That depends on your point of view. I believe that life exists before conception, since it initiates with a thought. And good thots about life are powerful.

the eggs were about 28 days old. However- though through the great and powerful internet, I have not been able to reaffirm your theory about the sticky goo on eggs which preserve them longer- I reckon I believe it- several other campesino types say de same.

Sami, that "theory" isn't really mine. I "learned it" on the farm. I just "know".

The thing is, there isn't really any evidence for it either way and I don't know it's accurate, it's just something that we all thought while growing up.

The turning of eggs to me is just silly, since you're not doing anything other than turning the eggs over and over.

I can't see how they would be any more preserved doing that than leaving them sitting in a cool, dry place untouched for weeks.

I suspect that an egg, once laid by a chicken has a "shelf life" of not more than about eight weeks unless it is fertilized and ready to hatch.

Beyond that, nothing is going to preserve them longer except perhaps refrigeration.
