Severe Weather Outbreak - 3/2/2012

Looks like my area is right in the middle of the bulls-eye for a very strong severe weather outbreak on Friday afternoon/evening.

Doesn't sound like it is going to be a very fun day and if it is as bad as they are saying, I'm going to be busy at work.

NWS calling today a "Particularly Dangerous Situation". That is verbiage they use only in the most dangerous situations.

So what is TSTM, SLGT MDT?

I even went to accuweather to figure out what the acronyms mean but got busy at work.

TSTM is thunderstorm.

SLGT is slight.

MDT is "moderate risk of t-storms"

I'm getting reports out of Huntsville. All our folks are safe, was a Tornado Warning up this morning and now they are under a Watch.

Scratch that, now angling south and looking at it coming right over me.

I'm not sure of your exact location on the map but it looks like most of Southern Ohio is in the bulls eye.

Tornado went about a mile or 2 south of me.

Didn't see it but I've got some video I'll be putting up later of what it was like at my house.

Had strong wind and hail about quarter sized. This was one very fast mover!

Tornado hit the village just south of me where my brother's in-laws live. His wife's parents and sister live in the village.

Word is the house my brother and wife had been planning on moving into before a change of plans was destroyed. Roof of his wife's sister's house is gone. Front porch of the parent's house is gone.

I may be going down to help relocate them. Will try and get pics/video if I do.
