Rochester New York police are characterizing the brazen attack of an elderly woman as harassment rather than what it appears to be — another example of the hotly-debated “knockout game.”

The attacker, a young black male who operated a Facebook account under the name “True Goon Tocool Sneekey”, narrated his plan for the camera.

“True Goon”, who according to his now-deleted Facebook account attends John Marshall High School in Rochester, grabbed a snowball from the ground saying, “I’m about to smack the old lady with the snowball when she come out the store.”

“True Goon” proceeded to dance and shimmy for the camera as his friends laughed.

“This is the skinny bop,” he said as the woman emerged from the store.

But the teen didn’t use the snowball. Instead, “True Goon” slung a left-handed haymaker into the woman’s face. After the vicious hit, the woman, looking bewildered, grabbed the side of her head. She remained standing though, meaning that “True Goon” did not win that day’s Knockout Game.

“Smack cam!” screamed the videographer five times after the punch was landed.

….Despite the obvious assault, Rochester police spokeswoman Sgt. Elena Correia said that the incident “is more likely an example of a harassment than an assault,” reported The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

Correia told The Democrat & Chronicle that the attack did not seem to resemble the “Knockout Game” but that she agreed that the video was disturbing.

The Daily Caller News Foundation followed up with Correia. “At this time there are no updates,” she said.

“Based on the video itself and on New York penal law, it constitutes harassment.”

TheDCNF asked Correia if investigators saw that “True Goon” had hit the woman with his fist.

“Yes, we saw that,” she said, but clarified that an assault charge would require the victim to suffer “substantial pain”.

Don’t you love the police making excuses for this scum?

That’s why these knockout game attacks continue.

Throw the book at a few of these kids rather than excusing their terrible behavior and suddenly, you’ll find the “knockout game” isn’t fun for these pieces of human garbage any more.

Texan charged with hate crime for 'knockout game' hit denied bail

The white Texas man facing federal hate crime charges for allegedly slugging a 79-year-old black man in a “knockout game” assault was denied bail Friday for an attack prosecutors say was racially motivated.

During a hearing in U.S. District Court in Houston, U.S. Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy said suspect Conrad Barrett, 27, is a flight risk and danger to the community, according to Barrett’s lawyer, George Parnham.

Parnham said he expected his client would not be granted bail. “We were prepared for that decision,” he said.

Barrett filmed the attack on his cellphone, prosecutors said. And in other videos on his phone, he used a derogatory word describing black people and suggested he “found the perfect African American suspect” to go after, according to the federal criminal complaint.

The unidentified victim was hospitalized for more than four days and required surgery to repair his broken jaw, authorities said.

“Hate crimes tear at the fabric of entire communities,” said Acting Assistant U.S. Attorney General Jocelyn Samuels in a statement announcing Barrett’s charges Thursday.

So-called knockout attacks — in which thrill-seekers sucker-punch their victims for amusement — are notnew but have recently gained widespread publicity.

The Justice Department’s involvement in the case against Barrett highlights a move by federal prosecutors to reduce racially motivated crimes. Barrett is accused of violating the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

“The Civil Rights Division will work with our federal and state law enforcement partners to ensure that hate crimes are identified and prosecuted, and that justice is done,” Samuels said Thursday.

The Justice Department said in a statement Thursday when it announced the charges that it wants to ensure “hate crimes are identified and prosecuted, and that justice is done.”

Some observers have raised the question of racial hypocrisy by federal prosecutors who have ignored other knockout cases where the victims were white and the accused attackers were black.

At least eight recent incidents in Brooklyn, N.Y., have involved Jewish victims who say their attackers were black, the NYPD said.

After one early-morning assault last month, a 28-year-old Trinidadian man was charged with two felony hate crimes for allegedly striking a 24-year-old Jewish man wearing a yarmulke in the Midwood neighborhood. The Justice Department, however, didn’t get involved in the case.

But in the charges against Barrett, the feds may simply be confident they can win because of the evidence, said Houston criminal defense attorney Sean Buckley.

“This is something so egregious — from the view that you have an elderly black man seriously injured and another guy actually on tape talking about what he wanted to do, that for federal prosecutors why wouldn’t they get involved?” Buckley said. “This is an opportunity to send a message of deterrence against hate attacks.”

Barrett randomly found his victim on Nov. 24 in his hometown of Katy, Texas, prosecutors said. After the attack, he allegedly bragged about the incident by showing a cellphone video to a couple he met at a restaurant later that day.

The video, taken from the point-of-view of the person holding the phone, shows the perpetrator getting out of a vehicle and approaching an older black man, prosecutors said.

“How’s it going, man?” Barrett is heard saying as the camera pans to the victim, according to the criminal complaint.

Then, there’s a loud smack and the victim drops to the ground. Barrett laughs and says “knockout” before driving off, the complaint says.

Barrett later showed the video to the couple, not knowing the male witness was an off-duty arson investigator with the city of Katy. The couple flagged down a police officer near the scene, who interviewed Barrett and then obtained a search warrant for his phone.

In one of the videos, Barrett allegedly described his motivation: “The plan is to see if I were to hit a black person, would this be nationally televised?”

The video evidence was eventually traced to the victim, the complaint said.

Parnham said Barrett has bipolar disorder and is taking lithium while in the detention facility.

“When you start peeling back the layers of the onion and look at the mindset behind the action you soon realize there's a mental issue," Parnham told The Associated Press Thursday. He added that the family “feels horribly sympathetic” for the victim.

Barrett could see up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. Parnham said Barett's next court date had not yet been set.

The wave in knockout game attacks, including in Chicago, St. Louis and New York, has led community groups and politicians to condemn the random violence. An incident in Syracuse, N.Y., in May even turned deadly, after 51-year-old Michael Daniels was found fatally punched and stomped upon. Two teens have been charged in the case.

An Illinois lawmaker is looking to deter similar attacks by increasing the penalty in his state. The Knockout Assault Prevention Act, introduced last week by Republican State Rep. Dwight Kay, would make the crime a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison. In addition, a suspect at least 15 years old could be tried as an adult.

The notoriety of such assaults has also led to knockout game hoaxes. A 23-year-old St. Louis woman and her boyfriend were charged with falsifying a police report this month after she claimed a group of young men punched her in the eye.

But authorities say she made up the story to cover for her boyfriend, who had hit her in the face.

The Holder Effect

In spite of the best efforts of the liberal media to first suppress news reports about the Knockout Game phenomenon, and then, when that failed, to poo-poo the idea that any such thing as this violent and obviously race-based crime even existed, the truth will out. Thanks to the internet, the liberal elites who censor the output of the major news organizations can no longer cover up events that fail to depict contemporary life as they wish it to be. But even if you don't hear about it or read about it from one of their publications or networks, your chances of learning about these crimes are much better today than just a few years ago when the so-called mainstream media could effectively bury what was unfavorable to their vision of fit to print.

This inability to totally control the dissemination of news now causes the media establishment to put even more than their normal amount of spin on their output when they are forced to cover an issue or risk looking foolish for the outright denial of an ongoing crime wave that everyone knows is growing. For instance, when they are forced to cover this offense, they still will not use the actual name of Polar Bear Hunting because of its all too obvious racial implications. Unable to ignore it any longer, they play it down -- especially the racial aspects of it, because that may put our black president, his black attorney general, and all those black and liberal white lawyers in Holder's civil rights division in a bad light because they aren't investigating what appears to be serial hate crime.

Which of course is true; our president is silent on what is a matter of growing public concern primarily among white Americans, who constitute, to date, all but one of the victims of this criminal game. That he remains silent when it is a particularly supportive and primarily Democrat demographic, white Jewish Americans, who appear to be the most at-risk group, offers even greater testament that the Obama administration and the Holder justice department are deliberately disinclined to prosecute hate crimes where blacks are the perpetrators and whites are the victims. Jewish Democrats should take heed of this policy where race trumps ideological loyalty.

Liberals who do acknowledge the existence of the Knockout Game and who its perpetrators are, trot out all the old chestnuts about racist white America being responsible for troubled black youth. I'd like to see Obama, Holder, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and other so-called black leaders and all their white liberal defenders watch this truly disgusting video and then tell us that we, white America, are responsible for such pathologies of black youth as the Knockout Game.

The latest example of a Knockout Game attack is going to make this head-in-the-sand policy a bit difficult to maintain but they are trying their best. The Daily Caller's lead article from that day has the goods on a young black thug who assaulted an elderly white woman in Rochester, NY recently -- and I do mean the goods, with Facebook videos, photos, and audio boasting that should enable the Rochester Police Department to put him away for a stretch on charges of harassment. Harassment? Yep -- according to the RPD spokesperson, Sgt. Elena Correia, the crime committed by the appropriately self-styled True Goon Tocool Sneekey, appears to be harassment, not felony assault, even though True Goon allegedly struck the woman full in the face with his fist at the end of a roundhouse left. That's some fairly serious harassment by anyone's definition. And this is not RPD's first attempt to play down this despicable crime. I'd dearly love to see that portion of the New York criminal code that Sgt. Correia claims to define such an act of felonious assault as harassment, wouldn't you? Makes you wonder that if some white gun-loving male punched his wife in the face with his fist if that would be handled by the politically correct Rochester Police Department as a case of domestic harassment, hmmm? Any bets?

It is becoming increasingly disturbing that it is not just the Obama administration and the brown-nosed media that have attempted to sweep this new criminal activity under the rug but these local police departments. It's happening all over the country, and not just in the major urban centers. I call this racialization of the law and criminality the Holder Effect, for it was the relatively new attorney general who famously announced that his justice department would side with his people.

Of course, the Holder justice department has not ignored the Knockout Game entirely. A recent such attack in Houston has been charged as a federal hate crime, and the perp is going to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Anyone care to guess the races of the perp and the victim? Mind you, I'm not defending the despicable behavior of this racist and probably mentally unbalanced jerk -- just making the observation that out of the hundreds of these crimes that have occurred, the first Knockout Game perp to be charged by the justice department with a hate crime, and done so with great swiftness, is white.

On December 20th, 2008, Tyrone man Patrick Crilly was punched by a Sydney pub bouncer, causing him to fall and hit his head on concrete.

It was an unprovoked attack, and Mr Crilly (22) was subsequently awarded $350,000 (€230,000) in compensation for losing the hearing in his right ear and suffering balance problems and bleeding on the brain. But at least he survived.

On October 25th, 2009, Dublin man Gearóid Walsh (23) was punched outside a kebab shop in the Sydney suburb of Coogee. He died four days later, having never regained consciousness.

On December 17th last, Thomas Keaney (23) from Co Galway was allegedly punched outside a takeaway food shop in Perth, Western Australia. He died on December 30th. A local man has been charged with grievous bodily harm over the incident.


‘Coward’s punch’
Unexpected one-punch assaults to the head, commonly called “king hits”, have killed more than 90 people in Australia since 2000, with alcohol being a factor in three-quarters of these deaths. After the Thomas Keaney case and several other recent, high-profile examples, Australians finally seem to be saying enough is enough.

The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper is leading the demand for change.

Its January 2nd editorial said: “Too many young men feel they can take drugs and get drunk and menace people with no fear of serious consequences. All of this has to change. The time is now.”

The term “king hit” derives from early 17th-century England, when King James I punched a judge, knocking him to the ground, for daring to suggest he was subject to the law.

However the father of one of the 90 victims wants the term to no longer be used.

Paul Stanley, whose son Matthew (15) was killed by a one- punch assault in 2006, said: “A king is supposed to be someone of high honour and I think this is a coward’s punch. The boys with Matthew reckoned he probably didn’t see the punch coming.”

Mr Stanley believes such violence is getting worse. “When I was growing up, most times you would be like two dancing roosters, throwing punches that didn’t connect. Now people are punching first and asking questions later.”

Prof Gordian Fulde, emergency director at Sydney’s city centre St Vincent’s Hospital, has for many years documented the effects of alcohol-related violence. He says the early hours of 2014 were brutal.

“Every hour we had at least two patients who had been knocked unconscious. There was a particularly nasty attack on a lady who was punched to the ground and then kicked.

“It’s not just violence, it’s brutality,” he says. “Unfortunately there are still people who have these brain snaps and hit people, causing the most devastating injuries.”


A recent crime survey taken by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that six in every 100 Australian males aged between 15 and 24 were physically assaulted in the past 12 months. Most of these assaults were committed by people under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Prof Fulde says the problem is worsening. “The amount of injuries from scuffles has markedly decreased. Instead, we are seeing an increase of people who have been really whacked and when they are down, they get kicked and stomped on.”

There is a stereotypical image of the aggressor in lethal one-punch assaults as a blunt, thuggish, tattooed menace, with steroid-enhanced muscles.

While this may be the reality in a small minority of cases, the greater truth is that Australia’s liberal drinking culture – including many 24-hour pub licences – and a resulting loss of impulse control, bears the greater share of the blame.

Detroit-area man who shot woman on porch arraigned on murder charge

(CNN) -- A June trial has been set for a Detroit-area man who said he accidentally shot and killed a 19-year-old woman he thought was breaking into his home.


Theodore Paul Wafer, 54, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday to second-degree murder charges in connection with the November 2, 2013 shooting of Renisha McBride. Authorities said McBride was intoxicated and possibly disoriented following a car crash before Wafer shot her on his porch in the community of Dearborn Heights.


The trial was set for June 2.


Last month, District Court Judge David Turfe said there was enough probable cause for Wafer to stand trial in connection with the shooting.

"Defendant came to the door with the shotgun," Turfe said, according to CNN Michigan affiliate WXYZ. "His first thought was to bring the gun, not call for help, or not answer the door. It suggests to this court, the defendant made a bad choice."


A friend of McBride told the court that she and the victim had been playing a drinking game with vodka and smoking marijuana the night of the shooting.


Wafer, whose lawyer said he shot the victim in self-defense, was charged with second-degree murder last month after days of pressure from McBride's relatives seeking an arrest.


He also was charged with manslaughter and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.


Wafer told investigators he thought McBride was breaking into his home, and that the shotgun accidentally discharged when he investigated, police said.


McBride was unarmed and there was no evidence of a break-in, so Wafer -- who authorities say shot McBride from behind a closed, locked screen door -- cannot lawfully claim he needed to shoot her to stop an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy told reporters in November.


"I am saying we do not believe he acted in lawful self-defense," Worthy said.

TORONTO — A killer slit a university student’s throat from ear to ear and set her on fire, a jury heard Monday.
In her opening to the jury, Crown attorney Jennifer Stanton said Farshad “Shawn” Badakhshan, who was dating the victim, trapped Carina Petrache, 23, in his basement bedroom at his Toronto home by lighting a fire on July 2, 2010.
Badakhshan, 30, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. He contends he’s not criminally responsible because he suffered from a mental disorder at the time.
Stanton said some of Petrache’s friends didn’t approve of her relationship with Badakhshan, describing him as “jealous and controlling.”
She planned on going swimming with an ex-boyfriend and a girlfriend on the day she was attacked, court heard. Petrache lived in the same building — which contained several rooms and self-contained apartments — as Badakhshan.
The pair had started dating after she moved into the building. But their relationship was “tumultuous” as Badakhshan objected to her socializing with others or without him. Petrache’s friends implored her to end the relationship, said Stanton.
He “trapped her in his basement bedroom” and stabbed her in the torso and slit her throat “ear to ear,” the Crown said. He set her ablaze and in the struggle “also got caught on fire.”
The accused disarmed the downstairs smoke detector by removing its batteries and four separate fires were started, court heard.
The bleeding and burning victim eluded her attacker and staggered upstairs with the blazing Badakhshan pursuing her.
Another tenant heard a moaning sound, before seeing Petrache “covered in blood and on fire” as she walked into the kitchen and collapsed, court heard.
The burning Badakhshan entered the kitchen and sat down on a chair. The frantic tenant tried to extinguish both burning people and shouted “fire” to alert the other tenants.
Petrache died of her neck wound and burns, which engulfed 60% to 70% of her body, en route to the hospital, court heard.
The badly-disfigured accused lost his left leg, most of his ears and the top of his scalp.
When a firefighter asked the dying, bloodied woman if someone did this to her, “she nodded in the affirmative,” said Stanton.
The trial resumes Tuesday.

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ/AP) - Family members say they have taken a man off life support who had been critically wounded while trying to help robbery victims in Detroit.
Thursday night, 61-year-old Calvin Robinson was removed from life support after spending six months at a Southfield hospital. His wife, Sharon, said family members “kept hoping and hoping” but doctors said there was nothing else they could do.


Robinson was shot Aug. 12 after trying to help two women being mugged near downtown’s Renaissance Center. According to police, Robinson was driving down Atwater Street near St. Antoine Street when he spotted the crime and decided to intervene. When Robinson approached to try to assist the woman, police say two men attacked him and started shooting.


The incident occurred while the Rib and Soul Festival was taking place at Hart Plaza. Robinson was the only one injured.


Robinson was listed in temporary serious condition after the incident. Sharon Robinson told WXYZ that at first, her husband could talk a little bit but he never fully recovered like they hoped.


No arrests have been made, and police are still seeking the public’s help in solving the case.


Shortly after the shooting took place, a group of eight black males and one black female was recorded on surveillance video walking east on Jefferson Avenue and crossing the entrance ramp for the Detroit Windsor Tunnel.


Three of the group’s most noticeable members are:
– A black male wearing a red shirt, dark pants and red shoes. He was carrying what appeared to be a long blue light saber or glow stick that blinks.

– A black male wearing a white t-shirt, white hat and tan pants.

– A black male with no shirt and blue jeans.


Police say that because the shooting took place during a festival, there are believed to have been many witnesses to the robbery and the shooting.

Well, this murderous rampage resulting in the death of two innocent people and the shooter (who killed himself) will not become another clarion call for gun control or much of anything. Down the memory hole it goes, along with this one I bet you’ve forgotten about because it was not useful to the media to remind you of it. If only darling Darion Marcus Aguilar had been named John George Smith and had a white crew cut, then we could have a rally! About something!
Oh, and by the way, Darion’s mom says the shooter was a “gentle guy.” Naturally!
“Darion was a good kid,” his friend, Ellis Cropper, said. “I don’t know what happened … Darion is quiet, kept to himself. Nice, normal, calm demeanor.”
Just like Philip Chism! He was calm and sweet too, you know.

TORONTO — A killer slit a university student’s throat from ear to ear and set her on fire, a jury heard Monday.
In her opening to the jury, Crown attorney Jennifer Stanton said Farshad “Shawn” Badakhshan, who was dating the victim, trapped Carina Petrache, 23, in his basement bedroom at his Toronto home by lighting a fire on July 2, 2010.
Badakhshan, 30, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. He contends he’s not criminally responsible because he suffered from a mental disorder at the time.
Stanton said some of Petrache’s friends didn’t approve of her relationship with Badakhshan, describing him as “jealous and controlling.”
She planned on going swimming with an ex-boyfriend and a girlfriend on the day she was attacked, court heard. Petrache lived in the same building — which contained several rooms and self-contained apartments — as Badakhshan.
The pair had started dating after she moved into the building. But their relationship was “tumultuous” as Badakhshan objected to her socializing with others or without him. Petrache’s friends implored her to end the relationship, said Stanton.
He “trapped her in his basement bedroom” and stabbed her in the torso and slit her throat “ear to ear,” the Crown said. He set her ablaze and in the struggle “also got caught on fire.”
The accused disarmed the downstairs smoke detector by removing its batteries and four separate fires were started, court heard.
The bleeding and burning victim eluded her attacker and staggered upstairs with the blazing Badakhshan pursuing her.
Another tenant heard a moaning sound, before seeing Petrache “covered in blood and on fire” as she walked into the kitchen and collapsed, court heard.
The burning Badakhshan entered the kitchen and sat down on a chair. The frantic tenant tried to extinguish both burning people and shouted “fire” to alert the other tenants.
Petrache died of her neck wound and burns, which engulfed 60% to 70% of her body, en route to the hospital, court heard.
The badly-disfigured accused lost his left leg, most of his ears and the top of his scalp.
When a firefighter asked the dying, bloodied woman if someone did this to her, “she nodded in the affirmative,” said Stanton.
The trial resumes Tuesday.
