    I learned something today...

I've heard a lot of people, including on news channels, saying it was a baseless stop, that Gray wasn't doing anything except making eye contact with the cops and fleeing so the police had no reason to stop him.

Turns out the Supreme Court in Illinois v. Wardlow found that fleeing at the sight of law enforcement while in a high crime area gives enough Reasonable Suspicion to detain someone for an investigatory stop. So the cops were legally justified making their initial contact with him.

Hey man, throwing a rock shouldn't be a death sentence!

Had a light bulb moment a minute ago. I am not a fan of Russia, China, or other communist bloc countries. However, a riot like this would last what? Maybe thirty minutes in Russia? The violence would start, federales would move in, and body bags would be filled. Riot over.

Exactly. At the first sign of rioting, police need to come down like a hammer.

Anyone breaking into places to loot or destroying property should be shot with less lethal ammo.

Anyone setting fires, throwing rocks/missiles at people, or throwing Molotovs should be shot with lethal ammo.

Catherine Herridge was just on FNC saying that a social media analytics group that is remaining anonymous (because they currently provide analysis to the government) stated that accounts known to belong to professional agitators that worked to agitate in Ferguson were identified as being involved stirring things up in Baltimore.

    Here it is...

Social Media Analysis Suggests Links Between Baltimore And Ferguson Violence

    April 28, 2015

An analysis of social media traffic in downtown Baltimore Monday has unearthed striking connections to the protests in Ferguson, Mo. last year, according to a leading data mining firm that shared its findings exclusively with Fox News.

The firm, which asked to remain anonymous because of its government work, found between 20 and 50 social media accounts in Baltimore that were also tied to the peak period of violence in Ferguson. While further analysis is being conducted on the data, it suggests the presence of "professional protesters" or anarchists taking advantage of Freddie Gray's death to incite more violence.

Gray, 25, died April 18, a week after being injured while in police custody. A wave of violence erupted in Baltimore following his funeral Monday.

One account, which also tracked the recent union protests in New York City as well as other disturbances, tweeted photos of Gray's funeral and used language that seemed to anticipate violence in Baltimore.

The discovery that some social media accounts were tied to cities 825 miles apart was described to Fox News as “surprising.” While it is possible to spoof accounts and make it appear as if someone is in one location when they are really in another, the data mining firm told Fox News that it can’t fully explain the numbers.

The use of social media to fuel violence in Baltimore has already been highlighted by law enforcement. On Monday, police said an online call was issued for a "purge" at 3 p.m. ET, starting at Mondawmin Mall and ending in the downtown area. That type of threat is based on a movie called “The Purge,” the plot of which involves rampant lawlessness.

The Washington Times also reported Monday that law enforcement intelligence officials issued a warning after someone sent a text urging people to “kill all white police officers” in reaction to Gray’s death. The text has fueled fears that the violence in Baltimore could spread nationally, according to safety memos obtained by The Washington Times.

Baltimore's mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, announced a 10 p.m.-5a.m. curfew would be imposed beginning Tuesday.

Hmmm... Pennsylvania NG, not Maryland. Wonder why.

(ETA: Answered. 28th Infantry Division is in PA and MD)

Also, I now know why I've seen all of these sports shin guards on Uncle Sam's Retail Outlet. They're for riot control! And here I was wondering why the hell the government had so many pairs of sports shin guards!

Remember the 1974 movie "Earthquake" starring Charlton Heston? Remember the looting scene following the big quake? National guard soldiers were ordered to shoot all looters on site. They actually showed a looter being shot. Made the soldier look the bad guy though in true Hollywood fashion.

I think the police should borrow from the Romans and create a Phalanx. With some 10 foot pilums that are blunted, they could form up and clear the streets and not get hurt unless a gun comes out.

Kudos to Whole Foods though they do like to ban guns from their stores, their owner is pretty free market, anti-union, and apparently pro-LEO.

LOL @ the butthurt from the Left!

    The Race-Baiter-In-Chief speaks!

And of course blames white people.

Despite the fact that the population of Baltimore is 60% black, has a black mayor, and a black police chief.

Silly me. I thought I got the "privilege" of paying attention to these communities every paycheck.

I'm just seeing the police chief saying they may not enforce the curfew tonight for fear of inciting the crowd.
