Bomb Squad Searches Homes After Fatal Police-Involved Shooting

DENVER (CBS4) – Denver police’s bomb squad is searching homes in Southwest Denver for devices after a gunman shot at police.

The incident started just before 11 a.m. off South Irving. Police say a gunman shot and killed a woman and that when officers arrived the gunman started shooting at them.
Police returned fire and critically injured the suspect.
They also found propane tanks in the street and were working to determine if they posed any threat.
Officers also said the gunman also shot another woman and she was injured in the leg.

It’s not clear what the relationship may be between the suspect and the two women.
Lincoln High School was on lockdown for a short time. Since then students were released from the school, but students and other residents were being asked to give detectives room to investigate.
