It is hard to believe that it has been 50 years since John Glenn orbited the Earth! I remember it as one the few times we were allowed to watch tv in school. We all assembled in the gym to watch a little black and white tv. Like Ryan, this is one of those things that tend to make one feel old!

And look how far we've come! We can now orbit a US citizen at will. Wait, what? No? Well, we can now orbit a us citizen on the shuttle several times a year! Wait? No? Well, we can orbit a citizen if we beg the Russians for a ride on a Soyuz.
