Putin Celebrates Birth Of KGB, USSR’s Hated Spy Service

    2 CommentsMon, Dec 23 2013 00:00:00 EA19_ISSUES
    By J. MICHAEL WALLER, Investor’s Business Daily/Monday December 23, 2013
The bloody birth of the most murderous secret police in history occurred 96 years ago and is being celebrated across Vladimir Putin’s Russia. Always feared, the KGB is now revered.
“In the past, the services worked for the Communist Party and the party ran the state,” says Michelle Van Cleave, former head of U.S. counterintelligence. “Now, the intelligence services are the state. That’s a very different government structure than we’re accustomed to.”
Nicknamed Cheka, the All-Russian Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution and Sabotage existed to smash any and all opposition to Vladimir Lenin’s creation of a utopian socialist society. “We represent in ourselves organized terror — this must be said very clearly,” proclaimed its first leader, Feliks Dzerzhinsky.
The Cheka became the world’s prototype for industrial-scale mass persecution, torture and human slaughter. For Dzerzhinsky, Lenin and the other Bolsheviks, “extermination” of all opponents was an explicit and planned policy.
As the Cheka evolved under different names — with its officers always calling themselves Chekists — others would study it and copy it.

Building Hitler’s dictatorship in 1930s Germany, the Nazis were fascinated by the Chekists’ ruthlessness and efficiency. Historian Edward Crankshaw wrote that in the early years of Soviet collaboration with Nazi Germany, SS Gruppenführer Heinrich Müller visited the Soviet Union to study how the Chekists operated, and borrowed that system to design the Gestapo.

Instead of mourning the anniversary of what arguably was the greatest tragedy of Russia’s 1,000-year history, President Putin is celebrating it. To KGB veterans like Putin, the Cheka represents the essence of what is Russia and serves as the ultimate instrument of power. Even today, the official seals of the Russian security services feature the Cheka’s sword-and-shield emblem.

“The Cheka tradition has thoroughly infiltrated the upper levels of the Russian elite,” says British historian Mark Galeotti, an expert on Russian security and organized crime and a professor at New York University.

Putin spent part of his KGB career in the Soviet-occupied German Democratic Republic (GDR), working closely with the Communist secret police known as Stasi.
After Reuters unearthed documents in 2001 from the Stasi office in Dresden, where Putin worked, the Moscow Times reported that the Stasi awarded Putin a commendation for his contribution to “fraternal cooperation between the GDR’s Chekists and the Soviet security organs against the common enemy.”

Years later, when the U.S. uncovered 11 Russian sleeper agents and sent them back to Moscow, “Putin greeted them and led them in singing the KGB anthem, the same song from the old Chekist days,” a former senior intelligence officer tells the American Media Institute.

“Putin has honed what was the KGB (now known as the foreign SVR and domestic FSB) into an operational government,” according to John J. Dziak, a retired senior U.S. intelligence officer and author of “Chekisty,” a definitive history of the Russian intelligence services.
“Russia’s great strength is because it breaks the rules and gets away with it,” says Galeotti. “Internationally, Putin has an extraordinarily nuanced grasp of just how far he can push.”
Western countries don’t push back, Galeotti says, because they know the Russian elites will take reprisals. “Under Putin, the West realizes that there will be a very strong backlash, and would rather not risk it.”
That attitude only invites more pushing, say American intelligence officials. “Our president rushing to make nice just reinforces Putin’s illusion and fantasy that Russia is a great power and it matters as much as it used to,” says former CIA director Michael V. Hayden.
Russia continues an intensive, aggressive espionage campaign around the world, and particularly against the United States. Van Cleave, National Counterintelligence Executive (NCIX) in the George W. Bush administration, is blunt:
“Today, there are more Russian intelligence personnel operating in the United States than there were at the height of the Cold War.”
By law, the Office of the NCIX must submit annual reports to Congress about foreign intelligence threats. However, that office has not issued such a report for the public since 2011. While the office has sent classified reports to Congress, their secrecy has all but erased the issue from public awareness.
“I don’t think the American public realizes the extent of Russian espionage,” laments Robert W. Stephan, a Russia expert who served nearly 20 years in the CIA.

Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, has encouraged the intelligence community to alert the public about threats from Russia.
In testimony before Feinstein’s committee last March, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper reported that Russian espionage is as urgent a threat as terrorism and international organized crime. “These foreign intelligence methods employ traditional methods of espionage and, with growing frequency, innovative technical means,” he said.
As if aggressive espionage against free societies wasn’t enough, the Chekists have another asset: thieves of highly classified U.S. intelligence information such as four-month National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, who fled to Moscow earlier this year with four laptop computers crammed with highly classified material.
He has been an intelligence and propaganda boon for Putin and the former KGB. “They have happily taken him into their embrace, and there’s no reason to think they have not gotten everything he had,” Van Cleave says.
In addition to the incalculable loss of intelligence information that Snowden is believed to have handed the Chekists, the American defector provided Putin with a propaganda bonanza.
Snowden’s leaked information that the NSA was eavesdropping on foreign leaders — including the private cellphone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel — has driven wedges between the U.S. and longtime loyal allies. “They’ll use every opportunity they can find to try to separate the U.S. from our allies in Western Europe and elsewhere,” Van Cleave observes. “If they can undermine confidence or spread suspicion about the United States, they will do that.”
As they were when they looted Russia’s wealth in the aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution, the Chekists today are an organized criminal syndicate unto themselves, experts say. “In Russia,” Clapper testified, “the nexus among organized crime, some state officials, the intelligence services, and business blurs the distinction between state policy and private gain.”

Putin’s political rise illustrates the transformation of Russia. He went from being a simple KGB officer earning roughly $100 a month to become one of the wealthiest men in Russia — without ever holding a private-sector job.
Upon leaving East Germany for his native St. Petersburg, Putin was one of several KGB officers who surrounded the city’s reformist mayor, Anatoly Sobchak. Victor Yasmann, then of the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Research Institute, reported at the time that Putin handled hard currency operations for the city — a job that put him in charge of huge quantities of fungible cash with little oversight.
During the Soviet collapse, the KGB made sure its officers were integrated into the emerging economy as tightly as possible. Soviet law required all joint ventures with foreign companies to have a KGB officer as a corporate vice president. Soon, Chekists would be vice presidents of factories, service companies, construction enterprises, hotels and banks that had Western investors.

The success of economic reformers in St. Petersburg attracted the attention of Russia’s first post-Soviet president, Boris Yeltsin. While Yeltsin was instrumental in bringing down the Communist Party, he lacked a political base of his own, and threw in his lot with the KGB. He placed Chekists in key posts, naming Putin head of the Presidential Property Administration, in charge of a vast network of buildings, land and other assets.
In a short time, Putin had taken control of the country’s internal security apparatus, the Federal Security Service — which had been the domestic control machinery of the KGB.
Yeltsin, by now ailing, named Putin prime minister and constitutional successor. Yeltsin resigned suddenly on Dec. 31, 1999, making Putin president. Alternating between the posts of president and prime minister to observe the term limits set under the new Russian constitution, Putin has remained in power ever since.
“The criminal organizations that last along generations know how to institutionalize coercion, and use violence as a last resort,” says Galeotti. “You want to use deception, co-option, and you want to use threat to deter. Those are precisely what the modern-day Cheka is very able to do.”

U.S. reporter says ouster from Russia harks back to Cold War

By Sergei L. Loiko and Henry Chu

    January 14, 2014, 10:45 a.m.

MOSCOW — The Russian Foreign Ministry acknowledged Tuesday that it had barred a prominent American journalist from the country for five years after expelling him over a visa violation, an action that the ousted reporter and some Kremlin critics said was a chilling throwback to the Cold War.

“This situation with me is a warning to everybody about the cost of being too penetrating,” David Satter said in an interview from London. “You can report on it up to a point.”

The Foreign Ministry said it had posted a statement about Satter on its official website Tuesday in response to “biased reports in some Western media” about his expulsion. Satter was accredited in Russia by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which was among those publishing reports Monday about his expulsion.

Report: AK-47 inventor Kalashnikov was tormented over gun's toll Report: AK-47 inventor Kalashnikov was tormented over gun's toll
Khodorkovsky: For now, steering clear of Russia and politics Khodorkovsky: For now, steering clear of Russia and politics
Still defiant, members of Russia's Pussy Riot band go free Still defiant, members of Russia's Pussy Riot band go free

Satter said he was specifically told that he had been barred on orders of the state security services. “That’s something I haven’t seen in all my years of writing and covering Russia,” he said.

Satter, 66, has covered Russia on and off since 1976 for a variety of news outlets and is the author of three books about the country. Among them is “Darkness at Dawn: The Rise of the Russian Criminal State” (2003), which argued that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the Soviet KGB, was behind apartment building bombings in Moscow in 1999 that were blamed on separatists from Chechnya and led to the second Chechen war and propelled Vladimir Putin into the presidency.

According to the Foreign Ministry statement, Satter entered Russia on Nov. 21 without a valid visa and was ordered to report to the Federal Migration Service to obtain one. He visited the agency five days later, the ministry said.

As a result, the statement said, from “Nov. 22 through Nov. 26 this U.S. citizen was present on the territory of Russia illegally,” constituting “a flagrant violation of the Russian migration legislation.”

The statement did not explain, however, how Satter could have entered the country in the first place without a valid visa, or why he would have needed to visit the migration agency, which does not issue visas.

On Nov. 29, Satter was fined and expelled from Russia, effective Dec. 4, and ordered to be barred from obtaining a Russian visa for five years, the statement said.

Satter gave a somewhat different account, saying he was summoned to a Russian consulate in Kiev, Ukraine, in December, during a reporting trip there. On his Twitter account Tuesday, he quoted a Russian official there as telling him: "The competent organs have determined that your presence, on the territory of the Russian Federation, is undesirable."

“Competent organs” is a common euphemism for Russian security agencies.

In his interview Tuesday, Satter said the expulsion harked back to the Cold War (although some Western journalists have been barred or driven from Russia since the collapse of the Soviet Union). “People say they’re amazed this didn’t happen [to me] a long time ago, but for a long time they were trying to create the impression that what Western journalists write doesn’t bother them,” he said. “But in fact the pretense became a little too difficult. They couldn’t keep it up forever.”

Satter noted in an interview with the London-based Guardian on Monday that Russia is currently focused on improving its image in the run-up to next month’s Sochi Olympics. “They've released well-known political prisoners, they've released Mikhail Khodorkovsky, they've released the members of Pussy Riot punk rock band, they've released the crew to the Greenpeace vessel Arctic Sunrise. It doesn't make sense that they would ruin their image to a certain degree by taking such an action against free speech and against openness to the outside world.”

But, he said in the interview with the Los Angeles Times: “Olympics or no Olympics, obviously they wanted me out of there.”

One political analyst suggested that Satter's expulsion was a message to other Western reporters to tone down criticism of the Kremlin in advance of the Olympics.

“Satter's case is not a mistake or an embarrassing slip by the Kremlin,” said Lilia Shevtsova, a senior researcher with the Moscow Carnegie Center. “It is a real scare tactics message: Don't you dare spoil our image. Needless to say how counterproductive it really is, as no one can spoil the Kremlin's image worse than the Kremlin itself.”

But one pro-Kremlin political expert said Satter might have fallen victim to some political intrigue which had little or nothing to do with him personally.

“Of course David [Satter] remains a hostage of his own distorted notion that Russia has been going from bad to worse under Putin's guidance, but his bad stories of Russia have nothing to do with his expulsion,” Sergei Markov, a Kremlin advisor and vice president of the Russia Plekhanov University of Economics, said in an interview. “He must have been chosen as a famous personality to be temporarily sacrificed in some big tit-for-tat political game between Moscow and Washington, the details of which for now remain hidden from the public view.”

Russia Plans Cruise Missile Tests, Bomber Patrols for 2014

    19:54 22/01/2014

The Russian Air Force is preparing to conduct a series of tests of new cruise missiles, as well as carrying out strategic bomber patrols including stops in other countries, the commander of its long-range fleet said Wednesday.

“In 2014 we are planning practice launches of cruise missiles, including new models,” Gen. Lt. Anatoly Zhikharev told reporters, without specifying the missiles to be fired. Russian planes launched 15 cruise missiles last year.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said last summer that Russia was planning a 30-fold increase of its cruise missile arsenal by 2020.

The buildup is planned to include the new Raduga Kh-101 cruise missile that can carry an 880-pound (400 kilogram) payload up to 6,000 miles (9,600 kilometers).

Zhikharev also said that Russia’s long-range air fleet would conduct long-distance patrols this year, including stops at airbases in other countries that will be named in the future.

In October last year a pair of Tu-160 Blackjack strategic bombers visited Venezuela and Nicaragua while conducting patrols over the Caribbean, in the first such visit since 2008.

Columbia protested the flights and scrambled jet fighters to escort the bombers, claiming that they had violated its airspace.

The Tu-160 is a supersonic strategic bomber with variable-sweep wings, designed to engage targets around the globe with nuclear and conventional weapons.

Enemies, Both Foreign And Domestic, Prepare To Invade America

January 24, 2014 Government Corruption, Martial Law, US News

The ignorant and the uniformed want to argue that any belief that Russia poses a dire threat to the freedom and safety of American citizens is nonsense. Many of these people who refuse to recognize the gravity of the times that we live in are indeed the products of a dumbed down education system, or, they are so emotionally timid that they hide behind the mask of cognitive dissonance as they continue to deny the truth that is confronting their lying eyes.

Where have all the American men gone? That is an irrelevant question as those who still have a backbone will be forced to stand against all threats, both foreign and domestic while the rest of the so-called men hide under the bed. However, the coming events will clearly demonstrate that what you don’t know can and will bring harm to you and your family.
FEMA and the Russians vs. the American People

The safety and security of America has been compromised by the very organizations which are supposed to protect American lives. For example, FEMA, our domestic enemy, and the Russian government, our foreign enemy, have signed an agreement which permits Russian soldiers to train on American soil for the first time in American history.
Excuse my surprise, but didn’t the Russians just threaten to nuke us last fall if we invaded Syria and Iran? Shouldn’t we consider the Russian military and their government to be our enemy under these conditions? Aren’t the Russians violating the petrodollar agreement that they are a party to by purchasing oil for gold from Iran? Isn’t it true that this fact endangers the value of our dollar? The Russian government is not our friend!

In a treasonous act that would even make Benedict Arnold turn green with envy, FEMA and Russia are engaged in extra-constitutional “agreements”(that means illegal agreements), which were inked in the spring of 2012 in Washington, D.C., at the fourth annual meeting of the illegally created “U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission Working Group on Emergency Situations.” This extra-governmental organization, formed under the Obama administration, is one of almost two dozen similar “working groups” bringing together top U.S. and Russian officials.

The agreement calls for the initial influx of 15,000 soldiers and does not address the specificity of the types of soldiers to be housed in the United States. Before you write to me and chastise the notion that the Russians are here to enforce martial law, please explain the intent behind this bilateral agreement. Explain to me why we need the Russians when we have the National Guard? And why is the command structure of the National Guard being centralized from state to state? And why have generals been fired over resisting the consolidation of power governing the National Guard? The truth is that the National Guard has been co-opted by FEMA, the DHS and the Russians (see Sherrie Wilcox below). One more question for the sheep, don’t you think that Obama, who has now fired over 250 command level military officers, has done so because he cannot trust the military? Does this have anything to do with his reliance on the Russians to enforce martial law? If you are a sheep, cover your eyes and put your hands over your ears, because it is about to get a lot worse!
These documents go on to state that FEMA and the Russian military are cooperating on everything from the drug war and agriculture to terror, science, enforcing the “rule of law” (could that be code for martial law?), health, environment, energy, nuclear issues, education, culture, media, business, arms control, and more, according to the U.S. State Department.
The agreement calls for Russian troops to engage in policing activities at American public events on American soil. And we are seeing the same thing at the Army base at Fort Carson, Colorado where Russian soldiers are training at the local base and are engaged in local policing activities. This is an euphemism for martial law training as the Russians are being trained to interact with the American public in positions of authority.

The Senate has not ratified any of the international deals, as required by the Constitution of the United States. And as such, this is an illegal agreement. However, this is not just an illegal agreement, IT CONSTITUTES TREASON AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
Eyewitness Accounts Corroborate the FEMA Bilateral Acknowledgment of Russian Troops On Our Soil

Who do you trust? Do you trust Wolf Blitzer who has not mentioned a word about the bilateral agreement between FEMA and the Russian military which allows for a Russian military presence on our soil? Or, would you trust the eyewitness accounts of American citizens who are disturbed by their observations of Russian troops on American soil? And what about those government documents which provides for the presence on American soil? Is the Obama administration just kidding? Or, is it easier just to keep hiding under the bed and hope some real men will deal with the situation?
    Citizen Journalists vs. CNN

There is a reason why I refer to Ted Turner’s CNN as the Communist News Network. Turner is a renowned globalist who advocates for a 95% population reduction on this planet. I will take the word of a group of American citizen journalists anytime over this traitor to his own country. Turner is the modern day equivalent of Prescott Bush (father of George H. W. Bush) who was caught trading with the enemy in WWII.

Citizen journalists, who are motivated by nothing but a desire to know the truth, are taking note of the fact of the growing Russian troop presence on our soil. It cannot be accurately said that the Russians are coming, they are here. The Russians are not just training with FEMA at Fort Carson, they are observed to be in Alaska, California, Tennessee Kentucky, etc..

Nowhere, have I received more information than I have from Alaska regarding the presence of Russian soldiers, in uniform, on American soil.

Officially, we now know that the former F-22 over-flights between Russia and Alaska have been suspended thus, leaving the coastline more vulnerable to attack. According to naval sources, submarine patrols have been greatly reduced and many locals have been reporting seeing fully surfaced Russian subs off of the coast of Alaska in multiple locations.

Local Alaskans tell me that they are afraid of the Russians. The Russians keep to themselves and don’t interact with the locals. Since I first wrote about this, I have been contacted by people in Fairbanks, Juneau and the outlying northern areas with similar reports. Most of the people who have contacted me are too cowardly to allow me to use their names, but people like Sherrie Wilcox are not afraid and neither is Dr. Susan Helman of Gatlinburg, TN.

Dr. Helman was on my talk show a few months ago and reported on young Russians (20′s and 30′s) who live in Russian enclaves in her town and do not interact with the locals, yet they speak perfect English and unlike most immigrant groups, there are no English speaking stragglers. In other words, these young Russians are plants and are being pre-positioned for assignment when the time is right. Things are so bad in Helman’s town, that she sees unmarked helicopters landing on the grass adjacent to her home which borders a golf course. Additionally, in the more than three dozen emails I have received from the Gatlinburg area, I have learned that many of the roads in nearby national forests and many entryways into the Smoky Mountains have been closed. This suggests that the Gatlinburg area is going to be used as a staging area when martial law is rolled out.

I have also been contacted by several residents, including former law enforcement personnel, in the Victorville, CA. area in which they have observed entire Russian military units training in the high desert complete with heavy equipment including tanks. There are eyewitness accounts which have seen the Russians training under blue-helmeted UN officers.

Additionally, Dr. Jim Garrow, a former deep-cover CIA agent, has corroborated the planned use of Russian soldiers to enforce martial law, while appearing on my talk show on December 22, 2013. The interview can be accessed in my radio archives section on my website. My military sources have also confirmed the Garrow assertions as well.
Then there is Sherrie Wilcox of Knoxville,TN.Sherrie has seen and photographed DHS armored vehicles back in March with Russian soldiers manning the DHS vehicles in eastern Tennessee and Western Kentucky. The most disturbing aspect of this is that the Russians are training with the Department of Homeland Security which has recently acquired 2.2 billion rounds of ammunition as well 2700 armored personnel carriers.
    Conclusion

A nation threatens to nuke the American people over events in the Middle East. Yet, the Obama administration allows this same nation to have unbridled access to our most secure domestic drills, Grid EX II, and the RIMPAC war games, and we don’t blink an eye? We have official government documents sanctioning the presence of over 15,000 Russian (tip of the iceberg) soldiers on American soil and we are not concerned?

In the next part in this series, I will review how I was attacked by the Russian media propaganda machine within a few short days after first airing the intention of DHS to use the Russians to enforce martial law. Further, in the next part, I will be revealing how President Obama is complicit in overt acts of treason against the American people in events which involve the Russian government and military.

This attempted public theft of private property was conducted for the purpose of securing cheap land in which the globalists intended on putting in an international highway through their area known as the Canamex Corridor. Dave’s community appointed him the spokesperson and eventually his community won their fight against the bankers and their front man, Senator McCain. This event launched Dave’s career as a broadcaster and an investigative journalist. Dave’s website presently enjoys over a half a million visitors every month.

Government begins to shut down internet and television in Ukraine

    January 24, 2014 288

The government in Ukraine is shutting down the internet and television in addition to demanding that citizens stay indoors

    By John Vibes

UKRAINE (INTELLIHUB) — The government in Ukraine has declared a state of emergency amid growing protests demanding the resignation of the president.
As we have been reporting throughout the week, riot police have already killed numerous protesters in the streets, while kidnapping others from hospitals and torturing them in the woods.

Now the government is taking even more extreme action in an attempt to maintain power. It was reported by local news outlets that the internet and television is being shut down in major areas.

    As one sources reported:

“Kiev has started to shut down internet and television. As Espresso TV informs, residents of Kiev centre and left bank regions informed them about this. Residents of The Obolon region declare that the access to certain internet resources have been restricted, namely, they can’t get access to the web pages that release objective information about the ongoing developments in Kiev.”

In addition to shutting down communication, the government has ordered that all citizens stay indoors, and if they are found on the streets they are subject to arrest, torture or murder.

These measures are desperate attempts to maintain the current power structure, but judging from history, when a government goes to these extremes, it usually backfires and provokes more widespread unrest.

Confirmed: Protesters in Ukraine Kidnapped From Hospitals And Executed

    January 24, 2014 188

It has been confirmed that protesters are being kidnapped from hospitals and taken into the forest where they are stripped and executed

    By John Vibes

UKRAINE (INTELLIHUB) — Yesterday we reported that activists in Ukraine were disappearing from hospitals and that it was possible that there was some connection to people that were found killed and tortured in the forest outside of the city.

Today this connection has been confirmed, with even mainstream media sources reporting that the government is kidnapping activists from hospitals and taking them into the woods where they are stripped, tortured and killed in many cases.

The incident that we reported on yesterday was the death of Yuri Verbitsky, an activist who was found killed and left in the forest.

Now a journalist named Igor Lutsenko has come forward saying that he managed to escape from government agents, and was one of the people who were tortured and taken to the forest.

He had been taken from a hospital in Kiev, beaten, and was eventually left in a forest by his abductors after an ordeal lasting almost a day, AFP reported.
Ukrainian news website Dzerkalo Tyzhnia said that two unidentified bodies had been found in the forest outside Kiev where Lutsenko had been taken after his abduction.

    Winter Olympics is coming....

State Department To American Olympic Athletes: ‘Be Ashamed, Afraid To Wear Your Uniforms’

Remember Obama’s promise to restore America’s “prestige” that demagogue Obama claimed had been lost under President Bush??? I sure do.

Now, five years into Obama’s presidency, America’s restored “prestige” means that even our greatest athletes at their greatest athletic event have to be so fearful and so ashamed of their flag that they dare not display it lest the villagers treat them like the Frankenstein monster and kill them with pitchforks and torches.

Time to put those clothes that in any way, shape or form advertise that you are an American away, boys and girls. Being an American is literally a scarlet letter now:
The State Department is telling American athletes competing in the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics to avoid wearing team gear outside the games’ venues amid growing concerns over terrorist threats in the Russian resort town, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The memo, which details steps athletes can take to ensure their safety during the games, cautions them to avoid wearing team colors too prominently outside of the 1,500-mile so-called “Ring of Steel” security perimeter established by Russian security forces.

“The U.S. Department of State has advised that wearing conspicuous Team USA clothing in non-accredited areas may put your personal safety at greater risk,” said the memo, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Designer Ralph Lauren on Thursday unveiled the official uniforms that American athletes will wear to the Opening ceremony. The uniforms feature a knit patchwork cardigan emblazoned with big stars, an American flag, and the Olympic rings.

“A dynamic mix of patriotic references in a classic color palette of red, white and navy defines the Ralph Lauren 2014 Team USA Opening ceremony uniform, which is proudly Made in America,” the company said in a statement Thursday.

Greg Bretz, a member of the men’s halfpipe team, told the Wall Street Journal that U.S. Olympic officials “have told us not to wear our USA gear outside of the venues,” but added, “I have so much faith in the United States and our safety that I’m not too worried about it.”

Concerns about safety in Sochi have prompted some Olympians to tell their loved ones to stay home, however. One of them is Canadian goaltender Mike Smith, who said he doesn’t want to expose his wife and kids to any unnecessary risk.

“They’re not gonna go. It’s not worth it,” Smith told FOX Sports Arizona’s Todd Walsh. “For myself, it’s about thinking if [my wife is] OK when I’m not with her. It’s unfortunate, but it’s just the way it is.”

    [...]
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
And I’m not going to be watching any of it. Because Obama made it all about the celebration of homosexual sodomy rather than about international competition.

I’m surprised the “Team America uniforms” didn’t depict a male convict butt-raping his cellmate. Because that’s really just where we are now.
It ought to be a joke by now that “Obama got bin Laden.” I mean, NO OTHER PRESIDENT IN THE UNIVERSE WOULD HAVE DARED TO GO AFTER BIN LADEN, right??? It took Osama to kill Obama. Or maybe it’s the other way around. But now, here we are: Obama triumphed that Al Qaeda was “decimated” and had to make up a story about some stupid video while Al Qaeda was busy murdering our Ambassador and our American heroes in Benghazi. And now the black flag of Al Qaeda is going up all over the world.
Including the Iraqi city where 1,300 Americans died to set free until Obama came into power and gave it back to the terrorists. And we’re afraid to even wear our “Team USA” uniforms in public lest our Islamic masters take offense.

Ukraine: You Better Pay Attention Because That’s How It’s Eventually Going to Play Out in North America.

There is basically a media blackout on the counter-revolution in Ukraine, but y’all better pay close, close attention, because A.) decent human beings are being slaughtered in the streets for standing up to an illegitimate government and this ALWAYS merits attention as a function of simple charity and B.) I think the events in Ukraine are a foreshadowing or prototype of what will eventually play out in North America. The two situations have many similarities.

Please note that I used the term “counter-revolution” with regards to Ukraine. Remember, “revolution” refers to any movement that turns AWAY from God. Without doubt or question, the tyrannical Ukrainian oligarchy executed a cold revolution in which it turned away from God and toward Moscow, Putin and their own personal enrichment. The “revolution” is a fait accompli. What the people of Ukraine have been and are now doing is COUNTER-REVOLUTION. They are sick and tired of being used and abused by a cadre of oligarchs who are toadies of Putin. They want to turn back toward justice, honesty in government and the rule of law. Again, Putin is an evil, evil, evil man. You people who are still falling for his garbage need to wise up. He is playing you for a fool. Just because he goes into a church and crosses himself and makes token gestures against sodomites doesn’t make him good. It makes him politically savvy and nothing more. If Obama learns to cross himself (assuming that the action wouldn’t cause him to burst into flames or melt), are you going to fall all over him too? Guys, Putin and Obama are cut from the same cloth. It is not impossible that Obama has explicit ties to Moscow, and may have even been in Moscow for a time during the missing two years in the early 80′s when he claims to have been at Columbia in NYC, but was almost certainly nowhere near that sulfuric hive of iniquity.

With Putin’s approval, the Kiev oligarchs are now murdering people in the street, and are HAPPILY ADMITTING IT. Check out this quote from one of them who spoke at a memorial service for one of the first killed. And remember, this was said AT THE MEMORIAL SERVICE:

A local legislator from the Luhansk region, who is a member of the ruling Party of Regions said, at a memorial service for those killed in Kyiv, “it is ‘correct’ that they were killed. In fact, more severe measures should be taken against the demonstrators.”
Okay. When the oligarchs stop pretending and happily admit that they are murdering people and that they intend and desire to murder more people, you quit talking, suit up and boot up, and fight until you are either gloriously dead or gloriously victorious. Remember the Lord of the Rings scene I posted last week of King Theoden at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields giving his speech before the charge? Do you remember the battle cry of the Rohirim? ”DEATH!” Were you taken aback by that? It isn’t that the Rohirim were suicidal, because that would be a grave sin. The battle cry “DEATH!” is simply a declaration that they did not fear death and were ready to lay down their lives in service to truth, justice and goodness – and many of them did. And they understood that to die in that way was, in fact, glorious. In any action involving a massive charge, there WILL be casualties. Americans, it seems to me, only want to partake in a “charge” if they don’t have to A.) get up from their sofas, and B.) can be guaranteed that there will be zero risk of personal harm – be it physical, financial or even mere harm to their reputation or social standing. If those are your criteria, that’s fine, but understand you have ZERO chance of victory, and frankly, deserve to live under a tyranny for being utterly self-absorbed, cowardly and effeminate at that point. Sow the wind – even through passivity, and you will still be made to reap the whirlwind.

Now, let me post a quote from a piece published today about Ukraine titled “Bloodlands”, and I will put in red brackets substitutions in the U.S. context and tell me that the two situations aren’t eerily similar:
…It is far more a criminal syndicate than a classic totalitarian regime. The tactics Yanukovych {the Obama regime} has employed as president — forging alliances with oligarchs (who have funded the president’s political party and also made him vastly wealthy personally); hiring gangs of brutes to cow potential opponents; assassinating opponents who didn’t get the message from the thugs or who refused to kowtow; aggregating power in the hands of a single party held together by greed, the lust for power, and the fear of retribution; the thoroughgoing corruption of the justice system and the courts; the eventual strangulation of parliament {Congress} — were all previewed in the late 1990s and the early years of the new century when Yanukovych was governor of the Donetsk oblast in eastern Ukraine {an Illinois state representative and then U.S. Senator}. There, Yanukovych {Obama} honed his capacity to acquire, and then hold on to, a form of power that is cemented together by personal loyalties, financial cupidity, and fear rather than by any common ideology. Call it clan politics; call it Mafia politics; call it whatever you like, only don’t call it “democratic.” Yanukovych {the Obama regime} may have come to power through the formal mechanisms of democracy (although the legitimacy of recent elections in Ukraine {the former United States} is certainly open to doubt). But as EuroMaidan leaders {screeching American harpies} such as former world heavyweight champion Vitaliy Klychko {Ann Barnhardt} have long insisted, Yanukovych {the Obama regime} has destroyed constitutional governance in Ukraine {the former United States}, and Ukraine {the now-overthrown United States} can no longer be considered a democracy.
Sadly, the author of this piece is George Weigel, who is a dyed-in-the-wool American neo-con, and as a big-time fanboi of Cardinal Timothy Dolan, I suspect, would scarcely admit to the similarities outlined above, and if he did would be in total denial as to the root causes, much less the solution. So many Americans today can see things that are happening on the other side of the planet, but simply cannot bring themselves to acknowledge the same evils within the context of their own country. This isn’t merely a blindSPOT, it is a de facto blindFOLD. Indifferent, cowardly, and willfully blind. Forgive me for despairing of a solution that does not involve legions of angels with flaming swords.
The flag of the Ukrainian Counter-revolution: the Ukrainian flag with a black bar. Pray for Ukraine and its people!

“Protesters” In Ukraine Now Being Checked For Links To Radical Groups
Radical groups means that there are OUTSIDE forces operating in this violent revolt in Kiev. Same as Syria, who also has outside Jihadists that fight against their government.
Pussy Rioter with her Communist fist – fully supports the radicals and violent ‘protesters’ in Kiev:

Radical groups means that there are outside forces operating in this violent revolt in Kiev. Same as Syria, who also has outside Jihadists that fight against their government.

Many people here in the states have decided to support the radicals & violent protesters in Kiev, believing they are fighting an ‘illegit government.’ Believing that the situation in Ukraine is the same as here (with conservatives) which it isn’t. These same type conservative Americans supported the Syrian rebels, the Muslim bro’hood, the Libyan rebels & thought those protesters were trying to oust bad dictators, bad Assad, etc.. Only to find out, AFTER the FUBAR that they were wrong in their insane thinking.. What a catastrophe the east has become, now. Forward back to Kiev: Here we go again, only its Ukraine. Americans (even ‘conservative’) Americans support the “Pussy Rioters”, a radical group of women who are pro-fag marriage, pro-abortion, everything sick and liberal. The “Pussy Rioters” are linked with these radicals in the streets of Kiev. They were involved this whole last summer, worked to agitate Ukrainian youth.

It didn’t even bother these conservative type people here in America that these same “Pussy Rioters” went into churches – naked – to ‘protest’. Why did they do this? To make a statement that “Putin is a dictator.” Uh, hello, Americans? Why worry if Putin is a dictator at all when we have one right here? So many people are stuck in circa 1980 with Putin. It is 2014. America has the tyrant, now. A tyrannical Pres with a totalitarian administration which has brought destruction in the middle east, emboldened Jihadists and now inflaming violent radicals in Kiev, Ukraine.

Stop worrying about Putin. It’s not that I ‘like’ Putin, but what he does over there is none of our business. Ditto Ukraine. The only thing we have to worry about with Putin is if we meddle too much in the affairs with his allies. He may go postal on America with his friend, China. They could nuke us if we don’t leave countries alone.

This is not your America, anymore. When are you going top SEE this? We are NOT exceptional at all anymore. It is what it is. I don’t like it, but it is what it is.
    13:18 GMT: (the last update)
Almost a 1,000 people, involved in violent riots at Grushevskogo Street, are being checked for links to radical groups, Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has said. Protesters, who seized the Trade Unions Building and Kiev’s mayoral office, have “a fair quantity” of guns, it said. The rest: here
Is it some type of a coincidence that one of the Pussy Rioters is visiting the states? Hell, why not? We love Jihadists here. Why not just bring in a radical Commie.. We feed and pay Hassan Nidal 100K a year.. don’t we??? Pussy Riot To Make First U.S. Appearance
This video of a ‘protest’ below is from over 7 weeks ago. These ‘protesters’ have been violent from their beginning:

By the way, I don't think the author of that piece could be more off-base if they tried. The Ukranian government is undoubtedly pro-Russia and the protestors are, for the most part pro-West. We should indeed be supporting the protestors.

Part of that pro-West crowd are the feminists but only because they know that under a totalitarian government, their views would be squashed. Not because the protestors are conservatives while the government is liberal. It is more of a statism versus freedom clash. Unfortunately the ability to be liberal is part of the freedom thing. The goal is to keep the liberals in a distinct minority to help remind us what not to do.

Also, in that part of the world, women are notoriously treated very poorly. So, the feminist movement isn't without a little merit there as opposed to here where they are about as useful as a third nipple.

    Ah.

I started following the MJ some months ago on my blog. She's rather... righteously indignant about a lot of things, and accurate. But she's got this thing for Putin - thinks he is a better leader than most of the past US Presidents.

I couldn't disagree more with her on Putin and Russia.

Heard the same rumor; the person certainly makes the rounds of the internet with their idiosyncratic worship of V. Putin, views him as a reincarnation of Cyrus the Great, etc....

One of the reasons I was impelled to say something to salvage the reputation of Holy Orthodoxy and Russia. Real Orthodoxy is about love and freedom, not tyranny and Statist coercion, which i've tried to show on this forum since Putin seems obligated to seem and appear a Right-Believer and not a Theomachist.

Russia has never been truly about domination, conquest and empire, only the secular modernist elites who are alienated from their own culture.
