    Default Dhimmi-busting

This thread is for the purpose of exposing the dhimmi. And if you are new to this idea you may find this laughable at first. Perhaps after reading several posts you'll realize that something is very very wrong here:

    Let's begin:

    Muslim prayers at cross

    By JOHN COLES

BEWILDERED pupils prayed to Allah in front of an 8ft CRUCIFIX, it emerged yesterday.

One boy at the Catholic school was so worried he had betrayed his faith he went straight to confession.

The students, aged 13 and 14, were given prayer mats and compasses to find East — the direction of Mecca.

They were then told how to kneel and bow their heads like faithful Muslims at St Richard Gwyn RC High School, in Barry, South Wales.

The mum of one of the kids said last night: “We chose to send our children to a Catholic school. We don’t expect them to come home saying they have been praying to Allah. I’m sure Muslims would be quite offended if it was the other way round.”

But head of RE Nicola Price said “empathy” lessons in different faiths had long been on the curriculum.

She added: “They are not asked to actually pray.”
You see, we are all the same, we just do things a little differently. Now let's go over to the mosque and see if they are just as willing to teach their youngsters "empathy" lessons in our faith, too.

Most of us aren't willing to do that crap. Our faith should be allowed to remain our faith. Too many wish to make us feel shame for who we are, where we came from, how we live, and just about every other conceivable BS issue they can think up. It's called Political Correctness and honestly the left can shove it up their hiney. They want us to celebrate our differences via forced conformity? What a load of horse manure. If people want to be Jewish, Islamic, Christian, or Buddist then so be it just don't force "empathy" of it down my throat for any reason.

I will make it a point to write and post a paper about this during my summer vacation of one month. In the meantime, here are some bits and pieces of what I intend to pull together, the long and short of it is that this goes beyond political correctness. Dhimmitude is an appeasing of Muslims out of fear of violent reaction in the West, self-imposed, decidedly the best course of action, throwing rights to our freedoms out and playing right into the ideology of Islam.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper indicated in a 1993 interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he wants to see the United States become a Muslim country.

"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future," Hooper told the Star Tribune. "But I'm not going to do anything violent to promote that. I'm going to do it through education."

Hooper noted in the interview that Muslims aren't allowed to take over the U.S. and other governments. "What we fight for here and in the remainder of the world is to practice our beliefs," he said.

Calls to CAIR and Hooper's office by WorldNetDaily were not returned.
Emerson notes that Abdulrahman Alamoudi, then-executive director of the American Muslim Council, said at a conference by the Islamic Association for Palestine in December 1996 that the United States will become a Muslim country, even if it takes 100 years.
    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=26545
    From CAIR co-founder:

Omar M. Ahmad, chairman of the board of the Council on American-Islamic relations, spoke before a packed crowd at the Flamingo Palace banquet hall on Peralta Boulevard, urging Muslims not to shirk their duty of sharing the Islamic faith with those who are "on the wrong side."

Muslim institutions, schools and economic power should be strengthened in America, he said. Those who stay in America should be "open to society without melting (into it)," keeping mosques open so anyone can come and learn about Islam, he said.

"If you choose to live here (in America) ... you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam," he said. Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant, he said. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth, he said.

    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=32341
Dhimmitude is the status that Islamic law, the Sharia, mandates for non-Muslims, primarily Jews and Christians. Dhimmis, "protected people," are free to practice their religion in a Sharia regime, but are made subject to a number of humiliating regulations designed to enforce the Qur'an's command that they "feel themselves subdued" (Sura 9:29).

This denial of equality of rights and dignity remains part of the Sharia, and, as such, are part of the law that global jihadists are laboring to impose everywhere, ultimately on the entire human race.

The dhimmi attitude of chastened subservience has entered into Western academic study of Islam, and from there into journalism, textbooks, and the popular discourse. One must not point out the depredations of jihad and dhimmitude; to do so would offend the multiculturalist ethos that prevails everywhere today.
    http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/
Although it is true that countries comprising "the West" are not Muslim and are not under Sharia law, that is the Muslim agenda, and that is where we're headed. Thus, it is my desire to expose situations in which we accept for ourselves the "dhimmi status" concealed in the prevailing attitude of political correctness.

The distinction in political correctness and dhimmi status is equality.

The first is the ridiculous idea that we are able to get rid of religious aspects in government, education, and so forth, and be totally secular as a whole. We are all placed on an equal level w/o God in that way.

The second is the desire to conquer the world for Islam, all other beliefs are tolerated, but equality is never the intent nor the outcome, unless one converts to Islam. The freedoms of speech and the press and the right to protest are fought against when it comes in conflict with the beliefs of Islam. And we willingly submit rather than offend believers in Islam allowing "moderate" Muslim leaders to offer lip service on peaceful harmony of religious beliefs and forgiving and discounting violence and irreciprocal behaviour toward non-Muslims.

Let me show you what I mean. March for free expression tomorrow in London, where to be to support our freedoms and exercise our rights. Right? Well, here is what they said on the blog:
Not the end, but the beginning

As we have noted elsewhere, the purpose of this campaign is not to hold a rally, shout for a couple of hours, then go home and get back to grumbling in front of the TV news.

We want to bring about genuine change, so we no longer face the grotesque spectacle of European MPs needing police protection, murdered film makers, novellists living in hiding and artists moving between safe houses while existing law is not applied and new laws are brought in to suppress the ancient freedoms of us all without actually protecting anyone in practice.

And we want to stand beside writers, artists, human and women's rights activists in other continents in their struggles for the sorts of basic freedoms our ancestors won, only for our generation to start whittling them away.

In our statement of principle, we said:
We assert and uphold the right of freedom of expression and call on our elected representatives to do the same. We abhor the fact that people throughout the world live under mortal threat simply for expressing ideas and we call on our elected representatives to protect them from attack and not to give comfort to the forces of intolerance that besiege them.
We meant it then and we mean it now.
    Really?
Here's the BIG change in the program:
Muslims are Welcome: No Danish cartoons, please

At the very start of this campaign, we said this is a march in support of freedom of expression, not a march against Muslims. We meant it. But there has been a lot of mistrust about this from Muslims, and some disappointment from those who would like to use it to attack all followers of Islam. The latter is of no consequence to us; the former is a great concern.

Comments here have been illuminating. Particularly striking has been the use of the "First they came for..." motif both by people who feel under attack by Muslims, and by Muslims who feel under attack in Britain and Europe. Let's ignore whether these sentiments have reflected reality. The fact is they do represent the way people feel. People feel under attack from each other, there is vast mistrust and misunderstanding.

At the outset, we said that displays of the Danish cartoons would be welcome on Saturday. No, let me rephrase that: At the outset, I, Peter Risdon, said the cartoons would be welcome. I am going to take full responsibility for this. I now think that was a mistake.

In practice, Muslims who wholeheartedly endorse our statement of principle, as quoted below by Peter Tatchell in his superb essay, who abhor the threats made against Danish cartoonists and believe people should have the right to publish things they themselves find offensive or abhorrent would be UNABLE to come to our rally on Saturday, because to be surrounded by these cartoons, now, in the present context when the BNP are using them as a rallying point, would be intolerable.

So I now appeal to people not to bring the cartoons on T-shirts or placards.

Instead, because the principle of free expression must be upheld in this context as well, we will arrange a forum in which they can be seen and debated without this being, in context, intimidating to anyone.

The principle of freedom of expression is used, by some, as a trojan horse, as a proxy for racism and islamophobia. Not by me. Not by us. Not by this campaign.

Thanks for the definition. I appreciate it.

Now, I can say unequivocally that I won't go along with someone trying to make the United States into a "muslim country". It hasn't been since it's foundation and while I do not consider myself "Christian" in the sense that many of you do, I DO consider this country to be Christian and I will fight and die if necessary for this country to defend against anyone that tries to change it to some other "ideal form".

The Communists, Socialists, the Muslims/Islamics and anyone else that wants to lay claim to the United States of America will go through me and a few million other people before that happens.

    I swear to God.

Well, Rick, they get through easily enough:

    School allows Muslim to pray
Reverses policy after confrontation by CAIR

An Ohio high school that barred a Muslim from praying at school reached a compromise, allowing the Islamic ritual to be performed in certain classrooms at lunch as well as before and after class hours.
The 17-year-old junior, whose name was not released, was assisted by the Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR.

School officials initially told the student the mandatory prayers could not be performed at school. The performance of the salat, or prayer, five times a day is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Muslims are required to face Mecca when they pray in the morning, at noon, mid-afternoon, after sunset and just before sleeping.

CAIR said that after discussions with the school, officials reached a compromise, allowing the student to pray in the classrooms of teachers who are willing to let them be used for prayer before and after school and at lunch.

The school had insisted the Muslim student must pray in the lunch room with other students present.

"We were concerned that praying in front of so many people would be uncomfortable for the student," said CAIR-Ohio Legal Director Jennifer Nimer. "Fortunately, we were able to reach a compromise with the school that met everyone's needs."

In November, a religious liberty group challenged a Dallas-area high school for prohibiting students from leaving the classroom to pray, saying the policy failed to accommodate Muslims.

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty sent a letter Nov. 8 to the principal of L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, demanding he immediately "cease and desist from [the] school's illegal decision to punish Muslim students" for exercising their right to pray.

The principal has said in an e-mail, "No students are to be allowed to leave [the] classroom at any time to go pray."

One month later, after the group's intervention, the district said there was some "confusion" regarding its policy and declared Muslim students, like others, have the right to pray on campus.

The district's new policy said students can pray in designated places at the school during lunch and at other specific times.

In 1963, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled mandatory prayers or Bible readings at public schools are unconstitutional, but subsequent cases have affirmed the Constitution allows for many forms of personal religious expression on campus.

Students can pray individually or in student-led groups on the school bus and on school grounds, except for during class sessions.

    Borders Appeases Radical Islam
Following up on last night’s post about Borders Books and Waldenbooks refusing to carry a magazine with a cover showing the dreaded cartoons of blasphemy, an LGF reader who works at Borders emailed the following story:
I work for Borders Books and after reading the article you posted on Wed. 3/29 about our company not carrying the magazine due to it showing the dreaded cartoons of blasphemy, I thought I should write with another tidbit of information I learned about my company the other week.

I was shifting rows of books in our religion section and it happened to be that all of our Koran books (a section on its own) ended up on the bottom shelf. The next day I was informed by my General Manager that it is Borders policy as a whole (not my particular store) that due to complaints in the past from Muslim customers, we are not allowed to put our copies of the Koran on any shelf other than the top.
This has nothing to do with sensitivity; it’s all about pure, simple fear. If a Christian group complained to Borders about Bibles being placed on a bottom shelf, they would be laughed out of the room. But when Muslims do the same thing, Borders institutes a store-wide policy. The difference?

The implicit or explicit threats of violence that accompany the latter.
In yesterday’s statement about their craven refusal to support free speech, a Borders spokesperson admitted it:
“For us, the safety and security of our customers and employees is a top priority, and we believe that carrying this issue could challenge that priority,” Borders Group Inc. spokeswoman Beth Bingham said Wednesday.

I suggest that, as a whole, everyone contact Borders all over the country and make it a POINT to insist that Bibles be placed on the TOP shelves only from this day forward.

Make a big enough stink, they will listen or it will become an issue.

However, upon noticing that the Korans in the store were definitely all on the top shelf in their section, I decided to ask more about that issue, which the Manager on Duty was more than willing to speak about. In this particular store, the "Eastern Thought" section, in which the books on Islam are found, are stored on the smaller shelves in the middle of the section. The MOD of the store explained to me that they are stored in Borders stores, as per corporate policy, a certain height off of the ground which is apparently religiously mandated. On the smaller shelves, this means the top. On the larger shelves in certain stores, this can mean whatever this specified height off of the ground is. The copies of the Torah, she demonstrated, were also stored on the top shelf in that section. She explained that there was no religious mandate regarding the Bible, and that since the store stocks so many versions of the Bible they require entire large shelves, and cannot all be on the upper shelves.

Honestly, I had not really believed whole-heartedly in the idea that the Koran shelving was store policy, but I now have been assured that it is. I was told by both the MOD and other employees that it is corporate policy "to respect all religions and their believers" and to therefore never let the Korans be shelved low or ever touch the ground. The Torah is the only other religious text treated similarly. The belief that all religions and views are treated with the utmost respect by Borders as corporate policy, and always has been, was repeated to me several times.

I find this somewhat amusing, as obviously the respect for those of us who want to see Mohammad cartoons is being thrown out the window. I've also found it amusing in a company that proclaims this as policy the intense attention given to the works of Toni Morrison, who has made numerous racist statements regarding white people that I find offensive, yet her works are frequently featured on their own tables and displays at both Borders and Barnes & Noble.
This isn't amusing, it's disgusting. Probably better than insisting that the Bible be shelved topside, is to no longer shop at Borders. And to let them know that it is because of their bowing to Muslims. I would think that Muslims are not their largest share of consumers and that hitting them in the profits loss is the best lesson to get the point across.

Boycott of Borders Group Inc. is now in effect. You are with us, or you are against us. The cowardice at Borders is plainly evident.

Many brave American men and women have shed their blood and died to ensure Borders ability to engage in free capitalistic enterprise - and Borders doesn't even have the gonads or the decency to defend what has been freely given them.

Now wait just a minute! This is not a case of the school endorsing Muslim prayers, just allowing the student to pray. Do you want schools to tell religious people that we cannot pray during school? You want me to tell my daughter that she cannot say a quiet grace before lunch or pray for help on a math test? How could the school legally allow that if they didn't allow the Muslim to pray in his stupid prayer rug bowing way?

They should just outlaw Muslim prayers? What about Jewish prayer? Mormon? Where do we draw the line? Personally I draw the line at headscarf wearing. Those things make me sick.

LOL Horseman. Your daughter can pray just as I do before I eat my lunch in a public school in front of her food in the cafeteria. But if your daughter is a Muslim, she can leave the lunchroom so that she will be spared embarassment and get special treatment. The point is that they want to be accomodated and use words such as "illegal decision to punish Muslim students" because they want to leave the classroom to pray.

    Here's what happened, repeating...

The district's new policy said students can pray in designated places at the school during lunch and at other specific times.
...enter CAIR, or any other group to advocate for Muslim rights and there you have it...APPEASEMENT. Even to the point of the teachers escorting students to rooms to pray.

I am an assistant teacher in a public school. Students are to be about their studies when they are in the classroom.

I am paid to teach, not to escort students to prayer rooms, nor do I approve of any of MY students leaving their studies because at a certain time, they need to go pray. I pray quite a bit. I ask for no special accomodations. But I suppose if I were Muslim, I could put up a big stink about it and have a special time and place to leave my students to other employees while I have prayer time exactly at the time that my religion requires of me.

Now on novenas, as a Catholic Christian, that could be once on the hour every hour for 9 consecutive hours. Would that be alright with you???

There was an article about Muslim demands on Fitness USA in The Detroit Free Press. This was then taken up on a blog. And then one of the Muslim women protesting the gym comes on the site posting comments:
    http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archi....html#comments

    April 21, 2006

Islamic Imperialist Workout Comes to America: Your Gym is Now Allah's Gym

    Printer Friendly

    By Debbie Schlussel

**** UPDATE: AMMERAH SAIDI, MUSLIM WOMAN PROTESTING THE GYM, DEFENDS ISLAMIC TERRORISTS, WON'T DENOUNCE HOMICIDE BOMBINGS, SAYS, "IF IT [AMERICA] FALLS TO ISLAM, SO BE IT." (SEE COMMENTS.) ****
Americans must decide if we are going to willingly accept the imposition of others' religious rules, or if we will stand up for our own freedoms while we still have them.

That is the debate at the center of America's culture clash with Mid-Easterners who want to impose their Islamist mores on us--on our own shores. At least, it would be a debate, if we would not just immediately fold every time there is a challenge.

The latest example of the debate is Fitness USA gyms. The nationwide chain of gyms (headquartered in suburban Detroit) is the latest target of Islamic extremists who insist it impose separate workout days or a partition of the sexes.

But the name of the company is clearly "Fitness USA," not "Allah's Gym USA." A Detroit Free Press article, written by resident Islamist reporter Niraj Warikoo, does not tell the whole story, but it is useful as background (if you can read between the lines).
Here's some of what she stated:
    Debbie,
It really is me, the very Ammerah from the article.
Now, I believe we can never judge a victim's actions. And Palestinians are victims of Western Imperialism. This is a fact and every nation, when it begins to grow, wishes to spread its power. Deny this and you're denying fact. Israelis are sitting on land that is occupied by the Palestinians. Ask yourself Debbie, if you were sitting at home, an army comes in, demands you move out, sends you to the streets and gives up your home that you've built to someone who was given *western* support to usurp your land. Develop even a shred of empathy and you'll know that I can never judge a victim of abuse. I can say that it's unfortunate that events have escalated to such a degree of violence, but there are humanitarian issues that are being blatantly ignored by the world and by propagandists like yourself. Innocent are dying everywhere and some are now resorting to violence. You'll never understand why but the worlds' apathy will continue to fuel their hate. So before we judge others, let's judge how our own actions or inactions have allowed such atrocities.
    ...
America is a nation that will rise and fall like every other nation in history. If it falls to Islam, so be it. If it doesn't, so be it. But, just like Rome, it'll fall. Or do you not acknowledge the repetition of history?

And lastly, Fitness USA is not a private business. It is recognized by the MDCR and Michigan government as a place of public accommodation and it is susceptible to wills and wishes of its PAYING members, I being one. Now, Debbie, stop reading what you want and get the facts straight. This isn't an Islamic issue; it's an issue concerning several women, Muslim and non-Muslim who have united, against a business which promised one thing, took our money and then ran off with our funds. Any paying customer would do exactly what I'm doing. And to top it off, I'm being ballasted by groups of Christian women who also feel financially cheated by this PUBLIC business. And the MDCR agrees...so does the BBB....so does the Attorney General.
    ...
The contract I signed says that the rules and regulations may change at the sole discretion of the supercenter. I have said over and over again that we are not saying that the business is in breach of contract. We are simply saying that they are; 1) not taking into consideration the huge Muslim demographic in this community when making business decisions, and I am talking huge and 2)they are taking back a tradition of gender privacy which was a selling point of theirs for 50 years. This has affected thousands of their consumers, Muslim, non-Muslim, male and female. We are merely asking them to uphold a tradition and not ignore their loyal PAYING customers' wishes. There have been several responses to the local article of women of Christian background who also feel that they have been taken advantage of since they were verbally told that these gyms would remain gender specific. We even compromised and asked that they simply put up a divider between the co-ed and non-co-ed sections of the gyms. This would create a win-win situation. And as I've stated in my formal letter of complaint (which followed the company's protocol for filing complaints), I am looking to earn their respect by respecting the rules and protocols of this country and their company. Even if you took Islam out of this equation, this would still be a huge consumer concern for any member of a business.
    ...
And in regards to why I'm targeting Lincoln Park...it's because I went to that specific gym and so did hundreds of women from the Dearborn area because the gym is bigger and nicer than the facility in Dearborn. The pool alone in Dearborn is half the size of the one in Lincoln Park and the lines for machines are half as long.

In regards to Islam and it's imposing it's beliefs on others, Allah has stated in the Holy Quran: There is no compulsion in religion. If you find anything that contradicts this, you are taking it out of context...PERIOD.

    Islam = Peace

Ignorance only breeds hate. Come to me with an open-mind and in return you'll receive the same.
Now if all that isn't bad enough in establishing character and motives, here's what's ended up happening:
    http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/
A divider and frosted glass has been placed in the Lincoln Park gym in an effort to please customers after a petition was signed by 200 Muslim women.

I will admit that I didn't catch the leaving room part the first read through. Wouldn't be any big deal if they did it at lunch, but yes, leaving class to go to a separate room to pray would be quite disturbing to the class. Would certainly set a bad precedent. Not too far from this to letting Native American Church members leave class to take peyote.

Now it's our turn. Target is the "blogs"...

    http://littlegreenfootballs.com/webl...s_LGF#comments
    CAIR Attacks lgf
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (lgf: search), at least five of whose employees and board members have been arrested, convicted, deported, or otherwise linked to terrorism-related charges and activities, has sent out one of their infamous “Action Alerts” about ... the Lizardoid Nation: Incitement: Threats on Internet Hate Site.
Cherry-picking through LGF comments (a favorite pastime of smear artists, despite the very obvious disclaimer at the top of every comments page), they single out two from a thread about American teenager Daniel Wultz, who was murdered in Tel Aviv by a Palestinian suicide bomber. (CAIR members who click those links are in for a surprise, by the way.)
Joe Kaufman at FrontPage also noticed the Action Alert, and has written a piece exploring the possible reasons why CAIR would want to smear LGF instead of condemning the suicide attack that killed Daniel Wultz: CAIR Islamic Jihad.
Two Sundays ago, an e-mail was sent out by CAIR denouncing the website, Little Green Footballs (LGF), for what CAIR said were two threats aimed at Muslims found in the comments section of a blog entry on the site. One of the comments was no doubt a threat. It stated, “The next time someone in a truckstop or a Starbucks or a library or any public place says ANYTHING even resembling support for the Muslim ‘cause’ WILL be sent to either the hospital or worse. . .just waiting to bash someones face in. no more games.” To the website’s credit, the dangerous comment was removed. The other quote, which was a strongly worded statement against the religion of Islam and those the author referred to as “Muslim savages,” was allowed to stay and was later debated.

While CAIR proudly displayed the offending quotes and, at the same time, unjustly and irresponsibly labeled LGF an “internet hate site,” a vital piece of information was missing from the e-mail. The blog entry, from where the quotes came, was an announcement of the death of Daniel Wultz, who had passed soon after waking out of a nine-day coma. The entry was titled, ‘US Teen Murdered by Palestinians.’

Many of the blog comments offered prayers to the Wultz family. Others dealt with the terrorist groups’ reactions to Wultz’s injuries. In an interview with Aaron Klein from World Net Daily, Abu Ayman, a PIJ leader, said, “Our hero believed in Allah and died while fighting for Allah but your pig was killed in a restaurant in an area full of prostitution.” And Abu Nasser, a leader of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the other group responsible for the attack, stated, “This is a gift from Allah. We wish this young dog will go directly with no transit to hell.” With comments such as these and others made before them, posters on LGF were understandably upset.

CAIR strangely left all of that out. Why?
    Read the whole thing...
That was May. This is June:
    http://www.proteinwisdom.com/index.p...g/entry/20581/
    Why, it’s because they CAIR!
According to Charles Johnson, who has himself been contacted by federal agents, “[t]he Council on American-Islamic Relations has begun filing complaints with the FBI about comments“ on LGF and other sites. Which I suppose is their right— though I find the whole thing a bit curious. After all, when is the last time an LGF commenter was arrested for assaulting a Muslim, or, say, hijacking a jet airplane and flying it into a skyscraper?
If the FBI wants to try sniffing out hate speech, perhaps it should check out any number of mosques or Islamic centers funded by the Saudis. Because rumor has it Wahhabism isn’t exactly the most ecumenical platter on the Islam buffet…

Posted by Jeff Goldstein @ 08:23 PM
So far there are 890 comments on lgf about this just since yesterday. Comments by Charles include additional tidbits:
    subpoenas were mentioned.
Another reason the FBI contacted me is visible on this page at the Muslim hate site MPACUK:
    http://www.mpacuk.or...
    Search for "Nals Rawna".
This seems to be an international effort.
Comment 470 reflects how some of the members are responding:
    Charles,
    I support you 10000%.
If I notice any offensive messages, I'll try to alert you.
    stay strong!
and others like post 530 blast away at CAIR like this:
As a late night bonus to CAIR, I've decided to provide them some HATE speech
    I HATE Islamofascism
I HATE what CAIR stands for
I HATE the fact that our government tolerates terrorists at CAIR, and doesn't deport each and every representative and donor of their organization ( preferably to GITMO ) under terrorism laws.

    chew on that CAIR
The intimidation is getting rough. I doubt, though, that Charles will have any apology forthcoming. So what happens next? Will personal info need to be turned over on individuals? What about the sites being "hate sites"? Will there need to be an example made of somebody or some site in appeasement to Muslims? How long will we have freedom of speech in America?

Aha, an excellent piece I found in a link at Michelle Malkin's site. There's lots of explaination here on dhimmitude, so I won't need to write something this summer, afterall. http://www.nationalreview.com/commen...yeor091803.asp

    Eastern Christians Torn Asunder
    Challenges — new and old.
    By Bat Yeor

he dhimmi mentality cannot be easily defined and described. An endless variety of reactions has been provoked by the evolving historical situations in the civilization of dhimmitude, which spans three continents and close to fourteen centuries. Generally speaking, dhimmi populations can be described as oscillating between alienation and submission and, at the other extreme, a self-perception of spiritual freedom.

The basic aspects of the dhimmi mentality are related to characteristics of its status and environment, because dhimmitude operates exclusively within the sphere of jihad. Contrary to common belief, jihad is not limited to holy war conducted militarily; it encompasses all strategies, including peaceful means, aimed at the unification of all religions within Islamic dogma. Further, as a juridical-theological construction, jihad determines all aspects of relations between the Umma — the Islamic community — and non-Muslims. According to the classical interpretation, these are classified in one of three categories: enemies, temporarily reconciled, or subjected. Because neither jihad nor dhimmitude have been critically analyzed, we can say today that the Islamist mentality — currently predominant in many Muslim countries — establishes relations with non-Muslims in the traditional jihad categories of war, truce, and submission/dhimmitude.

In our times dhimmis are found among the residues of indigenous populations of countries that were Islamized during a millenium of Muslim conquests: Christians, Hindus, and a scattering of Jews and Zoroastrians. Christians would seem to be the most familiar group, closer to Westerners by proximity, culture, religion, and subject to the same status under Islam as the Jews, the other ahl al-Khitab, "people of the Book" — the Bible. But this impression is often deceiving as the reassuring appearance of similarity is misleading.

The behavior of Christian dhimmis varies according to the country, the social category, and their association with the ruling classes as, for example, their participation in the Iraqi or Syrian Baath parties or the PLO, a militarist organization engaged in the Arab jihad against Israel. Christian dhimmis appointed to important positions by Muslim rulers have often served as agents between the Arab world and strategic centers in the West: churches, governments, industries, universities, media, etc.

Because Christian dhimmi populations are on the whole highly skilled and better educated than the surrounding population, they often suffer from malicious jealousy coupled with the traditional anti-Christian prejudices of the Umma. The persistence of Christianity in Muslim environments testifies to qualities of endurance and adaptability. Yet survival in dhimmitude had its price: the dhimmi pathology.

Briefly summarized, Christian attitudes can be classified in three categories: active resistance, passive resistance, and collaboration. These three attitudes are manifest within one and the same population, but certain geographical or historical situations favor one or another.

    ACTIVE RESISTANCE

Recent examples of active resistance are noteworthy. The repression of the Christian rebellion against the establishment of sharia in the Sudan in 1983 caused more than two million dead and over four million displaced. Lebanese Christians fought against the Islamization of their country during the civil war that began in 1975. At the dawn of the 20th century, Armenian and Assyrian Christians were punished by genocide for their attempts at independence. In the present day, active Christian resistance against Islamization in Indonesia, Nigeria, and other African countries is manifest in the massacre of Christian civilians, the burning of villages, the flight of populations. Westerners, and especially Europeans, turn a deaf ear to the sufferings of Christians who actively resist Islamization, frequently blaming them for their own misfortunes.

    PASSIVE RESISTANCE

Examples of passive resistance can be found in Egypt, Pakistan, and Iran. Egyptian Christians denounce the violence of which they are victims and strive to protect their dignity, reduce legal and professional discrimination, and secure basic rights such as permission to build or renovate churches. Here again, the West prefers to ignore their dire situation or underplay it with episodic attention. Christians engaged in active or passive resistance exhaust their meager resources in vain efforts to alert their fellow Christians and enlist their help.

    COLLABORATIONIST CHRISTIANS

Collaborators are recruited among Christians who identify themselves as Arabs. This type of collaboration, which caused endless fratricidal battles over the centuries, has been denounced by dhimmis struggling for centuries against an Islamic domination that progressed with the help of Christians.

Christian collaborationism has taken different forms in the course of history, according to circumstances and political opportunity. It is expressed today in a two-pronged political and theological project. The political project is implemented in a trans-Mediterranean fusion, with the construction of an economic, cultural, political, geographical entity composed of the European Union and Arab and African countries. This policy of association and integration, active in all international forums, works to counterbalance American policy, under cover of a notion of "international legitimacy," albeit a legitimacy of sanguinary totalitarian Arab dictators.

Collaborationist Christian dhimmis function as the intellectual and economic mechanism of this project because they belong to both worlds. Their role is to invent the idyllic Islamic-Christian past that upholds the political construction of a future Eurabia and to dissimulate the anti-Christian foundations of Islamic doctrine and history.

Dhimmi collaboration on the theological level is oriented in two directions: toward Christianity and toward Islam. It finds its most radical expression in the "Palestinian Liberation Theology," meaning nothing less than the liberation of Christianity from its Jewish matrix. The spiritual center of this theology is the al-Liqa institute in Jerusalem, created in 1983 for the study of the Muslim and Christian heritage in the Holy Land. This strongly politicized institute, sponsored by international Christian organizations, specializes in disseminating anti-Israeli propaganda through its international religious and media channels.

Uniting Marcionist and Gnostic theological currents, this Palestinian theology strips away Jesus's Jewishness and turns him into a sui generis Arab-Palestinian Jesus, a twin of the Muslim Jesus (Isa). Christianity, thus liberated from its Jewish roots, can be transplanted in Arab-Islamism. This would place Palestine, and not Israel, at the origin of Christianity, making Israelis usurpers of the Islamic-Christian Palestinian homeland. This theory denies the historical continuity between modern Israel and its biblical ancestor, the locus of nascent Christianity.

The theology of Palestinism, integrating all the anti-Jewish themes of replacement theology, is reworked to fit the new Palestinian fashion and addressed to Christians all over the world, inviting them to gather together around an Arab-Palestinian Jesus, symbol of a Palestine crucified by Israel. The theme goes back to the 19th century. However, in those days when the idea of an Arab-Palestinian entity differentiated from the Arab world did not even exist, the unifying role of Palestine was assigned to Arab nationalism.

Palestinist theology shores up the Euro-Arab policy of Christian-Muslim and European-Arab fusion: the modern state of Israel — considered a temporary accident of history — is bypassed and Europe's Christian origins are anchored in an Islamic-Christian Palestine. Having fulfilled its historical role of uniting the two enemies — Christianity and Islam — opposed to its very existence, Israel can now disappear, sealing the fusion between Europe and the Arabs. The unifying role devolves on Islamic-Christian Palestine; the reconciliation of Islam and Christianity can finally be consummated on the ashes of Israel and its negation. This is why the European Union — and especially France — designates Israeli "injustice" and "occupation" as the unique sources of conflict between Europe and the Arab/Muslim world, and the cause of international, anti-Western Islamist terrorism.
The contribution of dhimmi Christian collaborationism to Islam is even more important. It satisfies three objectives: 1) its propaganda shores up the mythology of past and present peaceful Islamic-Christian coexistence and confirms the perfection of Islam, jihad, and sharia; 2) it promotes the demographic expansion and proselytism of Islamic propaganda in the West; 3) in the theological sphere it eliminates the Jewish Jesus and implants Christianity in the Muslim Jesus, in other words it facilitates the theological Islamization of all Christendom.

According to Islamic dogma, Islam encompasses Judaism and Christianity, both of which are falsified posterior expressions of the first and fundamental religion, which is Islam. All the characters of the Bible, from Adam to Abraham, Moses to David, the Hebrew prophets, Mary, Jesus, and the apostles, were Muslim prophets who preached Islam, and it is only in their quality as Muslims that they are recognized and respected. They belong to the Koran, not to the Bible. From this viewpoint the bond between Judaism and Christianity is a falsification, because the filiation of Christianity is Islamic, not Judaic. Christianity descends from Islam, the first religion of all humanity (din al-fitra). Christianity is a falsified expression of Islam, and belongs to Islam. According to a hadith, when Isa, the Muslim Jesus, returns, he will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizya (poll tax for infidels), and money will flow like water. Exegetes interpret the destruction of symbols attached to Christianity — the cross and the pig — as the extinction of that religion; the suppression of the jizya means that Islam has become the only religion; and the abundance of wealth refers to the booty taken from infidels. In other words the return of the Muslim Jesus could lead to the destruction of Christianity.

The global jihad has made the problems of dhimmitude a worldwide reality. Europe's creeping dhimmitude, expressed in a refusal even to mention in its proposed constitution the "Judeo-Christian" values of its civilization, is one of the major elements of the current European-American divide.

Bat Yeor is the author of The Decline of Eastern Christianity under Islam: From Jihad to Dhimmitude. Her latest book, Islam and Dhimmitude: Where Civilizations Collide, has just been reprinted. A version of this article was first published in French and is translated by Nidra Poller in collaboration with the author.

I need to say something here... Aplomb asked me what I was going to do a show (or article?) or something on this subject recently, and I've been doing a bit of research.

Technically, this subject, dhimmitude is in the wrong place on this site. You have started it under religion and it is not a specific RELIGIOUS aspect of Muslims. This is a full and complete issue that concerns the relationship of Muslim and non-Muslim peoples who've been conquered by Muslims, and includes the ideas of religious, political, social and economics.

This is NOT specifically a religious issue.

To me from what I've been reading, this is more of a situation where non-Muslims who've been taken over in the past have tried to "get along" with the victors in the war. I don't forsee this as being a problem with the United States."

We won't be "taken over" in that sense. If we sit on our asses and let them get power through politics, perhap that will be a take-over of a different color, but NOT through war. If this comes down to us fighting "them"... the United States will obliterate whatever is left of the Islam countries over there. Iran is pressing the wrong buttons. The President there is being obstinate over nukes.

We know he is trying to create nuclear weapons. The WORLD knows it. The United Nations knows it.

    He is stalling.

    Until he gets them.

When Iran has them, all bets are off. Israel will be attacked. And there won't be any question we were right.

The Status of Non-Muslim Minorities Under Islamic Rule

Dhimmitude: the Islamic system of governing populations conquered by jihad wars, encompassing all of the demographic, ethnic, and religious aspects of the political system. The word "dhimmitude" as a historical concept, was coined by Bat Ye'or in 1983 to describe the legal and social conditions of Jews and Christians subjected to Islamic rule. The word "dhimmitude" comes from dhimmi, an Arabic word meaning "protected".

Dhimmi was the name applied by the Arab-Muslim conquerors to indigenous non-Muslim populations who surrendered by a treaty (dhimma) to Muslim domination. Islamic conquests expanded over vast territories in Africa, Europe and Asia, for over a millennium (638-1683). The Muslim empire incorporated numerous varied peoples which had their own religion, culture, language and civilization. For centuries, these indigenous, pre-Islamic peoples constituted the great majority of the population of the Islamic lands. Although these populations differed, they were ruled by the same type of laws, based on the shari'a.

This similarity, which includes also regional variations, has created a uniform civilization developed throughout the centuries by all non-Muslim indigenous people, who were vanquished by a jihad-war and governed by shari'a law. It is this civilization which is called dhimmitude. It is characterized by the different strategies developed by each dhimmi group to survive as non-Muslim entity in their Islamized countries. Dhimmitude is not exclusively concerned with Muslim history and civilization. Rather it investigates the history of those non-Muslim peoples conquered and colonized by jihad.

Dhimmitude encompasses the relationship of Muslims and non-Muslims at the theological, social, political and economical levels. It also incorporates the relationship between the numerous ethno-religious dhimmi groups and the type of mentality that they have developed out of their particular historical condition which lasted for centuries, even in some Muslim countries, till today.

Dhimmitude is an entire integrated system, based on Islamic theology. It cannot be judged from the circumstantial position of any one community, at a given time and in a given place. Dhimmitude must be appraised according to its laws and customs, irrespectively of circumstances and political contingencies.
