Okay everybody, let's see what everyone's desktop looks like!
This is what I have now:
The wallpaper is a picture of Operation Upshot-Knothole, Shot Badger, 23 kiloton yield, conducted April 18, 1953 at the Nevada Test Site.
I have other nuclear detonation wallpapers that I switch between as well. I also have other wallpapers of various military hardware (land, sea, and air), various firearms, and a couple space wallpapers.
In case you are wondering why my version of Windows (I am actually running Windows XP Pro) looks so odd, it is because I am running WindowBlinds. WindowBlinds is a skinning program for Windows XP and I am using the Blackcomb skin. It's cool because it has a feature that allows me to tack windows on top of everything else and also collapse them to just their title bars. I use this feature a lot when listening to AOL Radio.
And for the heck of it, I'm also going to share my "New Mail" indicator sound with you all!
I run Mozilla Thunderbird for a mail program with Thundertray to keep it minimized to the system tray and yet still run in the background to constantly check for new mail.
I used to have the Howard Dean scream for my new mail sound but, I recently got tired of Howie scaring the crap out of me when I least expected it! So, I have switched to a new one that I am going to attach to this post (MP3 format). It is the ring tone of the CTU phones on 24! The sound originally came as one ring. I added two more. So, now when I get mail, it "rings" three times with the CTU phone ring!
If anyone wants this sound file in WAV format, let me know. I have both the 3 ring version and the original single ring version.
