,” he writes in his response, the passion nearly visible in his keystrokes. “This protest always has been about economic injustice and the fact that a small handful of people have corrupted our system in their favor.”

    He then boils over:
USA TODAY’s editorial is right to say that Occupy might lack clear goals on how to move forward, but the movement has accomplished its main original goal: to protest these injustices, not by simply holding a rally and going home, but by keeping the rally going to underscore the seriousness of this problem. Your piece accuses the protesters of sitting around and doing nothing. So maybe they should take up their Second Amendment-sanctioned guns and storm Wall Street and our nation’s capitals. If our country doesn’t change, it could very well come to that one day. [Emphasis added]

Ironic for a movement that has claimed to be so peaceful to attract someone who would make such a suggestion. And on top of that, it’s worth pointing out the letter is dated February 15, which means it’s over a week old. Jim Treacher explains why that is curious:
It’s headline news when a Tea Party guy gets arrested for going to the airport and trying to check in an unloaded, registered weaponin a lockbox as part of his luggage.

But an Occupier publishes a letter in a national newspaper about “storming Wall Street” with guns, and I don’t find out about it until a week later. It’s not seen as a credible threat, despite the fact that Occupy’s rap sheet dwarfs that of the Tea Party.
So who exactly is Rich Latta? We did some digging and found a Rich Latta from Austin, TX that’s a regular reviewer on Amazon. In fact, he has 405 reviews posted, many of obscure music albums; he has a birthday coming up (April 5); and in his “Interests” section he lists his “personal obsession” as “exposing the fallicy [sic] and harm of deity-based religions.”

“I believe our world can never hope to find peace until these religions are exposed and refuted by a courageous, truth-seeking public,” he writes. “In the meantime, I write music reviews for my own amusement to stay in practice when I’m not writing creatively.”

Could this be the same Rich Latta that wants to “maybe” take up arms against Wall St.? Maybe. We emailed the Rich Latta associated with the Amazon account and have yet to hear back. We’ll let you know if we do.

Or maybe you’ll see him on the news.
    Let's get this party started!

It’s Coming: Union, Leftist Leaders Announce ‘99% Spring?’… and Training in ‘Places of Worship’
    February 27, 2012

Since Occupy Wall Street seemingly went into hibernation (we note seemingly because the movement keeps popping up despite what some national outlets are reporting), The Blaze has brought you plenty of analysis theorizing that the spring could be an even bigger time for the movement. Now, it looks like those theories have been confirmed: the unions and other leftists have announced a “99% spring.”

“We are at a crossroads as a country,” a letter on the site dedicated to the new movement says. “We have a choice to make. Greater wealth for a few or opportunity for many. Tax breaks for the richest or a fair shot for the rest of us. A government that can be bought by the highest bidder, or a democracy that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

It continues: “The choice is in our hands. This spring, we will act on that choice and rise up in the tradition of our forefathers and foremothers. We will not be complicit with the suffering in our families for another year. We will prepare ourselves for sustained non-violent direct action.”

That “preparation” looks like a week-long training session from April 9-15. But not just any training session, this training session will be held across the country and will reportedly feature meetings in “places of worship:”
From April 9-15 we will gather across America, 100,000 strong, in homes, places of worship, campuses and the streets to join together in the work of reclaiming our country. We will organize trainings to:

    1. Tell the story of our economy: how we got here, who’s responsible, what a different future could look like, and what we can do about it
    2. Learn the history of non-violent direct action, and
    3. Get into action on our own campaigns to win change.
“This spring we rise!” the website declares. “We will reshape our country with our own hands and feet, bodies and hearts. We will take non-violent action in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi to forge a new destiny one block, one neighborhood, one city, one state at a time.”

So just who exactly is behind this? The letter contains “signers” that will be familiar to you. Or at least their organizations will. And it’s a buffet of far leftists, unions, and even the communist group Working Families Party. Oh, and of course Van Jones:

    • Sarita Gupta
      • Jobs With Justice
    • Bob King
      • United Auto Workers
    • George Goehl
      • National Peoples Action
    • Ai-jen Poo
      • National Domestic Workers Alliance
    • Justin Ruben
      • MoveOn.org
    • Mary Kay Henry
      • Service Employees International Union
    • Van Jones and Natalie Foster
      • Rebuild the Dream
    • Phil Radford
      • Greenpeace
    • Leo Gerard
      • United Steel Workers
    • Daniel Cantor
      • Working Families Party
    • Bruce Klipple
      • United Electrical Workers Union

But while Bob King of the United Auto Workers (UAW) is a signer of the letter, might the union be behind it more than it’s letting on? It would seem so. The Daily Caller was able to download a cache of files from the UAW website last week that point to a high level of organizing:
[A] series of files The Daily Caller downloaded from the United Auto Workers website indicate that the organized labor powerhouse is behind the effort.

The files, downloaded Sunday, include campaign talking points, a fill-in-the-blank press release template for participating organizations and an advance look at the social media campaign the organizers plan for Facebook and Twitter.

Also included is a “FYI” letter designed for endorsers to distribute, complete with a blank space at the top of the list of participating groups. Filling in a given organization’s name lends the impression that it, not the UAW, is the campaign’s driving force.

A Google cache indicates that the files were available on an unprotected area of the UAW’s web server at least as early as February 16. They disappeared from public view Monday.
The Caller was able to capture the information before it was deleted:

Uaw 99 Percent Spring Daily Caller

Also interesting? It appears the domain for the 99% Spring was registered by the leftist group MoveOn.org (also a signer of the letter).

“We will rise this spring, because we DO hold these truths to be self evident,” the 99% Spring site concludes, “that all men and women are created equal, that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

    Get ready.

Call for May Day Offensive Reveals Communist Direction of Occupy Wall Street Movement | Print |

    Written by William F. Jasper
    Tuesday, 03 April 2012 17:07

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrators may have lost some of their headline cachet over the past few months, but they are aiming to reclaim the limelight with a revitalized “Occupy Spring” campaign, with special emphasis on a major May Day offensive on May 1 that includes calls for a “general strike” nationwide.

A “May Day 2012” print and Internet flyer (pictured at left) put out by May Day New York City (MayDayNYC) declares:
    MAY DAY 2012

OCCUPY WALL STREET STANDS IN SOLIDARITY
WITH THE CALLS FOR A DAY WITHOUT THE 99%
    WHEREEVER YOU ARE
    NO WORK
    NO SCHOOL
    NO HOUSEWORK
    NO SHOPPING

“ON MAY 1, 2012,” the flyer goes on to state, “Millions of people throughout the world — workers, students, immigrants, professionals, houseworkers — employed and unemployed alike — will take to the streets to unite in a General Strike against a system that does not work for us. Don't go to work. Don't go to school. Don't shop. Take the streets!”

New York’s leftwing Village Voice notes that “Occupy Wall Street's May Day organizers [are] … working with the May Day Coalition, whose massive 2006 Day Without Immigrants rally effectively revived the observation of May Day in New York.”

The “May Day Coalition” the Voice refers to is actually the MayDayNYC group that put out the above-mentioned general strike flyer. And MayDayNYC is just another name for the May 1st Coalition for Worker and Immigrant Rights, which is headquartered at 55 West 17th Street, #5C, New York, NY 10011. Which just happens to be the same address as the International Action Center (IAC) — and the same address as the Workers World Party (WWP), a revolutionary communist party with its own peculiar Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyist ideology and party line. Not only do all the above-mentioned groups occupy the same address, but all are run pretty much by the same Workers World Party staff. Which is another way of saying that the organizations are merely fronts for the WWP.

As we explained in our May, 2006 article, “Pawns in a Losing Game”, the massive nationwide May Day demonstrations of that year were organized and coordinated by the WWP and their Marxist-Leninist comrades in the Communist Party USA, Revolutionary Communist Party, Socialist Workers Party, Progressive Labor Party, and the Committees of Correspondence. Their objectives in that case were to organize, mobilize, and radicalize millions of illegal aliens and Hispanic Americans, and at the same time demonize and marginalize opponents of an amnesty as racist bigots. In 2003, the same communist network organized their May Day events around the anti-war theme.

It was no accident that the comrades chose May 1st for their Marxist extravaganza; our May 2006 companion article, “History of May Day” provides a brief survey of the significance of May Day in communist circles over the past century.

The May Day events being planned for this year are being centered on the Occupy movement and our nation’s deepening economic crisis. As noted in previous articles in The New American, much of the top leadership of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement has been drawn from veteran cadres of the Marxist-Leninist camp, including the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), Socialist Workers Party (SWP), Workers World Party (WWP), Progressive Labor Party (PLP), the Black Panther Party (BPP), Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), and the Weather Underground (WU) terrorists. (See here, here, and here.)

Many of the Marxist-Leninist activists from these organizations, who led violent demonstrations and riots in the 1960s and '70s, are now professors at our colleges and universities and are carrying on “the revolution” from within the walls of academia. Bill Ayers, Angela Davis, Todd Gitlin, Bettina Aptheker, Frances Fox Piven, Barbara Ehrenreich, Mark Rudd, Marcus Raskin, Arthur Waskow, Stanley Aronowitz, Bill Fletcher, Jr., and Saul Landau are but a small sampling of the radical professoriate providing strategic, tactical, and inspirational leadership to the OWS movement.

In addition to the WWP, as we mentioned above, the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), a hardline Maoist party, is very much involved in the Occupy movement and organizing the May Day demonstrations.

The RCP influence is plainly evident in the text of the MayDayNYC home page, which declares:

When we come together, we recognize the common struggles we face and the common interests we have. With this collective power we can begin to build the world we want to see. Another world is possible! [Emphasis in original.]

“Another world is possible” is a signature slogan of the RCP and its chairman-in-exile, Bob Avakian. It is ubiquitous in RCP literature and on its website, posters, flyers, and blog posts. It appears in the second sentence of the RCP’s online “A Call for May Day 2012.”

It appears as the subtitle on the home page of Occupy Congress, an OWS adjunct.

Stephen Lerner, an International Executive Board member of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), slips in the RCP slogan in the opening sentence of his OWS essay for the current issue of The Nation magazine, writing: “Occupy has cracked open the door that lets us imagine that another world is possible.”

But beyond the specific rhetorical connections, there are many top RCP activists leading and organizing many of the OWS and May Day activities.

Then there is the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), cited as “the foremost legal bulwark of the Communist Party” by the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1950. Since the NLG’s founding in the 1930s, its attorneys have ever been ready, able, and willing to come to the aid of spies, terrorists, subversives, and rioters. The NLG’s website lists dozens of cities across the country where it has legal teams that will come to assist Occupy demonstrators who get arrested.

A laudatory March 21 article for In These Times, “National Lawyers Guild Fights for the Right to Occupy,” notes that in New York City alone, the NLG has 44 attorneys tasked to deal with OWS arrests. (In These Times, it should be noted, includes among the radical coterie listed as its “Board of Editors” Bill Ayers, the infamous Weather Underground terrorist, who still describes himself as “a small ‘c’ communist.” Professor Ayers can be seen in a video below advising the younger OWS demonstrators on the finer points of street revolutionary tactics.)

Of course, the “c” word is never mentioned in news coverage of the Occupy events, even when the leading organizers and spokesmen are well-known officials of communist parties and organizations and are identified as such in event literature. Ditto for “Marxist,” “Marxist-Leninist,” and “socialist.” Even though these are labels that many of the OWS leaders and activists use to identify themselves, their allies in the OWS-friendly corporate “mainstream media” have, apparently, decided to market them to America as “progressives,” which sounds more benign.

In addition to the generally sympathetic coverage from the major corporate media, the OWS activists can count on actual advocacy and promotion from the leftist “alternative media,” such as The Nation, In These Times, Mother Jones, The Progressive, The Village Voice, The Huffington Post, and dozens of others.

The Nation, one of the oldest leftist, pro-communist magazines still in publication, has 11 articles in its April 2 print edition “Occupy Spring” series, by ultra-leftist authors Frances Fox Piven, Todd Gitlin, Richard Kim, Stephen Lerner, Michael Moore, Bill Fletcher, Jr., Arun Gupta, and others. The April 16 issue of The Nation features a cover story by communist revolutionary Tom (“Mr. Jane Fonda” and “We are all Vietcong”) Hayden entitled, “Participatory Democracy/ From the Port Huron Statement to Occupy Wall Street,” celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the SDS — and the SDS legacy that lives on in the OWS movement. Like other SDSers who engaged in treason, riots, and revolution in their youth and now revel in their roles as “elder statesmen” to a new generation of revolutionaries, Hayden sees a host of new possibilities in the Occupy movement. He also pats himself on the back, noting that, “The SDS call for a participatory democracy echoes today in student-led democracy movements around the world, even appearing as the first principle of the Occupy Wall Street September 17 declaration.”

Regardless of whether or not the Occupy May Day turns out to be the massive event Hayden, Ayers, and their Marxist-Leninist comrades intend it to be, we can be sure that they will attempt to parlay it into another step in their Long March to revolutionize and transform America.

Because everyone has a slightly different idea of what Conservatism actually is. And we bicker about religion, abortion and all that stuff.

See... while we might think abortion is horrible, it is NOT a political thing - and everyone wants to mix it in. So do those who are very religious.

Keeping your personal religion to yourself is best in my opinion.

I agree with you, Rick, for the most part. However, abortion has been forced into the political arena by the Left. We, out of neccesity, have to counter their positions predicated on our own individual moral stance. My moral condition has direct influence on my world view which determines my political perspective. That said - abortion should be strictly a moral arguement and should not be included within any group's agenda.

    I understand this.

I was running for D-11 School board here many years ago. I went to about seven forums where most of the candidates were running for four opening seats. There were fifteen of us running for those positions.

The job of school board member, unpaid, is still an elected position and it is there to run the schools in the district, work out budgets and set policy in the schools.

During these forums one "intrepid" wanna be newsie from that "progressive" paper that used to be around the Springs area (forget the name at the moment), asked us as a group "What is your position on abortion?"

Not once, but at every, single forum.

Everyone endeavored to answer the question except me. Every time he asked, I stated "This is not a subject for me to decide. It is a subject for each set of parents to discuss with their children. In fact I don't believe it is something that should be brought up in schools, with teachers, students and administrators. Leave this to the parents..."

Every TIME I answered this way, I got a hearty round of applause.

At the very last forum a night or so prior to the elections - I was asked again, only this time he directed the question ONLY to me....

"Mr. Donaldson, we would like to know your exact position on abortion, and why you seem to think it is not a subject for the school teachers or administrators to worry about..."

My response was, "Mr... (his name escapes me) you have asked this question in each and every forum. My Liberal opponents have given several answers. My Conservative opponents have fallen into the trap of answering with religious values. I have answered from the heart - and that is the subject belongs with PARENTS. Teachers have no business deciding such things. However, you have convinced me that in truth I am probably FOR Abortion now. The way I see it, if Liberals are continually aborting their young, pretty soon, there won't be any more of your kind to bother the rest of us...."

(That is paraphrased, because I don't remember the exact words, and it was, extemporaneous) - I got a STANDING ovation from the audience and every, single Conservative candidate. Several of those candidates voted for me, and not themselves. lol

So you're correct in that they have politicized it. That does NOT mean we must play by their rules, nor should we.

Personally, I think the Tea Party has been more than marginally effective. Witness the 2010 mid-term elections. One of the biggest turnovers in election history.

The thing is, many establishment and media types refuse to acknowledge it so it doesn't seem to be as effective as it was/is.

Maybe I'm being too pessimistic. I recognize the apparent success of the mid-terms. My only concern is in regard to real change in our political system. Our government has fallen far over the last two centuries from where it began. There is little excuse for this.

Well, I can certainly see that there are generational changes, and political changes... and politicians are people who sniff the wind and "go with it" to stay in office.

IF we had term limits, you can bet your ass things would level out, the field would level out and the people would level out eventually.

Getting our children and grand children away from LIBERALS would help IMMENSELY though.

“Occupy the RNC” Instructional Video Advises Firebombing Police Officers

    July 11, 2012

“ResistRNC,” a five day Occupy protest of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida this August, has some chilling new videos posted on their website that encourages horrific protestor violence towards police.

In a statement at the top of the action webpage, resistRNC says, “if you are looking for ideas to help you with your action planning, here are some helpful videos!”

In one of ResistRNC’s “helpful videos,” a young man is seen lighting a Molotov cocktail on fire, and then hurling the firebomb towards a group of police. The video is actually a mashup of a Jay-Z and Kanye West song in which the musical pair apparently celebrates their love of violence and police brutality with their new song “No Church In The Wild.”

A second video involving a packed athletic stadium, shows members of the crowd lighting fireworks and tossing burning torches onto the track towards individuals on the field, presumably police.

At the end of their “advice”, resistRNC concludes with the following encouragement: “You must visualize the possibilities to make it a reality. Anything is possible… anything. Happy Action Planning!”

What’s most appalling is that ResistRNC appears to be quite proud of their planned effort, even issuing a specific statement to any law enforcement officials whom may be investigating their efforts.

In a special “Notice to Law Enforcement Spying on Us,” ResistRNC writes, “We exist to provide information and facilitate logistics for people resisting the RNC. Don’t f**k with us.”

As dangerous and criminal as the movement may be, ResistRNC has received the endorsement of several prominent coalitions, including Occupy Wall Street, CODEPINK, and Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

The entire effort is a particularly chilling foreshadowing of what protestors might resort to at the RNC Convention in Tampa this August, and also demonstrates an appalling disregard for the safety of American law enforcement officials

So.... the cities preparing for the conventions are outfitting their cops with a lot of "riot gear".

    Expecting riots, I reckon....

The agency has ordered masses of riot gear equipment to prepare for potential domestic riots at the events, RT.com reported.

The Department of Homeland Security submitted a rushed solicitation to the Federal Business Opportunities site on Wednesday, RT.com reported, The site is a portal for Federal government procurement requisitions over $25,000. Part of the solicitation reads, “The objective of this effort is to procure riot gear to prepare for the 2012 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the 2013 Presidential Inauguration and other future similar activities,” according to RT.com, a Russian English-language news channel which brings the Russian view on global news.

DHS is ordering about 150 sets of riot helmets, thigh and groin protectors, hard-shell shin guards, and other riot gear for Federal Protective Service agents tasked with protecting federal property and grounds, according to the website.

Homeland Security Prepares for ‘Anonymous’ Riots
by Tom McGregor Sun, Jul 29, 2012, 08:24 PM
An anarchist terrorist group (so-called Left Wing faction of Bilderbergers) calling itself, ‘Anonymous,’ which claims to have ignited the Anaheim riots and hampered with police radio communications during President Barack Obama’s visit to Oakland, may soon face a more confrontational Department of Homeland Security. According to Russia Today, “the Department of Homeland Security has ordered masses of riot gear equipment to prepare for potential significant domestic riots at the Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and next year’s presidential inauguration.”
On Wednesday, the DHS submitted a rushed solicitation to the Federal business Opportunities site that is a portal for federal government procurement requisitions over $25,000. The request had granted potential suppliers just one day to submit their purposes and a 15-day delivery requirement to Alexandria, Virginia.
As reported by RT, “as the brief explains, ‘the objective is to procure riot gear to prepare for the 2012 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the 2013 Presidential inauguration and other future similar activities.’”
Homeland Security ordered approximately 150 sets of riot helmets, thigh and groin protectors, hard-shell shin guards and other riot gear.

DHS gears up for civil unrest prior to presidential elections

The Department of Homeland Security has ordered masses of riot gear equipment to prepare for potential significant domestic riots at the Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and next year’s presidential inauguration.

The DHS submitted a rushed solicitation to the Federal Business Opportunities site on Wednesday, which is a portal for Federal government procurement requisitions over $25,000. The request gave the potential suppliers only one day to submit their proposals and a 15-day delivery requirement to Alexandria, Virginia.

As the brief explains, “the objective of this effort is to procure riot gear to prepare for the 2012 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the 2013 Presidential Inauguration and other future similar activities.”

The total amount ordered is about 150 sets of riot helmets, thigh and groin protectors, hard-shell shin guards and other riot gear.

Specifically, DHS is looking to obtain:

    - “147 riot helmets” with “adjustable tactical face shield with liquid seal”
    - “147 sets of upper body and shoulder protection”
    - “152 sets of thigh and groin protection”
    - “147 hard-shell shin guards” with “substantial protection from flying debris, non-ballistic weapons, and blows to the leg” and “optimized protective design for severe riot control or tactical situations.”

    - “156 forearm protectors”

    - “147 pairs of tactical gloves”

The riot gear will be worn by Federal Protective Service agents who are tasked with protecting property, grounds and buildings owned by the federal government.

The urgency of the order can be explained by the fact that there is a growing anticipation that many demonstrators will travel to the Republican National Convention (RNC), scheduled for August 27-30 in Tampa Bay, Florida, and Democratic National Convention (DNC), planned for September 3-6 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The RNC itself, for example, will have free speech zones, which will serve as containment quarters for the protesters by not allowing them to leave the designated areas and cause trouble.

Another recent DHS move to gear up was back in March of this year, when it gave the defense contractor ATK a deal to provide the DHS with 450 million .40 caliber hollow-point ammunition over a five year period.

On top of that, the DHS has recently purchased a number of bullet-proof checkpoint booths and hired hundreds of new security guards to protect government buildings.
