Default Woo Hoo! The Beer Gods Finally Smile On Me!

After lots of waiting and lots of hunting I finally got my hands on these:

They hadn't even stocked them on the sales floor yet. Store employee in the beer section said I was the 2nd customer to buy some.

I was planning on buying just two but then it dawned on me that I had seen previous years' empty ones up on eBay for $20+. These mini-kegs with beer were $21. Soooo... I buy 2 more than I need, since I'm going to drink the Oberon anyway, and then turn around and sell 2 on eBay resulting in free beer!!!

Why don't you go to the local homebrew store, get a recipe, some equipment and make it yourself? hahaha

You are a true connoisseur, Ryan. How big are those cans (kegs)? It's hard to tell from the picture.

That is actually on my "To Do" list. I've looked into it and there are a couple recipes out there for homebrewed Oberon.

They are about 10" tall and 6" across holding 5L (or 1.32 gallons) of pure golden, unfiltered goodness.

    "Unfiltered goodness"

I'm sure it's good. Never tried it though. Maybe I will stop on the way home except I have a dinner party thing to go to and then tomorrow it's "Boat Day"... (I'm getting the boat ready to sell) and then Sunday I have the RenFest....

    Busy.

You have no idea what you are missing. It is the summertime beer. Ask Phil, he's a convert.

Just had my first draw off of the minikeg.

If it is even possible, it tastes better than the bottled Oberon.

Very smooth and while bottled Oberon has very little bitterness, the minikeg has practically none.
