    Default Microsoft works

Unfortunately Windows 7 Ultimate does not seem to contain Microsoft works. Is it possible to copy Works from Windows 7 home Edition and transfer it to Ultimate. I have a sneaking suspcion this is not possible. Damn Bill Gates and my clumsy ass for not seeing the cable wrapped around my foot going too the laptop!

I don't think there is an easy way to unless you have an install file. I'm betting values have to be written to the registry to get it to work properly.

Would Open Office fit your needs?

Thanks Ryan. I used Open Office for a while but I couldn;t adapt it to work. I had completely forgotten the name of the program. It may be a viable alternative.

I have a feeling Works won't work with 7, Luke.

We've been finding a LOT of shit don't work with Windows 7 including hardware which is no longer "compatible" (scanners, and other crap you plug into USB ports).

So, I'm thinking unless there is a 64 bit version of Works, it ain't gonna work.

IF it works it will have to be run under compatibility mode or something.

A little while back I had a problem with USB and windows 7. It was not Win 7 though. It was the mobo and driverset. Once I bought a different mobo, all has worked smoothly.

Using Win7x64 on my desktop and Win7x32 on my laptop now.

Only one program has not worked under compatibility mode on my desktop. It was a game that never worked anyway, so no biggie.

As to Works, depends on the version of works. Version 8 of Works will simply be ok.

Um, Version 9 of Works that will work on all flavors of Win 7 is only 39.99 USD.
